@DeepeeMe He is touching it. As soon as he closes the lid his other hand is holding the box by the bottom. There's a mechanism on the underside of the box that tilts the can down onto it's side. After he performs the illusion, he pics the box up with one hand on the bottom and as he's handing it to the spectator he tilts the can back up using the same mechanism.
I know that the can is layed down on it's side, but how do he 'tilt' it and raise it back up without touching it?
