dude sorry to burst ur bubble but the r18 is a sohc the k20 is a dohc
The 1.8-liter, single overhead camshaft, aluminum-alloy i-VTEC® 4-cylinder engine uses state-of-the-art engineering technology to produce an impressive 140 hp, yet it still achieves excellent fuel efficiency* and an ultra-low emissions rating†, all on regular gasoline.
We got R18's for a reason. Better to be the underdog anyway trust me when i tell you, there's nothing better than beating "supposedly" faSter cars "on paper" with a R18 civic. We have nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Owning a honda in general we have nothing to lose since everyone already thinks our cars is crap to begin with when they are about the most reliable and most aftermarkey wise supported in the world. But our cars are still crap and slow and rice right? :/
@Dickotine Yes they are generally very slow and not worth investing money into, yes. Reliable? Absolutely, some of the best especially 1990's-early 2000's. Fuel efficient of course. Aftermarket wise sure they are very uprgradeable...but why...lol these cars are designed to be family daily drivers with zero intent on performance...by the time you make them worth of the term: "performance oriented," you've spent enough money to have bought a better car. LOL.
R18 is for SOHC

hell you can get it to 8000 if you put it in gear at D1 and floor it.
**Although I wouldn't recommend it**
