@mta6local ....I make enough money to live comfortably and to help low lives such as yourself.......and where does my girlfriend come into this? At least I have one and don't have to jerk off to porn LOL
@filipino0614 actually not, maybe the journy is not long thats y it took off in short time cz of the fuel, they only take fuel they need, it decreases the weight of the air craft
that's just B.S. A quick check on wikipedia shows that the A380 is faster, and needs a shorter runway at higher take-off weight and has a longer range (even if compared to the extended range 747).
@Martinit0 like all airbuses its underpowered... the 747 still is the fastest..even faster then the 777.200er. look at the wieght and size of the airbus 380 compared to the 747... the 380 will not and cannot use less runway then a 747.. impossible...
@inbound1000 sure the a380 can it all depends on the takeoff weight, if the a380 is empty its not going to take as much space as a fully loaded 747, but the bigger the plane the bigger the takeoff run is at max takeoff weight, and what do you mean by the 747 being the fastest plane, in the air or taking off, or landing, as far as i know the L1011 has the fastest cruising speed at .95 mach at FL350, compared to the 747 at around .86 mach at FL350.(subsonic passenger planes)
Yeah, it's an extremely light load. This JAL 744 must be doing a short hop as an immediate stop during a long haul. The aircraft isn't even using Flaps 20, which is the standard takeoff flaps for a 747-400, it's using Flaps 15 which is used for really light loads and a steep climbout. Great catch!
@omarbadr36 Wheel drag has no effect on lift created by the wings and the thrust created by the engines. Actually, the cooler air likely increases the performance of the engines due to a denser air charge. Go look at mythbusters they tested this on a smaller scale
@audioentertainment That's not correct. If the wheels are having to push through water on the runway, it will slow down the takeoff roll. The Mythbusters tested a dry surface, and their results turned out as expected (as a pilot would expect them to). But runway contamination will decrease the rate of acceleration, leading to a longer takeoff roll.
I'm no expert, but the windsock indicates a very strong headwind. By my reckoning of the windsock angle, it could be about 25 knots of headwind. Very likely to cut down the take off run by quite a few seconds. Another point to note is that JAL 747s fly some domestic routes in Japan and the bulk of the passengers are made up of day trip business travellers. Which means not much weight in luggage on board.
it seems, the plane had had very strong headwind, that's why there was enough driving force so early, and the pilot had used 30°(or 40?) flaps (as always, at t/o), increasing the wing area. Anyway, there could be light load too... :-)
yeah, he definitely had headwind...not to mention probably a VERY light load - judging by the fact JAL went bankrupt and just finished restructuring recently (they also reverted back to their old logo w/ a little added touch).
Retired Navy pilot.....lol...You can always spot them easily, they take off and land in very short distances cause they are so used to landing on carriers...lol
this seems like a normal take off the take off i was in was like wtf the plane i was in was running so late as soon as it turn into the runaway that bastered turned on everything meanwhile like as soon as we turn wwere speeding in the middle of the runway they were saying the instructions like so late and we were already in the air lol

short distance flight = less fuel
Possibly low payload causing a very small gross take-off weight.
Take off could be in the same direction as the wind. Thus pilots rotate after a short distance. I THINK! (Pilot wannabe)

haha I saw China Airlines's flower ya! Taiwan!!

could've been taking off against the wind; that makes air flow faster across the wings, thus getting the required lift earlier.
