this might not be thr ight video to ask this question, but I need to know, regarding online-play in this game. Is it REQUIRED to be able to play online in order to beat this game, or will I be able to beat it in offline mode?

I found that to be the best soul farming in the game, and since i found no video showing it, i did it myself, it's crap quality but it fullfills it's duty and show you guys what i want to. @Bobdog1234567890 these guys, instead of respawning every time you go to a bonfire, you have to leave the area and come back. the method i found best was go to firelink, warp to princess chamber but dont rest there. then kill those guys, use a homeward bone or the miracle homeward, and that will take you back to firelink, then you can warp back to princess ect. its the best way if you dont mind loading screens
I'm on my 4th playthrough now,i did what you did on the video and you can net a little over 3 millions in one hour.I used symbol of avarice and a silver ring with a dragon,i don't remember it's name.Easily the best way to farm sous in the game if you have the levels to dispatch both of them quick.I can kill them two times in a minute.
Pretty cool stuff. I'm on the third playthrough though, and uh I need around 130,000 to level up. Tired of grinding, so only way for me to really level up is through the bosses. I hope the fourth playthrough gives more.
Easier than both ways, go to painted world, main room with about 8 enemies together then use any any magic/pyromancy/miracle (specially wrath of the gods) and kill them all together, you will get about 8000 souls, then go back to the bonfire. You can do that in 25 seconds...
Painted world is better for farming the first playthrough, but once you get to NG+, you get more souls in Darkroot Garden...I think it was like 6K more souls per run.
This is my farming method of choice, as well. Those guys are very easy to kill with strong pyromancy if you don't want to melee them, which can get tricky if you want to fight them both at once. But pyromancy obviously has AOE, so it's ideal for taking both down very efficiently.
@33niggerkiller You have to kill a black knight using the halberd. There is one in Darkroot Basin, but it is NOT a 100% drop. There are also black knights in the final area, Kiln of the First Flame, which also respawn. So if you have not acquired any or all of the black knight weapons, you can basically farm them here. Remember that humanity and certain items can affect drop rates, so it is recommended to optimize this unless you feel like fighting them often.
@33niggerkiller Sorry, I meant you have to kill the black knight who USES the halberd. The halberd wielding black knight, lol. But yeah, the locations are correct. Good luck! The halberd seems to be the preferred BK weapon since it has high base damage, albeit not the best stat scaling. Still, it's not sluggish like the great sword. Anyway, I hope this helps!

There's a way easier method. Get the bonfire in the darkroot garden, then use the Crest of Artorias to open the big door. Run through the forest, making sure everyone is following you, then get back the door, but stay in the forest. There's a ledge to the right of the door, stand on the absolute edge of it, and wait. Everyone will jump from above you and plummet. This can be done after the undead parish, get you 9000-10000 in less than a minute, and doesn't require any thought at all.
@OroboroTheNinja No I timed it, it's around 52 seconds. You don't run all around the forest, you run through it, past the sorcerer, all the way to the ledge (sprinting) and you sprint back, and wait. If anything, the wait could take longer than the sprint

@MrTomkat030 How did you manage that? Not saying it's impossible, but you must have killed them both in a few seconds every time and almost never died. I did 550,000 in an hour melee (with a few deaths).
You get 7K each run after the first time because not all of the ghosts respawn. Plus, sometimes the AI doesn't want to follow you all the way to the edge and they backtrack into the forest. For the first playthrough, the Painted World is definitely the easiest and quickest, just bring Firestorm or Fire Tempest with you. Once you get to NG+ I prefer farming (if you even need to anymore) in Darkroot Garden since you get more total souls.
i think its better not to kill gwynevere..cause you only fight 2 mobs and 10k souls,but if you dont kill her youll ifght lts say 15 mobs and gt 20-25k souls.
@Gwynimon the mobs there take forever to kill and give so little souls when you kill any of them compared to these two. If you don't want to farm and don't care about wasting time then sure.

