He is dreaming about his mother because he feels guilty that he free a she's not, this was explained In Inception I had this experience many times. well, actually, the chancellor was actually the leader of the sith and wanted to be supreme leader of the world, so in order for that to happen he would have to start a war between the republic and the sepratist. You have to keep in mind that everybodies decisions was clouded by the dark side right now. So it was very important for the chancellor to aski "do you really think it will come to war?"
If you're going to focus all your attention on one character through 3 movies, you better make damn sure he is interesting and keep our attention. Sadly, this doesn't happen and is ultimately the reason why these films are failures.

When your main focus is on Anakin Skywalker, you better make damn sure Anakin is worth watching or you will fail miserably. Sadly, Anakin was a complete and utter failure with his constant wining, bitching and underdevelopment. Hence, the epic failure that is the prequels. Love the Anakin impersonations. In a dramatic main character arc, you're supposed to have the character actually change as the story progresses. Ok, he shouldn't have gone straight for Dooku, hence in the next film he has learnt from this and agrees with Obi Wan that, now we do it together!!! He was bloody annoyed at how many jedi had been killed and how dooku tried to kill padme and him and obi wan...he hasnt learnt to control his anger and be patient in this film, thats the idea!!! And he tells obi wan about how padme is not like the other politicians and how shes different/respectful!!! he does love her personality.

Padma's ship blowing up would probably have been a good chance to kill Shami. She could have been living on Naboo with Padma, so she couldn't get in the way of Anakin's Jedi training. The bomb could have blown up in space and Shami could have died getting Padma into an escape pod.

@iamthefirstbeans All we ever learnt about Anakin from the original trilogy was that he was a great pilot and a good friend. In all fairness we do see examples in the prequels of both these things. I don't get where people got this idea from that Anakin was supposed to be this perfect guy. If he was really so flawless then it wouldn't be believable that he could fall to the dark side...he needed to have serious flaws in spite of being a good guy overall!

In episode 2 when Anakin said I can't stop dreaming about his mother, and he said dreams will pass in time. He is dreaming about his mother because he feels guilty that he free a she's not, this was explained In Inception I had this experience many times. Obi-wan should have these dreams If you two are friends why didn't you try to free her.

He rushed to help his mother when he sensed she was in danger. He went with Padme to rescue Obi Wan, he spoke up against obi wan out of a sheer determination to find Padmes killer, he fought alongside the jedi and was clearly pissed off by how many of them died in that battle, when he killed the sand people, to be continued

And no he never LOVED Padme, he was OBSESSED with her, like s stalker. Never ONCE does he say anything about how he loves her strength or her personality, he focuses solely on her beauty, again, like a creepy stalker. The whole rescue his mom thing is negated by COMMITTING GENOCIDE.

anakin was acting like a good friend in the prequels by rescuing obi wan 3 times, praising obi wan to be great as yoda and windu before throwing a tantrum, telling padme compassion is the better way to fall in love, using the force by waving the hand without speaking that drinking is has gone too far in the cantina. in ROTS, he playfully bickres with obi wan, and anakin feels sorry for his arrogance before obi wan praises him to be great as the jedi are.

well, actually, the chancellor was actually the leader of the sith and wanted to be supreme leader of the world, so in order for that to happen he would have to start a war between the republic and the sepratist. You have to keep in mind that everybodies decisions was clouded by the dark side right now. So it was very important for the chancellor to aski "do you really think it will come to war?"

When your main focus is on Anakin Skywalker, you better make damn sure Anakin is worth watching or you will fail miserably. Sadly, Anakin was a complete and utter failure with his constant wining, bitching and underdevelopment. Hence, the epic failure that is the prequels. Love the Anakin impersonations. In a dramatic main character arc, you're supposed to have the character actually change as the story progresses. Making him a total jerk from the start makes his fall to the Dark Side obvious and understandable, not suprising. He was a suck Jedi in the first place. Agree!

What sort of help could the Galactic Republic provide if it doesn't have a military to enforce its decisions and show that it has some form of authority?
