  • this brings tears to my eyes everytime i watch it

  • this episode and the story (i think the next two episodes) is my favourite out of all of scrubs. scrubs was more than just a comedy.

  • why did scrubs have to end :/

  • where do you get the clips from?

  • Bad day. That's an understatement.

  • man i love scrubs so much

    this was so emotional :(

  • fuckin radio, whenever I hear this song I think of scrubs.

  • scrubs was the best series i ever watched

  • This still gives me chills, like actual chills. I'm glad I can feel that way, glad I can be emphatic.

  • this episode made me cry soooo much.. :'(,

  • Who is cutting onions at such an hour?...

  • @againajames haha

  • I love grey's anatomy and scrubs a lot.......

  • This part makes me cry every.damn.time.

  • When you think about what really happened in this .. it's crazy.. a man who couldn't be broken by anything .. the strongest man in the hospital, broke down .. Just goes to show that anyone can be weak . I love scrubs, and miss it so much . Best show ever

  • I'm a grown man but every time I watch this episode I cry like a little girl who just got her pony stolen.

  • @OrderLTU dude... LMAO!

  • I've seen this part so many times and yet when it comes on...tears be coming..

    Amazing episode

  • you know what's more sad than this scene? The fact that Dr. Cox is acting commercials now to get by

  • damn good episode how to save a life the fray rules

  • MAKE A MOVIE!!!!!

  • the best episode of the best show ever on tv

  • i olso like scrubs more

  • Cox's face and reaction when the pager goes off is just perfect. He really is the best actor out there

  • @StylishGaz agreed!

  • thats a sad video scrubs is good becuase its not serious but then in that video when everyone is dieing the doctors get upset

  • this was on tv last night again. great ep

  • I really couldn't give a fuck about your music dreams, audition for a label stupid fucks

  • one of my favorite episodes ever

  • Most powerful scene in Scrubs history... this is a moment where the show can be seen on a par with friends.

  • Thumbs up you hate the spam comments about the kids with music "dreams" bs

  • the writers or whoever are just absolute geniuses, they build dr. cox up as a god among men, the best doctor ever and just completely indestructible so to see him get demolished like this and his quiet wrecked side you just cant stand, and to see the pain in his eyes is just immensely powerful. s3. e.14. if you thought this scene was good, watch that.

  • Seeing Dr. Cox that way, really blew my mind

  • very powerful scene. so emotional.

  • Best episode ever

  • @Sniffles0611 Indeed !!! BEST OF ALL !!!

    SCRUBS FWWW !!!

  • Amazing song featured on an Amazing show -3

  • I've seen this scene so many times and it's spot on every time.. definately the best combination of music and emotions ever.

  • This will always be the single greatest moment in Scrubs history.

  • What really makes this part uber-depressing is the contrast. See, in Gray's Anatomy, depressing things happen all the time, and when something really bad happens, well, it doesn't deviate much from the norm. But Scrubs is a comedy. Honestly, how many of you, when you first saw this episode, actually expected it to end this way? That contrast emphasizes the ending, and with the perfect use of How To Save A Life, it becomes one of the saddest moments on Television.

  • @lordryanXIII yes but by doing this they really present life as it is...now you are happy you laugh everything is ok...and an hour later you killed somebody(like in this case) or you ruined your life...thios show is more realistic than greys anatomy which is also a good show but not as good as this

  • @lordryanXIII Yup. This was the only time I ever teared up while watching this show

  • @lordryanXIII true story bro

  • I cried every time i see this scene. It's amazing, it's so full of what life is.

  • Thumbs up if you can say srubs is the best show of all time

  • Who the fuck disliked this

  • This is like atually the saddest TV moment ever

  • I don't watch scrubs but this particular episode had me tearful.

  • 0:39-0:43

Did anyone else notice how flawlessly this transition is done? I mean, the wrinkles of the sheet where his chest is(the strip) are exactly as they were after he's taken out. But it's not photoshopped- the wrinkles at the bottom indicate the difference slightly. This was really amazing, and it gives it a subtle addition- almost metaphorical, as if the patient's death had no effect to the indifferent bed, maybe representative of fate. Thebed doesn't care or change, but Cox does.

  • This was the first scene I've ever cried for due to a film..

  • without a doubt one of the best scenes in Scrubs!!!

  • Лучший сериал всех времен! The best serial of all times!

  • Maybe the best scene ever in Scrubs. The perfect choice of music and lyrics.

