In my view, the police who blockaded melbourne to allow the g20 meeting to go ahead deserved everything they got from the violent protesters. Not on any personal level but simply because of their mere presence, they were saying they advocate the g20 and their actions by protecting the meeting and i am outraged about the media hype over a damaged police truck and lighly injured officers when half the world is starving largely due to issues involving many of the g20 members.

next time, don't be surprised if a very well trained, disciplined group of citizens get on Arterials case, and arrest quite a few.

WRONG TARGET .. the protest should have been at the Chinese consulate. Rallying against the SLAVE labor rates enforced by a tyranical government thats WHY these multinationals send their manufacturing there.
Higher wages in China... more jobs in Australia. Simple really.

I don't get it. Why all this BS? Melbourne is probably one of the most peaceful cities in the world. Why do people need to be complete fuckwits? You think smashing a police vehicle is going to make the world bank think twice about making money? No fucking way. It DOES do something, The organizers of these meetings have a hell of a time finding a city that accepts housing something that will cost a lot of police forces, and many losses in damages. And those huge corporations are capitalists one, every monetary loss is much more important to them than telling them "you're exploiting and destroying the world, please stop!".

anarchy. You should consider how a well trained citizen might react to his tax dollar funded Police Van being vandalized.
Section 421 Crimes Act.1900 allows for self defense using reasonable force. Given that 'biting' occured, "reasonable" could include the infliction of unconsciousness of a protestor or 3 with some well placed elbow smashes. Not 2 mention citizens arrest.

Yep, that's cool. Sorry, I didn't mean to say "defending", but yeah, you get my point, I hope. And the main point of my post is just that; everyone is demonizing the bloc as if it were "Fascists" and "thugs", and no one is giving a balanced view of it, or even just reporting on what happened. Hence why I like this, it's not demonizing, or supporting, just reporting. (what a rhyme!)

This is just what i saw. Im not defending Artieral bloc. However i am pissed off with the media demonizing all of the protesters, when it was only those guys causing trouble. Yes there is a bigger picture and I can only hope people look through the bullsh!t and find some truth.
