  • The Concorde flew to Iceland?!?! Why?!?! There's NOTHING there.........it's just a big rock?!

  • @Gydronats the fact that it had no flaps is what I was talking about...kt means knots (nautical miles per hour) and under 10k refers to the regulation that aircraft without any special clearance aren't allowed to travel more than 250 knots under 10000 feet for atc separation, etc

  • Nice... The sound of that reverse thrust is a reminder that you're not in just any jet plane.

  • i ve shit in mi pants man ...ufff..

  • @qwertdr Indeed Sir and without even reason for why. However wonderful video and praise for the up loading.

  • Flew it once when I was 6... Pity I can't remember it properly. I remember it was a fairly comfortable flight though.

  • does anyone know if they made exceptions for the concorde when it came to the 250kt under 10k?

I can imagine that a fully loaded concorde with no flaps needed over 250 on climb out at times

  • @manifestgtr Yes. They received special clearance to travel at 300kt.

  • @manifestgtr Two things about your comment I would like to point out:

    1. Concorde has no high-lift devices whatsoever (flaps, slats, etc.) so the 'with no flaps' is totally irrelevant

    2. What does 'kt' and 'k' mean? I could guess, but I prefer to hear from you.

  • Why didn't you film it going over the speed of sound?

  • Did all Concorde pilots update passengers like this in every flight?. Interesting.

  • Hi,

I think that the voice was a robot.

  • How does turbulence feel at Mach 2?

  • @TinnInches

Answer: like nothing, because there IS NO turbulence. :)

By the time Concorde reached M2.02, it was at an altitude where the effects of turbulence were essentially non-existent. Both BA and AF loved to advertise the "no turbulence in supersonic flight" bit quite a lot!

  • Sounds like a 737 to me.......

  • @prglg Thats a Concord Window buddy;

  • @16piller16lol Ok, but still sounds like a 737 for me....at least from inside....

  • how do the reverse thrust of the concorde work

  • @CaptainFelixTan1

At the back of each engine is are two half-ring shaped "buckets" that can move up and down. During reverse thrust, they both move together to form the shape of a clam-shell, and it's directly in front of the exiting thrust. The now-sealed buckets force the thrust flow to split, some of it goes upward and forward, some of it goes downward and forward... but it has the effect of slowing the ship down.

The engines themselves don't reverse, just the thrust-flow once it's out.

  • @ImmortalSynn thx

  • Thank you, great video!

  • Curiously Why do they need to retract the visor?

  • @64MojoMan

The nose (and visor) dip for more visibility during landing. (The nose is very long)

  • @64MojoMan

If you mean extend the visor, that is because the nose of the aircraft is quite large and hinders visibility during take off and landing as the angles of attack are quite high during t/o and landing. The more your pilot can see, the better! Trust me it is quite difficult to land when you can't see!

If you did indeed mean retract, that is because it streamlines the shape of the aircraft thus reducing drag and allowing higher airspeeds.

    =)

  • @azza25 your right i ment lower it!

  • How much did it cost the plane ticket?

  • you my friend are a very lucky man. flying on the greatest aviation achievement of all time.

  • wow wonderful video thank you.

  • You are SOOOOOO lucky!

  • Try building one of those America!

You were SOOOO lucky to fly on Concorde! It still looks modern if it was built today!

  • @Squats200

And just think, it was designed and built before a time where not only the PC, but even the handheld-calculator, didn't yet exist!

  • @Squats200

and just think, it was designed and built at a time where not only the PC, but even the handheld calculator, didn't exist yet!

  • @Squats200

and just think, it was designed and built at a time where not only the desktop computer, but even the handheld calculator, didn't exist yet!

  • yeaaaahh!!!!

  • man that thing is fast

  • power is the word

  • how long did it take to get there???

  • Is the really the captain talking? I thought that he would be busier than that in the landing and take off stages of the flight.

