I would like to thank you for making these tutorial video on how to make a chainmail........and you really REALLY did make it REALLY easy to learn and even make it........keep up making these helpful video......Now I am making my own chainmail suit (Roman Lorica Hamata)....though I started this year to make it........I've got a question here....how long would it take to make a chainmail suit which is thigh length and sleeveless?
Hey I was looking at a cordless drill whith a 12v battery for like twenty buck but I wasn't sure if that was strong enough. Plus i've herd of poeple having problems with there drill motors burning out from the turque.
thats true. It might work. Unless you want to dish out more for a better one wind it... then cut the one you made then do it all over again to give the drill down time. You should be A okay!
not yet. ive been working really hard lately to try and do that. hopefully one will be on its way. no promised just yet, theres still a lot of work! but i hope there is one up soon!
well yes 1/2 will work but thats usualy too big. try something like 3/8, 1/4, 5/16. some of these are more common. thanks for the question. if you have any more just ask!
you know that galvanized metal has chemicals on it that can make your clothes stink and the chemicals have been known to cause birth defects ... so maybe you should google it and such .
not bad... it might just be the pressure that different people apply. Sometimes my hand gets realy sore from doing that. i actualy usualy only do two at a time as well!
u should try sharpened side cutters. they are a bit slower than bolt cutters, but provide a very clean cut. after sharpening i have almost vertical cuts. it looks like u have a big angle on your cuts. also if u use a sharpened tool then it provides MUCH less resistance, making it easier on the hands. i also use sharpened aviation cutters which seem to work better for anything thicker than 14g, and the side for smaller than 16. these methods provide the cleanest vertical cuts... fyi
Thanks! I will have to look into donig that. Yes I do have angles, but at 90 degrees to each other, thus when pushed together close nicely! Thanks again!
how much does the wire cost? i cant seem to find anywhere that has the prices listed

you can also use a dremmel to cut the rings off of the dowel. that is the fastest way to cut the rings

yeah man nice vid again uhh again thanks but try using quarter inch rings for 4 in 1(more protection and quality
medievallover120 3 years ago
thanks man I can do that. Again the rings were only done for deminstration. The 1/2 are great for 6 in 1 or 8 in 1 though. Thanks for the input!
