My birth place is IKARIA! The views of Samos' outline and Fourni are an inseparable part of my memories, growing up and of visiting Ikaria. I congratulate you for putting together this video presentation and the information about Samos and by crediting the musicians. It is clearly a labor of love! It has been over 27years since I have been to my parents island of Samos. I came to Greece in January of this year but did not get to go to Samos. It has such a special place in my heart. I cry when I arrive and I cry when I leave. Perhaps one day God willing I could retire there.
I have just come back from Samos and it was so hard to leave that magic place. It was like I was breaking into two. I have discovered that Samos is my place to live and to die since the first time I stepped on that island last year in April for Easter holiday.
Samos has been my three times destination for the last 15 months.

It took me 43 years to find the place where I want to live. Hope to go and live there ASAP
Since several years, Ikaria is full of party people in the summer month, invading and taking over the island. And turning the local panijiria into something else that has nothing to do with original tradition. Isn't that modern tourism?
True, Samos, Ikaria and Fourni are different islands with different music and different local habits. But governed and represented touristically (e.g. ITB Berlin) by one prefecture!
If you are born on one of these islands, you surely will have the one and only island perspective ("my island"). If you happen to come from another part of the world (e.g. outside of greece!), you will see things more relaxed and enjoy the variety that you will find over there ....
True it depends on how you defind it, Greeks think of it over a period of a least 3,000 years that we have been on that land. 3,000 years ago the Turks were in central asia and did not arrive in the area until much more recenlty so it depends on how it is defined.
Since I dont know you, I have to ask you on behalf of which party are you speaking? The greek nation? The whole of greek musicians? The people of Samos Island?
Or specifically musicians from Samos/Ikaria involved in the songs/tunes that I used in my presentation?