  • i lovethe way the captain talks to everyone not like today hello welcome ......... goodbye

  • @xboxlivegstar11 Yeah I know what you mean! When I went from London to Orlando the only things the captain said were "hi welcome aboard etc...the meal is....The movie is....goodbye!" lol

  • @Doinkatron Since when does the captain of a commercial aircraft inform its passengers what the meals and movies onboard are? That is the job of the cabin crew.

  • Thank you for posting this video - it is most appreciated. I seen the Concord crusing in front of Waikiki Beach and it was an amazing experience. I am sorry that it had to be discontinued....

  • Amazzing great video!!!

  • @qwertdr well stars are "suns" so to speak. but yeh gravity crushes them once they burn out gravity crushes them. and in most cases causes a super nova.

  • This thing accelerates faster than an F1 car!

  • I wonder if the concorde has broken windows with its sonic booms.

  • this plane is fast

  • well you know what smart-ass i didn't know that at the time so just shut up

  • wow how old is this vid those ground handlin cars look ancient, no offence

  • @SIPHNEY well i was 7 when i saw the 4th to last one fly from birmingham airport, and im 14 now. soooo... 2003? cars didnt start looki modern till late 05 to be fair

  • Wow didn't know that the captain gives constant reports as though you are flying the aircraft.

    Precious video.

  • Looks too bumpy

  • damn i was sorta looking for a sonic boom but cool vid anyways

  • If you just look at the seats, you can see that it's a Concorde you dum********s

  • i never knew the concord had reversers

  • Some Great sounds of Concorde!!! :P

  • That's really cool that the captain informs you of takeoff and landing status... the plane seems to be pretty quiet from this video... and the engine seems to be more of a moan then a roar.

  • Great Vid, I flew on this bird back in 1999 and have the honour these days of working with alot of ex-concorde staff as I now work for BA - got the job the day Concorde made its last ever flight :-(

Any vid that has the cabin experiance of a conorde takeoff and landing is great in my eyes - only a few ever recorded this and no one ever will again. Thankyou

  • Thanks for comments. However, if I were a film crew and had the latest gizmo recording equiptment a lot of the quality would be lost on compression that was required to meet the max size stipulated by Youtube - sorry! Unfortunately, I was a tourist like most people and had a "crappy" camcorder

  • @nithakorn I like that I could have heard it. I wanted to know what it sounded like.

  • @nithakorn it would also involve going back in time.

  • whats the wind noise? air leak? he said something that they have to come back...I understand something like that...maybe I´m wrong...

  • ver nice video good

  • captain is talking, very cool

  • Ay Caramba!

  • Lol, the word in the US is jackass, in case you ever need it.

  • I would think with business travelers now days, there would be a big demand for another supersonic jet. 3 hours to Paris from NY? wow! I wish I could have ridden on it.

  • Almost as noisy as a bomber

  • I wonder why they dont build another supersonic passgenger jet. Not enough demand?

  • thankyou!

  • whats wrong with the sounds?? was the door not complete closed or what=?

  • @soundlikeFabian if it wasnt the door would of been ripped off. and then it would tear a massive hole in the side and pull all the passangers out. and it would loose cabin preasure and the plane would crash. i dont think your suggestion is right. the thing goes faster then soung, what make you think its quiet

  • Good for you! I am sick and tired of how stupid and nasty comments are made so needlessly on You Tube.

Glad you enjoyed your Concorde experiences. I managed it twice thanks to Frequence Plus!

And before anyone has a go at me...The French refer to it as "Le Concorde" (The Concorde) whereas most others say Concorde. Neither is right or wrong. Its just the way it is.

  • i always wanted to fly on the concorde. but i had no where to go. :P and i want to go to iceland

  • my mum and dad went on loads of concorde flights to america and paris!

  • @robagl what about the other 10, you said 20.

  • Thank you for "taking us" on Concorde =)

  • It is not the communication between pilots, the pilot is telling the passengers some flight details. It might be a special flight, VIP, or I don't know.

