  • @filmcruiser88 United States

  • What a train. And no locomotives!

  • fast train= horrific accidents

  • top speed is 100mph

  • is reders digest based there ?? reason why I asked with the road being named after it

  • LIRR

  • @Redbirdfan33 No, MNCR.

  • @Assmark LIRR got the M7s first

  • @Redbirdfan33 Oh yeah I know that back in like 2003 but I thought you were saying this was the LIRR

  • @Assmark no i didn't mean that.

  • i rode 1 in the end of 2003 actually

  • If I remember correctly these trains are electric and dieselarnt they?

  • @globalcentralline Electric and gain power form a third rail

  • sounds like Amtrak passing.....flatwheels and all.

  • 3rd rail is there just not at the crossing.. train tops out at 60.. so 80 is a no no.. metro north is stayin put and not planning on extendin n e where.. amtrak wud be mad

  • What the hell? How do the M7's draw their power? I don't see a third rail.

  • The third rail must be hard to see

  • @sniper12890 it is on each side of the crossing

  • Gap thru the crossing that is less than one car length.

  • @prorobo Dual-mode MU's.

  • @gibb1991 The M-8's are dual third rail/overhead wire. These M-7's are only good for third rail. LIRR experimented with dual-mode third rail/gas turbine MU's back in the early 1980's which were converted M-1's. But they were dismal failures.

  • Great vid !!!

  • does anyone know if there were ever plans to extend the Metro North Rail Road all the way to Albany, NY or even towards Delaware, NY ???

  • Real close to exit 33 off the Saw Mill Parkway.

  • We need WCH e-bells here

  • i have that lionel train

  • amazing

  • I believe it's in Westchester.

  • I never seen a Metro-North or a LIRR train go so fast. Thanks for the vid

  • This are is between Chappaqua and Mount kisco. You have two crossings-readers digest abd roaring brrok road. The speed was originally 75m.p.h.

  • For the recored the speed for regular passenger trains through this area is 70mph

  • Where would that be?

  • On the Express track here in Bronxville, you'll find an M3 doing probably in between 60-70 MPH, an M7 (like the one in this vid) also doing 60-70, and a Genesis doing 60-90.

  • lol if u blink u miss it

  • thats weird

  • The M7 is not a subway size train. it usually has two seats across on one side and three on the other. It has to go fast to get from Brewster to NYC in an hour and 15

  • Each M7A car weighs 128K pounds with 1000 HP of tractionmotor power. These are heavy rail passenger FRA.....not subway 'bus cars'.

  • wow, ive never seen a subway-style train go that fast.

  • Metro North - aks the BMT northern division.

  • Go to Larchmont you'll see 90.

  • fast

  • If they are not solar powered than why are there storage batteries on-board?

  • All trainzzs have storage batteries to provide lighting, door control and maintain control systems. High voltage is used only for propulsion, HVAC and operation of DC/DC invertor that provides 72 Volts DC and charges batteries. Everything except for propulsion and HVAC in NYC subways runs off 36 Volts DC...same concept. These are my TRAINZZZ.....RRCI Peter

  • @trainluvr They pull electricity from the third rail, which obviously don't go over roads.

  • small train

  • What happen to the bells on the crossing?

  • They stop ringing once the gates are down, check out my 2 vids

  • Speedy train! Thanks for shooting this vid at the railroad crossing! I love railroad crossings!
