Watch this video and whenever Patrick is in the frame, focus entirely on him, hes a dedicated motherfucker to that drum set. When he plays he lets it completely control him.
@BlisterOnTheMoon each to his own, i guess. i feel like comparing brothers to rubber factory is unfair, sorta apples and oranges. i like 'em both. i like this kinda stuff for partying and getting energized. i like brothers after a long day and just listening to it and letting the groove take over me.
@waygonner Yeah, I think you're right. As you can see from my info I'm a big fan of the old import guitars from the 60's and 70's. It's amazing how they give such a great range of nasty sounds. I particularly like the Harmony Stratotone he plays on the 'Live at Abbey Road' sessions. Check out ebay and see how these guitars have grown in value!
@cheaptwangers Good call. I have several Harmony and Silvertone guitars from the '60s. Those D'Armond pickups are amazing! I think it is cool that Dan threw a set of P-90s in his though.
@waygonner yeah, if you want 'growl' in your sound, it's hard to beat P-90's. I am partial to the 'gold foils' on Teisco-family guitars from the 60's and 70's.
Not too much groove for me...just the fist pumping. I went to their concert in Iowa City and people were throwing up the horns...idk, I hear the Keys and I feel like jumping around and moving my hips and grinding. It's not a Sick Puppies concert, you know?
people gravitate to sincerity- no wonder the black keys are so enjoyable to listen to- it is honest, all out, straight from the soul and in your face..."stack shot billy, sent him away to the promised land..."-i can almost see the scenes from some scorsese movie- real talent, real artists- enough said.
Dan Auerbach is "i think" the most underrated musician in the world, look at this guy... fuckin all you gotta do is watch him... his solo stuff is incredible aswell... the guy just has it like fuck....
...sounds like simon kirk and paul rodgers only it's the same guy. i'll bet bad company was a strong influence to the front man. the drummer is old school john bonham style. love it love it love it!!!
@Jediswordfighter normally I would say that facial hair has no significance in the matter but I saw the keys both when Dan had a beard and when he was clean shaven. They definitely went way harder and played much louder when he had the beard. Who'd a thunk....
Bitchcracker and a half, these guys rule so hard. If you ever have a chance to see the BLACK KEYS IN CONCERT, GO TO THE SHOW! Or regret it the rest of your days.
i breath each note in like much needed oxygen after a seeming lifetime of suffocating so called music (and the worst thing is, either you cant understand who you are out there because of missing brain cells or simply your arrogant and stupid) but no more down-bringing quips, however much they need to be said and kept in mind at all times, LETS ENJOY MUSIC AT LAST!

Left lane cruisers version of this song is better than any black keys version I have heard yet. And they are playing it in a small bar.

@spicyMcHAGGIS9green I think its a Guyatone...fairly obscure guitar from the same era as the teiscos

@Timeconsumer9 Im fairly positive it is Open D...makes slide guitar sound great and gives the song a huge sound with all of those open ringing notes!