  • Amazing video ... Thank you

  • you got lucky to travel in Concorde

    this is a great video

    Congratulations

  • We have stopped arguing, over a week ago.

Anyway I think youll find the comments against the USA are made in response to some arrogant American twat droning on about how great the USA is and how shit everyone else is. E.g. Concorde is an exotic expensive piece of shit. The USA is the king of aviation

If the Americans didnt think they were better than everyone else, then they wouldnt get slated by everyone else.

  • @groundhog2008 kasakstan is greatest country in the world. all other countrys are run by little girls.

  • While Concorde was being developed ,the yanks started developing their own SST, the Boeing 2707.After pouring more money in the design of the 2707 than the total amount of money spent developing Concorde, the 2707 was cancelled due to design complications. Following this the Americans became anti SST and the British had a long battle getting Concorde landings allowed in the USA. Permission was denied due to jealousy. Americans are not the best at everything, they just think they are.

  • I'm a racist piece of shit? I've explained my points in detail and this is the best you got? Go back to your pokemon you toothless immigrant.

  • Buddy, you, like most Americans are an ignorant moron!

I bet youve never even stepped foot outside of the United States.

If you have then youre in a minority as the average American doesnt have a passport.

The last time I was in America, a local asked me if Id driven there from the UK!

  • Surprise, Eurofag! I was born in Spain. I have spent at least some time in nearly every European country. I have spent a LOT of time in London actually. You have no idea who you're talking to, 'mate'. I'm sorry that your has-been irrelevant failfag pussified socialist country sucks balls. I understand that you're butthurt about it. And comparing passport ownership with Americans doesn't mean much really - you almost NEED one in Europe because you can't go 400 miles in any direction without one.

  • I know exactly who I'm talking to, a complete arrogant moron who talks real big behind his keyboard about who he and the USA are so great and everything else, every one else and every other country sucks. You're a real nice guy, bet you're a real hit with the ladies!

  • Well it was the English and Germans who invented both the jet engine and the rocket engine. And it was an English who invented the internal combustion engine and the steam engine. So with out us Eurofags as you put it, you Americans, nor anyone else, would be going into space, flying or driving anywhere!!

Also if America produces the best aircraft, why does the US Marine Corps rely on the British harrier jump jet?

  • There is a long list of people lined up to claim credit for the invention of the steam engine and the combustion engine. It depends who you talk to, and how primitve you are willing to go before you say 'this is the first one'. (ex: Holland / 1680) And your Harrier example is a terrible one. Firstly, that is ONE aircraft, and the UK has a long history of employing MANY American aircraft. Secondly, the harrier is a piece of shit. The Marines hate it and always have. Slow, short range, hard to fly

  • Like I said, Americans just think they're the best at everything, doesn't mean they actually are.

  • Sorry, I meant to say, it's not JUST an American thing. My point is that every headstrong male from every damn country has some damn chain of evidence that proves why his country is so awesome, no matter how decrepit and irrelevant it might be. Wouldn't you agree that we are all a bit like this?

  • @HotChilliPizza hey im an american and i love most european countries

  • @ar15expert rofl toothless immigrant. thats my new phrase ftw

  • great flight

  • AWESOME INDEED..without this video I will never know for sure!!Thanks for sharing the sensation of the supersonic plane. The fare is enough money for my downpayment on a house LOL's.

  • You really are an arsehole aren't you ImmortalSynn? So many European cars may have yank metal, but thankfully you lot don't build the cars. Like I originally said, if you could be bothered to read, it was a yank plain that was poorly maintained by yanks, who just couldn't be arsed, that led to bits falling off that DC10.