Go to the painted world. Go where the slime spearmen are. Use Wrath of Gods to kill them. Bonfire really close so you get 3k souls in less than 30 seconds
@OroboroTheNinja dude, dont call me an idiot, not a good way to reply, and its easy to show, but 2 things strike me, 1, you are not able to do that much dmg to him lvl one, and 2, i saw that bloodstain of yours...
@LiesOfManOfficial 1. You can easily do that much damage at sl1. Lighting hand axe +5 does tons of damage. Also, bloodstain? When you die you leave a bloodstain, how does that show I'm not SL1? I have the whole entire playthrough clipped and livestreamed if you need any more proof really.
I'm like 10 + hours in this game and I'm at the first bell of awakening. I love everything about this game but the toughness of all the enemies, It's a fun game all around though.
@japcloud you lose the ability to join her covanent, as well as join the darkmoon covanent, and its adark, and you can use one of the fire keepers bonfires.
in new game+ just go to the darkwood garden, you get 21,000 souls in less then 5 minutes depending how much damage you do. This method isn't bad either though
@Harxelithn yeah but in new game plus off these guys you get about 30,000 souls and they can die in 2 chaos fire balls with ascended hand plus five if you bunch them up so its like 30,000 in 1 min.

@MikkiZHskDK This isn't a glitch. Once you kill Gwynevere, the optional boss in anor londo, anor londo will fall into twilight and these two guys will spawn outside of the boss room instead of the iron giants and when you kill them they give you 5k souls each. To make them spawn again you need to rest at the bonfire above the boss room so that is why he is using the homeward bone.
Everybody who glitched their character to a way higher soul level is a bitch.
Anyways, another good method is to farm the tiny skeletons from the room just before gravelord Nito. It takes a while but Its a good method. Wear the ring that gives higher drop rate because you can farm humanity from them as well. After an hour and 1/2 , I had 275,000 souls (First playthrough) and I stopped once I got 99 humanity. you can trade 1 humanity to kingseeker frampt for 1k a piece, so 1 1/2 hours = 365,000
what's the fun in that? same as glitching you get lots of souls... it just takes longer that's all really so kinda stupid for calling those people bitches while you yourself farmed over 100k souls on your first playtrough in like what 1/2 hours? but ohwell it's your game do what you want
@NarutoDipShit The fun isnt in glitching, nor is it in farming, I just think that if you have to break the game because you think its too hard, then you shouldnt be playing it. But I'm more of a serious player so if you dont want to put the time into it then thats up to you. I still strongly believe they are bitches if they have to do that. I farmed right before I fought the last boss, and it was just because I wanted to bump up my health and endurance a bit. It also took about 1 + 1/2 hours.

@NarutoDipShit I didnt take offense, its cool. I wasnt pointing fingers either so ya, it was mostly directed to other commenters in general who were saying "Easiest way is to glitch" . Ya 100+ was a lot, but I was level 80 at the time so after an hour or so I only leveled up about 9 times. I totally agree, after the first 10 hours it became a lot easier.

I dont get the need for farming... I went normaly thru the game and the chunk of souls came from soul items all over. u can easily reach SL 70 before you kill all 4 Lord Bosses
@SkyF0X9 i beat the ng at SL19 but with the Pyro Flame maxed out, that is +5 with Quelana of Izalith's flame, although that is enough souls to level up to SL 60. But, when glitching becomes farming and farming becomes glitching???. As long as you are ng++ you are allowed to glitch souls but at least do the ng+ deed with a non overgrown character, that is over SL65, right? i'll stop rambling now.
Don't know if you knew, but enemies scale with your level. at level 39, the Knights at anor lando had about 480 hp, at level 50 they had about 650+ . So if you stayed low level, and just spent all your souls on upgrading armor / weapons, and or pyromancy flame, you can pretty much tear through the game. Not to put you off or anything, but playing as a Pyro takes absolutely 0 skill. Iron flesh, and 800 dmg spammable spells kill anything in milliseconds.
@Capnflintlock i agree, Pyro is OP. Even at ng+ with the character leveled to SL60 it was kinda easy. The HP scale i haven't seen any formulas on the wiki's but it is clearly as you say. The fact of the matter about what i was meaning is that as long as you've already played ng and ng+ with any character, then you can glitch or farm or whatever you need to do to create a 120SL character to PvP.

