In Brazil we invented this instrument back in 1940's and we have a large history behind it. It was invented as "Pau-Elétrico" (Electric Stick) by DODÔ and OSMAR in Bahia during second world war, and in the late 70's began to be called GUITARRA BAIANA.

We have many skilled players of this instrument here in Brazil, the most known is Armando Macedo, Osmar's son.

Do you have intonation problems with the C string on your FM- 60?

Not since i began to use flatwound strings on it. I use the 6th string of a D'daddario chromes set.

Thanks galxcajun. The tuning is CGDAE, from lowest to highest. Standard mando tuning with an extra low C.