  • USA is king of aviation? Dont make me laugh, why is it Boeing poach lots of British engineers? YOur jealous cos usa could never build anything like this cos your just tooooo thick

  • It's funny how the English (and Eurofags in general) always have some little 'in' ... some little factoid that is supposed to negate decades of obvious leadership by the USA. About the NASA Apollo missions they would point out that Van Braun was a German ... as if that is supposed to deny the USA? Huh? Sorry 'mate', but the USA is first in flight. I know you're butthurt over it. Show me your stealth bombers, stealth fighters, reusable orbiters, your moon landers, strategic bombers, etc ... nope!

  • Yeah whatever keeps you happy. Think the russians were in space first werent they? Hey buddy....your a clueless twat

  • Hey guess what you stupid nigger, the SOVIETS were the first in space, not the "Russians". Who's the clueless faggot now? I am fully aware that the USSR put the first satellite in space and the first man in space. The USSR does deserve credit for this. However, the USA was RIGHT behind them (literally Shephard was scheduled to go into space like a WEEK after Gagarin). And this was the last time that anybody was anywhere CLOSE to the USA in terms of space accomplishment. Sorry your country sucks.

  • Ok for a start im not black ok? Was it not NASA who spent millions on developing a space pen and the russians just used a pencil? UK has a big space industry making over £5 billion a year from 225 million input. For a small country we have had way more influence in the world than you ever have or ever will. British are liked........

  • Who said anything about black? Are you a racist or something? Ahhh ... more little meaningless 'tidbits' designed to make Eurofags and commies feel better about their shitty countries. We went to the moon 40 years ago and you're complaining that we use pens in space? You're making my point beautifully. WOW, you have a 'space industry'! How cute. The British are 'liked'? By who? Equally worthless EU members and brutal scam-artist 3rd world tyant governments? That's nothing to brag about, 'mate'.

  • Nigger is a noun in the English language, most notable for its usage in a derogatory context to refer to black people, and also as an informal slang term, among other contexts. The word originated as a term used in a neutral context to refer to black people, as a variation of the Spanish/Portuguese noun negro, itself a variation of the Latin adjective niger, meaning "black".

We have something here called a history, what do you have? YOu GOD DAM COCK SHUCKING SHUN OF A BITCH

  • Haha, you've been trolled. I don't equite 'nigger' with black people. 'Nigger' means 'ridiculous idiot'. This is the new way. You didn't get the memo? Of course the UK and Europe in general have a shitload of history. As you well know Western civilization didn't even arrive over here until 500 years ago, and even then in small amounts. And if you go FURTHER east from the UK you get even MORE history. Like Egypt or Iraq. Does that make those countries great? Nope, they are god-awful shitholes.

  • Difference is there are some good people there and they have an interesting history and we used to run their countries back in the day. The histroy you did have IE the Indians you managed to murder, nothing has really changed has it?

  • Right, because the USA is the king of military action against native populations, right? I can probably drag up at least 300+ years of English history that would dwarf our conflict with the native americans. Haha, Americans THEMSELVES were once victims of English tyranny. But we fought hard and killed your grip on the Americas. And I don't think England is a bad country because of this. I just don't think the USA is either. This is all ancient history, water under the bridge.

  • And furthermore, what does this have to do with aviation? Are you out of ammo or something? It sure sounds like it. I actually happen to like the English. But something has happened to you lately. Your worthless liberal press (similar to ours actually) has bombarded you 24 hours a day with anti-US sentiment, to the point where you have illusions that the USA is a terrible country and that your little has-been island is vastly superior (even in space??!!). We are old friends and should remain so.

  • @ar15expert id realy like it if you stoped using th word "euro fags" thankyou

ps you a twat. :D SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI SOI

  • @iixwh3l4nxii Nobody cares, kid. Run along now. Eurofaggot.

  • @ar15expert wow cool to see after a year your still an active youtube user. was meary joking around when i said your a twat. read my other comments im not some little uk fanboy kid. us is cool but so is uk. there both great countrys

  • @iixwh3l4nxii Both are great. I've lived in both. Plus Spain. I just argue with anyone for any reason. It's like a video game for me.

