In '89' or '90'..I competed in a Country Showdown in Selah, Washington. I chose this song & a Ronnie Milsap song....first night of competition I made the top 10...they announced "The Forester Sisters will be the judges at the next competition!" I could not change the songs, so I sang their song at the next competition...with these beautiful singers a few feet in front of me judging...it was so worth it, although I didn't make the next round! The Forester Sisters' reaction was SO AWESOME!
This song (I'd Choose You Again) will be sung at my wedding as I remarry my ex husband on June 1st! Yep I got the chance to do it all again and I did choose him again. God is good!
@MaidMarian807 What a wonderful story of reclaiming love! I hope you are both blessed with a long and happy marriage. It gives me hope mine will one day come back into my life as well... :)
the girls hit #1 in Billboard, 9-21-85. Which of the girls sings the highest vocal part? Somebody who knows, please let me know, and also, what vocal part it is. God bless ya, Foresters!
Dave: I saw the ladies live about 60 times back in the day and got to know them a bit. They traded parts across their entire catalog of songs but, in general, June and Christy had the higher parts. I believe June may have the highest part here. She hit the highest notes I can remember as each had solos. As to "what part" it is, I can't say in terms of where on the musical scale but I'd say June is soprano.
Each time I play this video i think of what wonderful harmony these four lovely sisters have. I liked them from the first day I heard them. This song is so sweet and the ladies really do sing it just as if it's their lives - which makes pure gold country music so special. Thanks once more for posting this. - Paula (PaulinaRena)
I remember when this song first came out on radio...my mum bought the 45 single and played it over and over. She said it was how she felt about my dad...now 20 some years later I have someone to love and I find myself singing the song when thinking about him.
Wow - these gals keep doing everything just right for sure. Thanks again Mark for this link. I have always loved this song. It's such a lovely love song and it says so much that everyone would like to have sung to them I feel. True country gold. The sisters have always been so classy and are such great entertainers - pretty, too. Thank you for posting CountryGuy1. - Paula
@sanantonegirl was this 1984? I remember cruising with my hillbilly uncle who after the oening chords he screeched out on a breezy November night to Bingo "woohoo!" and I liked the nice tender lyrics...if anything he got me into country...for awhile. Honestly Pam tillis was the only female artist, yeah she was no Reba or Faith but she was No. 1 in my heart she seemed underrated, dito for TFS..but I don't have the knowledge of CM much. God bless!
What a great song by very pretty ladies with great harmony. Great lyrics, tell a good story. Lets hope it comes true for many.