@randomisraelite There is one little thing that makes this rpg unique in that your character's ability to "go past" a boss or a level does not rely on stats, A stats heavy rpg, i would consider, is the FF series and there is no way you could beat some parts of the game with some serious farming for those Break Hp/Damage items. To better understand, look at a speed run of Dark Souls. There is a guy that got to lvl 50++ in less than 1 and a half hours...

@redFIREballKID The dragon stone head soul dupe is a glitch. It was not intended in the game by the developers. This is proven because they are patching it out of the game in the upcoming 1.04 patch. Also IMO running through this game and leveling past the point where it is hard takes the fun out of this game. If you have any extra time to go back to Dark Souls I recommend playing it without farming the first playthrough.
I think the best way is in the dark root forest when you run and try to lure all the enemies there are 4 lure them all to the edge of the entrance and they will fall they give yoy 7000 souls 8200 if you have the silver serpent ring is faster tha way
@elsquall48 It's still not faster than this method, it takes just a tiny bit longer. I've tried them both and this method is faster if you kill these guys quickly. The forest is better for lower levels where these guys will kill you easily or you can't get to Anor Londo yet.
Then face away from the screen, the item you should have at the start of doing this is the dragon head stone, then the only other item is the soul you want to use. hit down on the left joystick, X, down on the analog controls, then x again, doesnt matter how fast you do it. if done correctly, your guys should start to breathe fire and use the soul at the same time, and if you hold x the 2nd time, you will use the soull over and over, i wracked up 75 Million.
@Rootwoot101 my mate dun tht technique and got loads of souls..but its cheating and isnt ful filling..prefer to grind for my souls feels more rewarding :)

Okay you all have the worst, farming techniques. 1st off, go to Ash Lake and go to the end and find the elder dragon. Join his covenant, and equip the dragon head stone he gives you. you need either a grass ring or a grass shield, the ones that increase your endurance recov. once you have the head on, equip a soul thing like a soul of proud knight, then face away from the screen. make sure the only 2 items u have are the dragon stone head and the soul you want to use.
My method is better
with silver serpent ring and mimic head its 12k souls in 30 seconds 20K in NG+

@LiesOfManOfficial 1. You can easily do that much damage at sl1. Lighting hand axe +5 does tons of damage. Also, bloodstain? When you die you leave a bloodstain, how does that show I'm not SL1? I have the whole entire playthrough clipped and livestreamed if you need any more proof really.

I'm like 10 + hours in this game and I'm at the first bell of awakening. I love everything about this game but the toughness of all the enemies, It's a fun game all around though.

in new game+ just go to the darkwood garden, you get 21,000 souls in less then 5 minutes depending how much damage you do. This method isn't bad either though

@Harxelithn yeah but in new game plus off these guys you get about 30,000 souls and they can die in 2 chaos fire balls with ascended hand plus five if you bunch them up so its like 30,000 in 1 min.

@MikkiZHskDK This isn't a glitch. Once you kill Gwynevere, the optional boss in anor londo, anor londo will fall into twilight and these two guys will spawn outside of the boss room instead of the iron giants and when you kill them they give you 5k souls each. To make them spawn again you need to rest at the bonfire above the boss room so that is why he is using the homeward bone.

Everybody who glitched their character to a way higher soul level is a bitch.
Anyways, another good method is to farm the tiny skeletons from the room just before gravelord Nito. It takes a while but Its a good method. Wear the ring that gives higher drop rate because you can farm humanity from them as well. After an hour and 1/2 , I had 275,000 souls (First playthrough) and I stopped once I got 99 humanity. you can trade 1 humanity to kingseeker frampt for 1k a piece, so 1 1/2 hours = 365,000

@NarutoDipShit The fun isnt in glitching, nor is it in farming, I just think that if you have to break the game because you think its too hard, then you shouldnt be playing it. But I'm more of a serious player so if you dont want to put the time into it then thats up to you. I still strongly believe they are bitches if they have to do that. I farmed right before I fought the last boss, and it was just because I wanted to bump up my health and endurance a bit. It also took about 1 + 1/2 hours.