And the expression on Carla's face......

  • Best scrubs scene ever

  • i always see this episode on Comedy Central n this is so touching its like amazing n im speechless

  • this scene is one of the greatest scenes ever, Ive cried twice just seeing it

  • This is the episode that changed my life when i saw it. The mixture of the song and how Dr. Cox reacted to losing that patient, is the reason why I'm perusing a medical career. great scene in the show, I will never forget it.

  • @sc4life237 Bravo and good for you. I admire your choice to follow a healing profession. I am thinking about the same thing. I am not going to utter any platitudes about 'knowing how he felt" but I can tell you how I felt after four years of trying desperately to get my mother the best possible care but on memorial day I had to let her go. I tried so hard, all the doctors I found for her tried so hard but in the end, if COPD destroys your lungs completely, well...

  • Its a topic we can all relate to. Loss is never easy, i can only imagine losing someone that was in your care. To all the doctors, i give you my utmost respect and admiration for saving lives and going home every day with that weight on your shoulders.

  • Best Scrubs scene ever.

  • the 123 people that didnt like this are idiots who dont appreciate life and have a heart of stone. Seriously people this moment is just...........too sad. Even the greatest of them fall.

  • scrubs yea awesome :)

  • i started watching Greys Anatomy because everybody told me that is a lot better then Scrubs...but you can't compare them...scrubs is 100% better

  • @AndreiPlopeanu well i agree, apart from the newest season without JD... that was juyst terrible

  • @freyr108 yes ... i dont know why they did that...

  • @AndreiPlopeanu i can tell you that scrubs is alot more realistic aswell....It's allmost scary

  • @AndreiPlopeanu WHO THE HELL TOLD YOU GREY'S ANATOMY IS BETTER?!?!!!

  • @pennyferret77 just my sister my rommate my football teammates every girl i know from highschool...and the list can continue

  • First episode of Scrubs to ever make me cry tears of sadness and not laughter!!! But still a great episode....

  • what i like about scrubs is that there's always a lesson to be learned at the end of each episode. it really makes you take a long look at yourself

  • this episode and the one in wich jordans cbrother dies is the saddest in the whole show... by the way the guy who dies and failed to be revived having the VF problem.

  • @Daandude1

The FPoBA scene is touching even if you only see that scene alone without knowing the whole series, thats the beauty of it.

This scrubs scene is only saddening because by this time you grow an attachment to the characters so to see them get so emotional takes a toll on you also. So if someone that hates the series watches it they will realise such things that you did. Although its true i still feel sad when I see this.

  • @Daandude1

I think the song is what makes this scene. I didn't like it before I heard it in this scene, but now it nearly brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it because of the association. Maybe there was a better song they could have used. Maybe the voiceover could have been done more elegantly. But neither of those changes would have been necessary, as this scene touches so many fans emotionally in a way that few scenes in TV shows do.

  • watch my cover as well.......

  • watch?v=jvtoohaG46s&feature=mh_lolz&list=HL1310284608

pleases watch my cover of this song, im only 14 and id really like some feedback on my piano playing, any comment or subscriptions would help me alot, and if you share the vid with anybody u know i will love u forever :)

  • I heard this song at the radio and I recognized immediately this soundtrack from scrubs! I had to think but remembered that it was this scene that they used for it. And it's sooooooooo sad but I kind of love this scene...

  • This is my favorite episode of Scrubs. I fell in love with it the instant I heard "How to Save a Life" play, and while the song has so much meaning to it, the actors just added to it and made the best scene of all. I cant help but to tear up when I hear it though. Scrubs is the best series I have ever seen, and the acting and storyline is just great. Too bad its gone.

  • This is why I don't want to be a doctor. Even though the patients death is not your fault, you still have that sense of guilt.

Hell... I would act like Dr. Cox in this scene.

  • That was a tough episode, but as far as John goes...he was under-appreciated way before scrubs

  • this was by far the SADDEST episode in the series and it was one of the best ones too...im a guy and goddam am not afraid to say dat i cried during this...

  • This and My old lady always tugs on my heart strings...

  • What Season?

  • I just cant imagine Dr. Cox in another serie....

  • Been awhile since I've seen this episode.

Definitely the greatest Scrubs moment followed closely by My Screw Up when Ben died.

  • this is by far one of the greatest episodes of Scrubs, this episode got me into the entire series

  • That is one of the greatest scenes in a TV show .. ever!

