The wooden chair style might not be useful in modern day because most seats now-a-days are attached to the ground...LOL!!!

Anyway CLF is still a great style due to all the wide cross-fist moves found in their forms that can really be useful when surrounded by enemies. Just like Wing Chun and Hung Gar, more simple and strong movement emphaises and lesser spectacular flying moves.

It seems that you are practicing contemporary Choy Lee Fut.

You have no foot work at all. One of the most important footwork (Teign Gi Mah) is missing.

Which means you have no power at all.

On the contrary, noxyckz, the performance by choyleef in the videos show alot of "ging", strength and fluidity. I don't know him but he is a bona fide instructor. Don't be one of those people who just criticizes others all the time. You are not a master enough to comment on others; when you are a master you won't comment on others. Practise and improve your own kung fu and GET A LIFE.
