What is a bricked iPod? When your device gets bricked does it just delete everything or what? This is the only thing stopping me from JBing my iPod, and I don't even know what it is! Please help!

Pretty cool but you don't need software! Just unplug it from the computer. Turn it off. Hold the home and plug it in the computer and keep holding the home until the screen comes up saying plug it into itunes and it will come up in itunes. Then click restore. Then put your music, videos and so on and you are done

This is ridiculous I didnt even jailbreak my iTouch, I just tried to download the latest iTouch version (1.1.3 im guessing...) there was an error and next thing I knew my computer wont recognize my iTouch and it's just stuck on that Apple logo and connect to iTunes logo.. take the bricked ipod and unplug it from computer and then turn it off by holding top button and home button, wait till it is black screen and release buttons. Then hold the home button while reconnecting it to your computer with itunes already opened. this will bring it into recovery mode and you can press restore and will be just like new.... but not jailbroken anymore and without any music or videos or pictures.
I'm jailbroken in 1.1.2. and somehow now its definitely bricked with the swirl thing at passcode screen and constant restart. Hold down home & lock botton for SUPER long (Not that long) till it's says plug into iTunes. You plug it in then restore it.

heres wat happened to me
i was on a wifi network at Barnes and Noble (at&t)
i was on an fb app and then i downloaded a game, that i didnt play yet
i went back to fb and couldnt get into my inbox
then i couldnt check notifications
i left B&N and went to Panera wi-fi
the screen locked wen i got on fb
i held the 2 buttons to reset it and it went off
i tried to reset over 10 times, hooked it into my computer and it did the same thing

Pretty cool but you don't need software! Just unplug it from the computer. Turn it off. Hold the home and plug it in the computer and keep holding the home until the screen comes up saying plug it into itunes and it will come up in itunes. Then click restore. Then put your music, videos and so on and you are done

k i jailebreakd my iphone and it got accidently got unplugged when i was installing something and it was plugged in to charge it and it went back to the screen with the ipod cord plugging into the ituns disc well after i made my acc like put in a credit card number with itunes and succefuly registered my iphone i deleted itunes so i cant restore it white words are going down the screen saying bsd root: md0, major 2, minor0, i tried holding turn off button and home button but does the same shyt

Okay, first of all you can't brick the ipod touch, you can only brick the iPhone. Your ipod crashed and you had to restart because you went into safe mode. okay so you didn't freakin' brick it.

jailbreak= allowing 3rd party apps on your iphone/ipod touch( there are many vids on it)
bricking= when your ipod pretty much locks up
unbricking= un-doing a brick

This is ridiculous I didnt even jailbreak my iTouch, I just tried to download the latest iTouch version (1.1.3 im guessing...) there was an error and next thing I knew my computer wont recognize my iTouch and it's just stuck on that Apple logo and connect to iTunes logo.. With all the symptoms of being bricked.

this is probaly a stupid question but if you jailbrake your ipod and it gets broke like this guys or it want go off the apple sighn and you take it back to were you got it, will they fix it because you jailbroke it.
p.s i already tried to restore it many times and it always said that there was an unknown problem and wouldnt let me restore

take the bricked ipod and unplug it from computer and then turn it off by holding top button and home button, wait till it is black screen and release buttons. Then hold the home button while reconnecting it to your computer with itunes already opened. this will bring it into recovery mode and you can press restore and will be just like new.... but not jailbroken anymore and without any music or videos or pictures.

I'm jailbroken in 1.1.2. and somehow now its definitely bricked with the swirl thing at passcode screen and constant restart. I am trying to downgrade by holding shift and check update but it says unknown error can't update. It recongizes my ipod and everything, but won't downgrade and won't restore. WHAT SHOULD I DO!!!??? ANY help is appreciated

um so is the only way for it to brick is if u jailbreak it. also is the warranty void on the ipod if you jailbreak it or downgrade the newest firmware to the oldest.

i dont know for sure if my iPods Bricked bc at first, i tried to turn it on but the apple stayed on the screen for a long time. then, black and white lines flashed on the screen with the apple still on. there were two yellow buttons on the upper right corner. i think they were the Screenshot app. buttons. i was about to Restore it when it finally turned on. now that its on, theres nothing odd about it.
is it bricked? by the way that happened about 3 times before finally coming back to normal
