I understand your viewpoint. Hip Hop producers sample other people music and basically recreate something new out of bits of music from so many different sources. Most producers may sample a 5 second vocal piece from a certain single and build around it with their own production of piano,drum, violin samples. I view it more as creating a collage out of many genres of music that you thought could never flow together.(Listen to Nujabes and I hope you can reconsider your opinion a bit)

It's really unnecessary to generalize about some rappers who do so...and even so, rapping in some cases focuses more on lyricism and flow than music...in essence, the music sampled creates an atmosphere for the lyrics or the poetry, it makes it into a story that is able to make lyrics more meaningful. I do understand what you mean, but please read about the history of hip hop and rap (Rythm.And.Poetry)
