All native religions from Africa to Asia to the Americas have similar beliefs - respect for nature and respect for all life, human or otherwise. Katie, I think Wicca and all those other native religions are much more noble than the judgmental religions like christianity and islam. about the wiccan religion and had to show how if we were all wiccan, how it would benefit the world we live in today... After researching and writing that paper, everything my parents had taught me who were btw pentecostal... dad was preacher... Unfortunately religions like Christianity and Islam became corrupted and taken down paths that could have been avoided. you are right that the old testament is full of horrors. Tolerance for other gods (or even alternative names of the same gods) was punished, primarily because priests cannot tax non-believers. Sadly it comes down to money again. Therefore conversion became a focal point for preachers.
This is a wonderful response to his video. I grew up Christian and studied Wicca when I was in college. The one thing I made up my mind when I was looking for what I believed was that my God would be a God of Love. I cannot wrap my mind around a 'wrathful god' who is also a god of love. I cannot reconcile the Old Testament killing of babies to Jesus who claimed 'let the children come to me'. I will always respect the love shown at times in Christianity. @SeramiNefera Just be aware that Wicca is essentially Thelema-light with some nature worship veneer. Gardner largely pulled this stuff from Thelema, as well as some Rosicrucian/Masonic stuff. In terms of the "Satanic" connection I'd suggest you actually look into Ordo Templi Orientis, Thelema, & Aleister Crowley, which is essentially where a lot of Wicca comes from. And yeah the Horned God basically is Satan. Before flaming me please look OTO, Thelema & Crowley to understand why people say this.
@MagnetsFucking I do respect that you have looked up that information. I had never heard of the Thelema religion although I do know of Crowley, I disagree with you saying the 'horned god' is Satan. Satan was not described as a horned god until they encountered the pagan gods like Pan. There is no biblical passages that describe him that way. They lifted it from Gods that they wanted to demonize. The pitchfork=Poseidon's trident, horns=Pan, etc. This was done around the Middle Ages.

There's no list of Paganism-condoned acts, there is no Pagan Bible. Paganism is not one religion. It's usually used as a blanket term for any non- monotheistic religion. Paganism has had a bad rap over the years due to these stereotypes of all pagans being Satanists, which only started because of Christians who saw anyone worshiping another god/s as worshiping Satan. Most pagans don't even believe in Satan, an invention of the Abrahamic religions.

I agree compleatly. I am Wiccan and I even get shit from my mom who is a witch but not wiccan and its because I think of the extremest and hypocrites that call themselves wiccans. Another thing most don't understand is that no two wiccans will ever believe exactly the same thing.

I grew up pagan, and currently am going to school on a Scholarship from the church, and they do know I am pagan, it was because I helped so much (babysitting etc...) I went to church every sunday because I wanted to understand everyones religions and wishes.
But growing up pagan I can say that the people that pic on you mean nothing compared to the people who respect you for knowing who you actually are.

I found Wicca to be a gateway phase for me to be honest. I did so much research on it and it opened so many new doors "in the spiritual sense" At the end of the day you can be what ever it is you want to be, believe in who you want to believe, believe what you want to believe as long as you are honest to yourself, really have faith in yourself and know that you are not harming anyone around you.

A teacher in school saw that I had a pentacle on my arm not too long ago (careless drawings) and went into this huge speach about christianity and how if I were to get hit by a car that day I would go to hell. A bunch of other stuff too, but it took the whole class period (2 actually cause I have him 2 times in a row). The school tried to cover his ass because they're all christians too. They even have an illegal bible study (because they don't have permission)... I ran out of room...

@moonrisemage519 Surely not everyone's beliefs can be 'true' if we are to mean anything at all by the word 'true'. E.g. if reincarnation is true, then heaven is not; if there are many gods, then there is not one god, etc. And since the consequence of saying that everyone's beliefs are 'true' is that killing, stealing etc. could never be called 'wrong' so long as the perpetrators believe they are 'right', I say the truth is important. And only Reason can find truth without bloodshed.

Wicca, It's to peaceful to me personally. It was a great stepping stone for me, into the world of Paganism. But I couldn't keep with it, WAY TO PASSIVE!
I went on to Asatru. Despite the afterlife being obtained through battle. It too, was to peaceful. I then went on to Mayan Neopag. Some burned paper, with blood on it later. I became an Aztec Recon, and went even darker. Now I'm just a... a... IDK. I do my own thing, and don't really do the "Religion" thing. I'd say I'm more into Spirituality.
Always question your beliefs, and those of others. Keep your mind open, and don't cut yourself off from new Ideas. Don't be still, keep pushing forward to find the truth!

