  • She's the obnly one singing. A bit boring, You shoud see my video responce. Its The lonley goatherd At london in 2006. And couldnt she try to sing like posshhhhh cos the Austrains tried

  • She's such a good singer! :D

  • Although Maria's voice is pretty good, her acting is not so believable as Maria. And the song is played much too fast-- it 's ridiculous. Also, the staging of this is pretty boring.

  • How old is Maria?

  • Ahhh, I remember this show! I had so much fun in it! YPT was the best. This one isn't my cast though.

  • amazing singing!!!

  • ahaha loving the american accented yoddeleing! x

  • She's very good!

  • Wow, that was pretty good. Only criticism is that the piano and the other background music seem a little fast-paced

  • Who are som of the other girls, I'm guessing one was the housekeeper, but that leaves six girls, and there are only supposed to be five.

  • This actress has a beautiful voice.

  • does this work??

  • how old is this "maria" girl? she's amazing and she doesn't even look that old!

  • how old is this "maria" girl? she's amazing and she doesn't even look that old!

  • this sounds great! but, im doing this play now, and we sing favorite things. why is this sung here? anyway, its still great!

  • amazing voice!

  • this is very nice sng : < ) vryy nice

  • this is very nice sng : < ) vryy nice

  • i loved when we did this last year. do the children not sing? oh children sang in the chorus...it was so cute. the kids acted like puppets :]

  • very good only problem to fast tempo but i shouldn't be talking cause i couldn't sing this even with the right tempo

  • Was the conductor longing for the intervall?

    This tempo is toooooooo fast!

  • americans cant do anything as good as the british

  • actually this is the musical it is totally different from the movie. lonely goatherd is sung instead of 'my favorite things'.

  • She was a very strong singerr.

But the song sortaa needs a more pleasent tone.

    But this was really good.

    Good diction and everything

  • Very pleasant voice!

  • it was okay....i guess

  • ....apart from they're not british accents, they're american, and besides the accents in the film are british, not austrian, and finally- does it really matter?!?!- it's anamateur performance, they're not trying to win any oscars.

  • Thank yoU!

  • @risnog

apparently it does matter to you. shut up...

  • The show is austrian. Not British. Why did your play use british accents and not austrian ones?

  • at this scene 'My Favourite Things' was to be sung and not Lonely Goatherd.

Well she has a good voice.

  • lol

  • where are the british accents? we're american but we used british accents?

  • Where was this?

  • good singer for her age, but the song was a bit to fast I think

  • The girl playing Maria has a wonderful voice and is a good actress. However, I think that the pacing and tempo of the song seemed to go too fast.

  • wind it up! (gwen stefani)

    lol just kiddin

  • I love her voice--it's very clear and strong. Not bad.

  • Lve it but is it the london 2006?

  • wasn't that the wrong song for the scene?

  • yes it was thwe wrong scene for this song

  • yea i think its supposed to be my favorite things

  • this was the original placement of this song, but when they made the film they thought it would make more sense for 'My favorite things' to be sung here

  • The play and the movie placed the song in two different places. It is good regardless.===by the way, the children were Austrian, not British.

  • =D!!!! She's great, especially with all that moving about and singing at the same time!

  • y is there only 6 children?

  • 'cause the oldest one was taking off her dirty clothes after meeting the mailman

  • she is a good singer but a weird actress

  • no its not. its The Lonel Goatheard

  • What a great voice she have! Very cute too.

  • she's amazing :)

  • too fast, but great singing

  • THAT WAS GREAT!

  • No, its called "The lonley goatherd" :)

  • this is my favorite song in the movie,

i just sang this in our "sound of music" and i messed up the words in one verse, and almost cried

  • you are good at singing

  • obviously you're not familiar with the actual broadway show. in the show, the lonely goatherd is in the bedroom and my favorite things is sung by mother abbess and maria at the abbey.

  • UMMM...

i think there doing the theatre version!

cause i just went to watch the toronto production and they did lonely goatherd at this part in the bedroom!

  • it's too fast...

  • oooh wow, this girl has such an amazing word!!

  • cute ending btw! (:

  • amazing! i am doing the same play!! i got maria too! how old is laura?

  • I dare to say... this is absolutely the best one out of its resemblances~!!!

  • the best one out of its resemblances~!!!

  • danggg girl. your voice is amazing. you make it sound like you have faucetto which makes it even more great lol

  • this was very good!

  • Wow, this is great.

  • Great job!