  • never cried from a movie, but this scene.... damn...!

  • John C. McGinley should at least have a few golden globe/emmy-nominations

  • @sitiosanguinem so true

  • what's with the face of the female intern at 0:31?

  • @Ozcloudlink She looks sad.

  • The "Oh God" at 1:53 is just heart-breaking, especially as it contrasts JD's "Right then I knew I was gonna pull him out of this"

  • First time i saw this sence i was11 today i'm 16 and almost everyday i thought about this sence.one of the sences that most effected me. as usual scrubs makes you find out what you really are.

  • Also at the part "Yeah.... your right." should have been instant emmy by far.

  • This was by far the best episode of the series in my book. Man did it hit home, I love this show.

  • This ending was so sad =(

  • When I get kids, I will show them scrubs. Because if I didn't have Scrubs, I wouldn't live today.

  • I remember watching this and I actually felt sad. Scrubs is an awesome show and Dr.Cox has to be my favorite out of the show (not counting Zack Braff)

  • this episode made me start respecting doctors more

  • i love cox in the episode!

  • and it know's how to deliver it's emotions to the t.It can be funny when it needs to be and be serious for moments like these. And for all you haters, i don't give a rat's ass about what you think. Your hating on us because you don't relate or don't like it, well good for you I on the other hand will enjoy it because it's what i think not you loser's. Scrubs so many moments. And this show just makes me think, Being able to help people so they can have a chance. Even if the worse happens

  • There is so much shit that happens in the world, that this show has made me question what i am and what i want to do. This scene perticulary makes me wonder, and is the reason why im thinking about being a doctor. Not to kill them, because as much as it sucks we cant control everything, but to give it a chance. Scrubs is the best show i have seen. The characters go through what we generally go through as human beings and that makes them all the more relatable. And it's well written.

  • 123 people don't know how to save a life

  • people who dislike this this are morons...or Obama supporters...no difference.....cluesless idiots....i have have friends who live this everyday....

  • people who dislike this lhis are morons...or Obama supporters...no difference.....cluesless idiots

  • How could 122 people dislike this? I beginning to think a group of people go around on every good youtube video and disliking....

  • @BenniBoy6669 Because as awesome as this episode was, the Fray fucking blows.

  • this song fits perfectly into this episode.

  • Scrubs always makes its characters incredibly human in both good and bad times. As much as Dr Cox wasn't at fault, and he knew it, and everyone else did as well, he still blamed himself for what went wrong, just as real human being would

  • When ever i see this episode on TV i dont know why but it makes me think would if i was him. It is the only time were i dont feel selfish and feel the urge to cry to my hearts extent. Why that is... I dont know. But scrubs is a great show it is just under appreciated because the Haters havent been connected to them like us scrubs watchers have. I dont know why but this show has been my life. It almost makes me wanna be a doctor but im not a medical person. I just wanna say. I love you scrubs :D

  • This is probably the most important scene in Scrubs. When Dr. Cox looks at him saying only "Yea, you're right". It's there you realize a complete new side of him. He isn't just a cynical person; he takes the burden of every death in that hospital personally. It's very heartbreaking to know the reason he hates himself is something he can't control. No matter how happy he is, the weight of his burdens will always keep him down. I know it's just a show of course, but I relate to that.

  • @TheKenTerry

Definately man. That one little "Yeah" humanizes Cox. Instead of being that archetypical mentor character that remains static he becomes a real person who needs reassurance of his worth as a doctor and as a human

  • Only episode in a TV series that EVER made me cry.

  • Its hilarious and depressing. It's side-splitting and heartbreaking. It's comical and cruel. It's silly and significant. Scrubs is the only show that can put all these together into soul-searching episodes that teach a lot about life..

  • @whattahead22 Well said. Really beautiful comment.

  • @whattahead22

no other show can make you laugh and cry in the same episode. they have had some great episodes and this for me is the best one closely followed by the brendan frazier funeral episode.God bless scrubs

  • @magikmandem This one is my favourite, plus the one where laverne passes away. The writing is second to none, its a shame that in Australia, the show isn't given as much recognition.. It really was an underrated show.

  • Scrubs is cool, this scene is great for John Mcginley J.D is a wuss I wish I never become, I dont know why the actor and writers decided after season 2 he should be so gay and female like. No offence to gay people its just a saying. kill me or get over it.