Of course this is just my personal opinion, but for the record I think Katie / Katy ( sorry I dont know how to spell your name ) seems like a sweet, loving, caring and gentle soul, and if there are people out there that can somehow find fault in someone like that, maybe they should take a harder look at themselves, because they would probably learn a lot from a more sincere approach to Wiccan Philosophy.
Although I practice Wicca, I am actually a born and raised Christian, I have basically believed the Bible my whole life, and still do to this day, but Wicca has also opened up my mind in ( in positive way ) to new ideas, thoughts, philosophies, and other gifts that I may never would have discovered through conventional Christianity.

I'm atheist, half my family is religious and i just could not understand everything they tried to teach me, they threw me in a CCD class and i always viewed it as a waste of time, when i started watching things on youtube about wicca and reading about it, i was completely captivated by it, it really is something beautiful and peaceful, unlike everything else where jews, muslims and christians are constantly trying to kill each other, muslims do suicide bombings, but wicca is just pure peace :)

If you let the Satan live, and the word for it, then you give christianity a further live here, where it doesn't belong. It's a desertreligion, it should be there. The Lucifer in Pagan theology is NOT the same as the Christian Lucifer nor the Devil. In Stregha, which is a form of Italiam Witchcraft, Lucifer is a Roman God and the personification of Venus, the Morning Star..the name meaning "Light Bringer". Lucifer and Diana were the parents of Aradia who is the Goddess and teacher of Witches. A good resource on the subject is "Aradia, Gospel of the Witches" by Charles Leland. Why should one of our gods die because they used the name?

I love Wicca and nature based spiritual movements. Christians like to talk about the devil, but what they don't realize is that, Satan was an invention by the church. Satan is not even a name, but a title meaning adversary. It's not a being. Same goes for "Lucifer". When are these people going to grow up, I don't know lol. Some Christians are nice and respectful. But the majority get on my nerves!

Katie, I think Wicca and all those other native religions are much more noble than the judgmental religions like christianity and islam. After researching and writing that paper, everything my parents had taught me who were btw pentecostal... dad was preacher... I finally realized that it's actually better than the christian religion in my opinion... there is more freedom and no worry of oh your going to hell or your a sinner and need to repent. Unfortunately religions like Christianity and Islam became corrupted and taken down paths that could have been avoided. you are right that the old testament is full of horrors. Tolerance for other gods (or even alternative names of the same gods) was punished, primarily because priests cannot tax non-believers. Sadly it comes down to money again. Therefore conversion became a focal point for preachers.

This is a wonderful response to his video. I grew up Christian and studied Wicca when I was in college. The one thing I made up my mind when I was looking for what I believed was that my God would be a God of Love. I cannot wrap my mind around a 'wrathful god' who is also a god of love. I cannot reconcile the Old Testament killing of babies to Jesus who claimed 'let the children come to me'. I will always respect the love shown at times in Christianity. @SeramiNefera Just be aware that Wicca is essentially Thelema-light with some nature worship veneer. Gardner largely pulled this stuff from Thelema, as well as some Rosicrucian/Masonic stuff. In terms of the "Satanic" connection I'd suggest you actually look into Ordo Templi Orientis, Thelema, & Aleister Crowley, which is essentially where a lot of Wicca comes from. And yeah the Horned God basically is Satan. Before flaming me please look OTO, Thelema & Crowley to understand why people say this.

@MagnetsFucking I do respect that you have looked up that information. I had never heard of the Thelema religion although I do know of Crowley, I disagree with you saying the 'horned god' is Satan. Satan was not described as a horned god until they encountered the pagan gods like Pan. There is no biblical passages that describe him that way. They lifted it from Gods that they wanted to demonize. The pitchfork=Poseidon's trident, horns=Pan, etc. This was done around the Middle Ages.

But I also encourage people to be aware of the choices they're making, and the problem I have with many groups is the pyramid scheme shenanigans where the lower levels are clueless about what they've gotten themselves into. There's no list of Paganism-condoned acts, there is no Pagan Bible. Paganism is not one religion. It's usually used as a blanket term for any non- monotheistic religion. Paganism has had a bad rap over the years due to these stereotypes of all pagans being Satanists, which only started because of Christians who saw anyone worshiping another god/s as worshiping Satan. Most pagans don't even believe in Satan, an invention of the Abrahamic religions.