@NarutoDipShit I didnt take offense, its cool. I wasnt pointing fingers either so ya, it was mostly directed to other commenters in general who were saying "Easiest way is to glitch" . Ya 100+ was a lot, but I was level 80 at the time so after an hour or so I only leveled up about 9 times. I totally agree, after the first 10 hours it became a lot easier.

I dont get the need for farming... I went normaly thru the game and the chunk of souls came from soul items all over. u can easily reach SL 70 before you kill all 4 Lord Bosses

@SkyF0X9 i beat the ng at SL19 but with the Pyro Flame maxed out, that is +5 with Quelana of Izalith's flame, although that is enough souls to level up to SL 60. But, when glitching becomes farming and farming becomes glitching???. As long as you are ng++ you are allowed to glitch souls but at least do the ng+ deed with a non overgrown character, that is over SL65, right? i'll stop rambling now.

Don't know if you knew, but enemies scale with your level. at level 39, the Knights at anor lando had about 480 hp, at level 50 they had about 650+ . So if you stayed low level, and just spent all your souls on upgrading armor / weapons, and or pyromancy flame, you can pretty much tear through the game. Not to put you off or anything, but playing as a Pyro takes absolutely 0 skill. Iron flesh, and 800 dmg spammable spells kill anything in milliseconds.

@Capnflintlock i agree, Pyro is OP. Even at ng+ with the character leveled to SL60 it was kinda easy. The HP scale i haven't seen any formulas on the wiki's but it is clearly as you say. The fact of the matter about what i was meaning is that as long as you've already played ng and ng+ with any character, then you can glitch or farm or whatever you need to do to create a 120SL character to PvP.

@randomisraelite There is one little thing that makes this rpg unique in that your character's ability to "go past" a boss or a level does not rely on stats, A stats heavy rpg, i would consider, is the FF series and there is no way you could beat some parts of the game with some serious farming for those Break Hp/Damage items. To better understand, look at a speed run of Dark Souls. There is a guy that got to lvl 50++ in less than 1 and a half hours...

This seems a good farming method alright, just wanted to ask do those two guys only spawn in a Dark Anor Londo? I recall there being 2 Elite Giants in sunny Anor Londo.
Good to know some people actually still lvl up normaly and don't do the Dragon Glitch.

@redFIREballKID The dragon stone head soul dupe is a glitch. It was not intended in the game by the developers. This is proven because they are patching it out of the game in the upcoming 1.04 patch. Also IMO running through this game and leveling past the point where it is hard takes the fun out of this game. If you have any extra time to go back to Dark Souls I recommend playing it without farming the first playthrough.

I think the best way is in the dark root forest when you run and try to lure all the enemies there are 4 lure them all to the edge of the entrance and they will fall they give yoy 7000 souls 8200 if you have the silver serpent ring is faster tha way

@elsquall48 It's still not faster than this method, it takes just a tiny bit longer. I've tried them both and this method is faster if you kill these guys quickly. The forest is better for lower levels where these guys will kill you easily or you can't get to Anor Londo yet.

Then face away from the screen, the item you should have at the start of doing this is the dragon head stone, then the only other item is the soul you want to use. hit down on the left joystick, X, down on the analog controls, then x again, doesnt matter how fast you do it. if done correctly, your guys should start to breathe fire and use the soul at the same time, and if you hold x the 2nd time, you will use the soull over and over, i wracked up 75 Million.

Okay you all have the worst, farming techniques. 1st off, go to Ash Lake and go to the end and find the elder dragon. Join his covenant, and equip the dragon head stone he gives you. you need either a grass ring or a grass shield, the ones that increase your endurance recov. once you have the head on, equip a soul thing like a soul of proud knight, then face away from the screen. make sure the only 2 items u have are the dragon stone head and the soul you want to use.