  • @Kaldhore Grow up a little. You might see things in a different light. He just lost 4 patients. 1 of which was a friend. Hes not a "wuss" hes a human being that has seen death so much that it finally broke him. You wish you never become a person that breaks down after seeing people die? I hope you never experience the kind of loss that makes you react like that, i have, and its horrible.

  • @chrono4203 ARE U SERIOUS:?? Re-read what I said in a cooler frame of mind. Nothing I said calls for your response. I think its YOU who needs to be more human and polite.

  • dis made me cry cause i thought about the patience family and how they would feel and how the doctor would feel dat must suc badly

  • i got those bad tingles all over my body :(

  • I got so depressed after this episode......

  • This episode made me cry when first saw it and it has always stuck in my mind since then. I think its the best episode of any TV series I've seen.

  • the deepest moments are with dr. cox

  • zach braff, john c mcginley, judy reyes all stepped it up a notch in this episode, amazing acting.

  • This is the reason why I like scrubs, it's funny, random and it can also be very serious

  • Dr. Cox best on the show with no question love this show have all nine series :)

  • woooooooooooo scrubs all the way!

  • 121 people couldn't save a life

  • @swishygirl you think your fucking funny

  • Don't know if there is any show better at matching a song with a scene than Scrubs. This is an extremely great example of that.

  • This video helped me more than anyone can believe. For half a year ago I was on the edge of comitting suicide, my school were just going downhill, and I was fighting with my father, lost contact with both my mom and my sister. Things couldn't be any worse and I just couldn't take it. That was the most painfull time of my life, this showed me how bad things could be. Sorry in advice, just had to get this of my shoulders.

  • Just a Brilliant bit of Acting and Script in General!

  • saddest episode EVER

  • It kills me when an awesome show like this is over..

i dont know how to discribe but it always hits me inside!

i love scrubs, so emotional <3

  • @BeabeaB34TB0Xsucks i dont think anything will ever beable to top this show

  • @Revivorofsouls1 Oh hell no, epic show<33

  • @BeabeaB34TB0Xsucks yea i know right after watching the last scene i was like so this is it huh the end then something felt empty in my life scrubs best show of all time

  • this is my favourite episode

  • this one and the finally were the saddest ones made me tear

  • this always makes me cry, makes me feel soo sorry for dr cox!

  • Comment removed

  • this is sooooo sad especially the last death and the music just compliments the whole situation.

  • thiss is one of my favbourite scrubs episodes its so sad...and ture

  • @GORILLLLAZ95 i agree

  • He's right, some days it just piles it on you. Everyone has a breaking point. To see a man of stone crumble is heartaching.

  • Isn't the chick at 0:33 the same one who becomes his "cold, emotionless" intern in season 8, and also has a large role in season 9?

  • @dudestr5552

    nice call. you are correct.

  • @dudestr5552 yes

  • this always makes me cry...and i didnt cry at the end of titanic nor at the end of toystory3

  • @bedbugsdobite

I cried at the end of Titanic, haven't seen toystory3 and this didn't make me cry. Up top!

  • @ShApEsHiFt3r Go watch Clannad. :3

  • @bedbugsdobite toy story 3 wasnt even sad but this almost made me cry, and i dont cry over movies or programs

  • I'm a writer and some-time journalism advisor, and I just had a young journalist call me the Dr. Cox to his JD. I guess I'm doing something right.

  • scrubs is the one show that can make you laugh one minute and then catch you off guard and crush you

  • Haha it's starts right after

    "What are you?"

    "I'm The Todd!"

  • 121 people deserve not to know How to Save a Life.

  • how can people dislike this?

    Really they must have missed?

I honestly am not saying this because i like the show, it's just generally a brilliant piece of writing of script, it captures the moment amazing.

Thumbs up for actual morals at the end of scrubs!

  • I love this show, love this song... I think Judy Reyes is absolutely beautiful during the climax of this scene.....

  • such a great episode brill acting love it x

  • I automatically cry everytime Dr. Cox says the first "clear", and just the complete emotion that he has.

  • its the laughter that makes it meaningful. Grays anatomy is too serious ALL the time to get the message across, it just comes across as whiny and preachy. Its the laughter that makes the sadness REALLY come through and see what really matters in the end.

  • How could anyone dislike this? It's just great, and shows what a class act Scrubs is/was, in that you could laugh one minute but feel every ounce of their pain the next.
