It is forbidden in the Americas and most European countries to ask a person what their religion is as part of employment. It's considered invasive discrimination - so you would have NO way to verify that any employee of the slaughterhouse was a Christian - and it wouldn't matter anyone because they have no dietary law or ritual slaughter.
The other problem with this advise is not only is the Shiekh assuming there are Christians living in the West like North America. These countries are mainly secular and Christian fellowship is in a sharp decline in an increasingly secular world. If you were able to find a slaughter house that was "Christian" (they don't exist ANYWHERE in the Americas of Europe) would the method be halaal (Christians don't HAVE ANY method); and how could you ensure the person doing the slaughter was a Christian?
(cont.) Jesus (as) is the Law and abolished all dietary restrictions including ritual slaughter. Until today, there is no difference between how a Christian slaughters meat and a kafar. They are the same. If one wants to make the argument that Jewish meat and Islamic meat is alike that is possible.
(cont.) St. Paul and St. Peter wrote letters to each other (second half of New Testament) in which they debate the dietary situation and circumcision issues for the Gentiles - do they need to become Jewish first (eat Kosher/halaal and undergo circumcision) or do they just accept the blood/message of Jesus (as). St Peter, a disciple of Paul instructed they MUST become Jewish - that is follow Jewish Law. St. Paul, previous murderer of Christians who never met Jesus (as) (cont.) said,
Unlike Jews and Muslims, Christians have no Law (Shari'a/Fiqh/Zabiha or Halakha/Kashrut/Kosher. Therefore there is no such thing as dietary laws or ritual slaughter. Jews were given commandments to stay away from PIG meat and Alcohol; Jesus (as) was a Jew and I find it impossible to think that he did not follow Jewish law. However, a few decades after his death, St. Paul spread the gospel (injel) to the Gentiles and wanted to make the message "easy" for them to accept. (cont.)
Astafghirullah! I hope any Muslim who cares about their Deen does not follow such non-sense. There is NO SUCH THING as "Christian" slaughtered meat. Please see a lecture on youtube by MSA at UBC called To Eat or Not to Eat. He gives a very through analysis - please don't risk the Hereafter by being misinformed.