  • was that the captain who talked to you guys thru the pa wish they did that on every flight that wasnt a concorde too

  • wE SHOULD DO A PETITION FOR IT TO COME BACK!!!!

  • the concordes were gass hogs they were to expensive to run. i heard that there was like no leg room on them is that true?

  • Very... and the tiny windows!

  • They should put the concorde back in business again

  • Wow, well done! Very entertaining and informative: 5 stars :o) !!!

  • No The yanks make everything of poor quality stewie and as always they ruin everything else for the rest of the world.

  • ...anyone who uses "always" in an argument reveals him/herself for the ignorant fool that they are.

That said, I'm curious as to whether you realize that the Airbus A320 has 40% American parts and the A330 44% (ever wonder why Iran has never been able to purchase either of the above?)... and that several UK-made automobiles are chock full of American metal?

What ya gonna do now-- start walking everywhere you want to go? ;)

  • Interesting you should mention cars. After all, let's not forget that most American cars are designed (and owned) in Germany and built in Mexico. Let's also remember that there are many foreign components is US built aircraft. Why all the debate about who builds what using what ever proportion of foreign parts? As long as any plane I travel on is not built in China or Taiwan, I don't care! Euro/American manufacturing standards are basically the same and both are fine by me!

  • "As long as any plane I travel on is not built in China or Taiwan"

...hate to break this to you, but you do realize that the Airbus A320 will now be built in China as well, do you not?

  • Oh dear, well there's one to avoid! I suppose it was inevitable given the obsession we have in the Western world with cheap production costs. Although, I'm sure the planes will be built to a higher standard than their toys and electronic goods, I just cannot overcome the knowledge that China seemingly have a cultural deficiency when it comes to quality control and engineering standards...

  • For the Chinese market....

  • If it wasn't for a poorly maintained american pice of crap on which part of it fell onto that infamous runway in paris causing the whole tragedy anyway, then the Concorde simply wouldn't have crashed and over 100 people would still be here today and having great memories on what should have been a flight of a lifetime. I take no notcie of statistics as usually they are bullshit

  • excuse you, but continental airlines is the most safest airlines and most admired airline in america. it was a piece from an md-80 that fell of. continental no longer operates these aircraft and also refuse to use cheap frenchie craft.

  • Actually, neither of you has much of a clue.

    1) it was an ILLEGAL piece from a DC10-30, not an MD80

    2) the FOD from the CO aircraft was just one of the MANY reasons that the jet went down (e.g., being a ton overweight, taking off against a tail wind, a missing autoalignment spacer on the tire that blew, cockpit miscommunication, etc).

...so no need to get upset when these pissant little foreigners blame "Yankee" for the crash, as it only shows their ignorance as to the situation at hand.

  • As for the video itself, absolutely love it... particularly the narration. Absolute 5star!

  • ...though, even the most basic understanding of statistics would inform you that that's a comparatively horrible record. Concorde should (again, speaking in terms of relativity) NEVER have crashed, due to its incredibly small worldwide fleet numbers. 1 crash, despite the amount of time which passed, gave it (statistically) one of the worst safety records ever. Don't get me wrong, I'm the world's biggest Concorde fan-- but the numbers are, as they are.

  • lol guys - you cannot hear breaking through the sound barrier if you allready traveling at the speed of sound or about to do that.

it should actually get quieter in the cabin when you reach mach 1

  • man.. i thought i get to see/hear the point where you break the sound barrier past 1.0mach

  • Sorry to disappoint, but there really wasn't anything noticable when we went through Mach 1. It was uneventful, except for the digital speed indicator clicking over to 1.00

  • im with you man

  • Save Concorde!

  • They tried. There was even an effort to keep one of them flying just for air-shows and the like. But even that proved unfeasible.

    So sad.

  • @Marzziooo you like 6 years late

  • Amazing videos, It was my dream to fly on the concorde, but looks as that may never happen.

  • thanks for sharing this, so amazing :)