That is why there are so many denominations of Christianity, to lead people astray. Catholicism is a denomination. I grew up pagan, and currently am going to school on a Scholarship from the church, and they do know I am pagan, it was because I helped so much (babysitting etc...) I went to church every sunday because I wanted to understand everyones religions and wishes.

I found Wicca to be a gateway phase for me to be honest. I did so much research on it and it opened so many new doors "in the spiritual sense" At the end of the day you can be what ever it is you want to be, believe in who you want to believe, believe what you want to believe as long as you are honest to yourself, really have faith in yourself and know that you are not harming anyone around you.

A teacher in school saw that I had a pentacle on my arm not too long ago (careless drawings) and went into this huge speach about christianity and how if I were to get hit by a car that day I would go to hell. A bunch of other stuff too, but it took the whole class period (2 actually cause I have him 2 times in a row). The school tried to cover his ass because they're all christians too. They even have an illegal bible study (because they don't have permission)... I ran out of room...

I am Christian and do not hate pagans at all, if anything I sympathize for all of you. You have been warned what will happen if you continue doing what you are doing and still you get drawn in by temptation. You are facing a fate so harsh that it scares people into changing there sexuality, religion, beliefs and still continue so all we can do is hope that some day you change your ways and maybe there is still a chance that your soles can be saved.

@moonrisemage519 Surely not everyone's beliefs can be 'true' if we are to mean anything at all by the word 'true'. E.g. if reincarnation is true, then heaven is not; if there are many gods, then there is not one god, etc. And since the consequence of saying that everyone's beliefs are 'true' is that killing, stealing etc. could never be called 'wrong' so long as the perpetrators believe they are 'right', I say the truth is important. And only Reason can find truth without bloodshed.

Btw, maybe you need to read up on your history. Paganism was around a long time before "Christianity". Halloween...or should I say "Samhain" was a pagan holiday long before Christians adopted it and decided to call it "Halloween". Alot of the "Christianity" faith/religion comes from Paganism. You should do your history first.

Wicca, It's to peaceful to me personally. It was a great stepping stone for me, into the world of Paganism. But I couldn't keep with it, WAY TO PASSIVE!
I went on to Asatru. Despite the afterlife being obtained through battle. It too, was to peaceful. I then went on to Mayan Neopag. Some burned paper, with blood on it later. I became an Aztec Recon, and went even darker. Now I'm just a... a... IDK. I do my own thing, and don't really do the "Religion" thing. I'd say I'm more into Spirituality.

I am a Chistian who believes in one God, and most of the teachings of the Bible, I just practice Magick
However, I do agree with many of the principles of Wicca, such as love, not harming others, not imposing on others free will, ect. I just have not taken the oath, nor do I belong to a coven, so therefore I cannot be considered a true Wiccan.

Of course this is just my personal opinion, but for the record I think Katie / Katy ( sorry I dont know how to spell your name ) seems like a sweet, loving, caring and gentle soul, and if there are people out there that can somehow find fault in someone like that, maybe they should take a harder look at themselves, because they would probably learn a lot from a more sincere approach to Wiccan Philosophy.

Although I practice Wicca, I am actually a born and raised Christian, I have basically believed the Bible my whole life, and still do to this day, but Wicca has also opened up my mind in ( in positive way ) to new ideas, thoughts, philosophies, and other gifts that I may never would have discovered through conventional Christianity.
Just because it's different does NOT make it wrong. Everyone has their own path to follow, and no one has the right to judge another person for seeking the truth.

I'm atheist, half my family is religious and i just could not understand everything they tried to teach me, they threw me in a CCD class and i always viewed it as a waste of time, when i started watching things on youtube about wicca and reading about it, i was completely captivated by it, it really is something beautiful and peaceful, unlike everything else where jews, muslims and christians are constantly trying to kill each other, muslims do suicide bombings, but wicca is just pure peace :)

If you let the Satan live, and the word for it, then you give christianity a further live here, where it doesn't belong. It's a desertreligion, it should be there. Just stick to our own gods and our own names for them. Wotan, Svarog, Dagda, Zeus,... etc

The Lucifer in Pagan theology is NOT the same as the Christian Lucifer nor the Devil. In Stregha, which is a form of Italiam Witchcraft, Lucifer is a Roman God and the personification of Venus, the Morning Star..the name meaning "Light Bringer". Lucifer and Diana were the parents of Aradia who is the Goddess and teacher of Witches. A good resource on the subject is "Aradia, Gospel of the Witches" by Charles Leland. Why should one of our gods die because they used the name?
