Hello I have a Question what Will run better? with a 2500 5 channel Amp? 12's Mtx Terminators or 12's Kicker Comps?

@arvizu619 Well MTX Terminators take 400watts each so they would be better suited to the more powerful amp and would be louder than the kickers. The kickers are for low powered amps so they only take 150watts each and won't be quite as loud but they are still loud enough for daily use. I guess its just down to personal preference and what your amplifier is suited to. Hope this helps.

Kicker comps are entry level, Type R's are not. Kicker comps are also only 150w rms, Type R's are 4x that amount. I think we all need to just except the facts here and end this flamewar here. Deal?

i might go for the bash 500.......500w@4 ohm like for less than $230.00 or maybe the bash 300 for $150.00..................... i was testing my sub using my old stereo receiver and a passive crossover and damn my subs barely move and its all loud...lol.....now just imagine with the 300w amp......the bass is going to be much cleaner and deeper...

i feel this setup is fine i dont really know to much about car subs but i do know plenty about dj subs. i am in the process of building a folded horn cab for my car which will run about 10 db louder than a 250 dollar ported cab and will be giving each kicker 170 rms and 240 peak.

yea im really kinda space limited because my room is small and even this pretty small 4.24cuft ported box takes up alot of room and i need a bigger amp because they are only gettin 120rms each. I was thinking about a folded horn but it sounded a bit complicated to build for my first enclosure and would be way to big for my room...

Thats ok, got one in my place, there big cheap and alot more fun putting together than an ordinary system and punch out some serious sound pressure, only thing is car subwoofers are designed for cars so the box which they are in has to change, but your system looks good, GOOD JOB

Take a look at my video response and tell me what you think, it's nothing big but it is running from a car amp and CAP, this setup is not as good but it is very cheap compared.

i was actually thinking bout getting some of those JBL's before i got my kickers. ur sub has so much more potential if it was mine i would build a nice 3cuft ported enclosure tuned @27-35hz depending on what music u listen to and if u use it for movies i would go 27-28hz. what size enclosure is it in now?

I'm not using a port, mines is sealed, if you want to listen to bassy music then don't port, it's a waste of pressure, the only reason for ports is to have a specific hz or because the sub is small and will not move much air, a 15" JBL however will, it shifts so much better with a sealed box rather than a ported one, my box is to diagram with sub, it is tunned to 23hz 50hz

actually the new box is great it hits really low and hard. it hits bass i love you slowed really well. the box is made from 18mm mdf because they dont stock 3/4" (19mm) mdf here. i will make a new vid soon at full volume i can get stuff literally bouncing off the walls. and so far no port noise it has 51" of square port area. 80mm (3.15") port width. calvin thought it was perfect for em

oh yea and the temporary boxes i had them in were 2.5ft^3 each @32hz so each had 2.5ft^3. and in the kicker manual it says max enclosure volume (ventedSPL/deepBass) is 2.25ft^3 each so its under 4.5ft^3 by .25ft^3. if i had made a sealed enclosure it would be half the size even though max recommended sealed is 3.5ft^3 each