  • Thank you!

  • That's the first time I've clearly heard, "What a duet." Excellent job!

  • this was in a school play?

  • It was a community youth theater production, not affiliated with any school, the performers came from many local cities. It was nice to get to know people from other communities who were interested in theater.

  • this is really good what a voice

  • ooh..good job

  • I agree - wow good job

  • Wow, great job!!!!

  • um that song doesnt come until waaaay after this scene

  • Only in the movie version.

  • the stage version is different from the movie version.

  • They weren't supposed to sing that song right then. THat song was supposed to be My Favorite Things.

  • Not in the stage version - the movie makers changed the order of the songs. In the original stage version favorite things is sung with Mother Superior at the Abbey!

  • ya that is what we are doing in the play of Sound of music that i am in

  • Thank you finally someone acknoladges it! I played Fredrich a few years back and when people came to see it they were saying the songs in the wrong order and I was like UGGGGHH lol!

  • @trev1776 The original version (on broadway) was different. Mother Abbess and Maria sing My Favorite Things, and The Lonely Goatherd is done during the thunderstorm. The movie added and changed a lot of things, which causes us to think that anything otherwise is wrong.

  • naturalmente meglio l'originale

    lei non regge il confronto!

  • We're doing this right now! I love it. Now I know what to do for this scene!

  • um....

  • Why so fast?

  • It's not very fast, or at least our school's production was at the same tempo.

  • She has very pich and vbrato, very nice =)!

  • nicly done

  • They were ages 6-18 yrs old, Maria was 15yrs old in this video.

  • wow!

  • The stage version is correct, the movie directors changed the order of the songs from the original stage version. In the stage version favorite things is sung with Mother Superior at the Abbey.

  • what the hell? they're supposed to be singing favourite things here?

  • Yes they are but this apperanly diffrent!! Becides the song doesn't fit this scene!!! GRR!

  • The original scene sequence was changed by the movie, this is the original way sound of music was staged. I agree favorite things makes more sense in this scene, though, and the movie makers were smart enough to make the change.

  • the songs doesn't match with the play ..!!

now it has to be my favorite things

  • wow! she sings very well!! i love it!

  • It was a youth theater performance, all the actors were under 17. Maria was only 15.

  • why are there so many kids?

  • I don't there are that many. There are children playing all the adults - so the one singing is Maria, there are six kids on the bed then Leisle enters followed by the housekeepers I think. I don't really know, but that is my guess :)

  • it might just be so everyone is involved

  • That's exactly why! :)

  • Are you in it? xx

  • were you maria?

  • Nice, simple staging. Great kids. Why does everyone do this song soooo fast now????!!! I grew up on the B'way cast recording with Mary Martin- it has a nice Austrian lilt to it.

  • Chelsea MI

  • Where was this from? Maria is so amazing here!

  • is this song in another movie than the sound of music?

  • the girl playing maria is really good but she is so young!

  • They're just wonderful.

  • the girl that plays maria is sooooo good.

  • Yes, the songs are in a different order in the stage show. The movie came second and it was the movie makers who changed the order of the songs in the movie (and added songs, like the song Maria sings about Confidence when arriving at the VonTrapps - that wasn't in the original stage show at all!).

  • is this how they do all sound of music stage shows? (with this song during this scene)

  • They are all so cute! The lady who plays maria has a really pretty voice! Was this a theatre group or something?

  • Yes, it was in Chelsea, Michigan. They really had a lot of fun producing it. There were a lot of tears on closing night, everyone got very close. The kids playing the VonTrapp kids really loved the girl playing Maria, and she loved them. It was easy to see how the real story unfolded. Closing night the girl playing Maria gave each of the Von Trapp kids a cute doll representing their character, dressed in the sailor suit.

  • She's good. wow... :)

  • You got a GREAT voice! :D

  • THE SOUND OF MUSIC ROCKS!!!

  • she was absolutely amazing.

  • amazing voice

  • I dont understand why they aren't singing My Favorite things lol. It's not like there's anything wrong with that song and it's actually a lot easier to sing... but other than that this was great! Amazing singing voice for such a young girl.

  • The songs in the stage version are in a different order than the movie. The movie switched them around and even added a song that is not in the stage version (when she first walks up to the estate - the confidence song).

  • Their American accents make this sound more like Oaklahoma, but it's kinda fun y'all(as they say in Vienna, NOT! Got any gum, chum?

  • The high school of my district put out auditioned. I tried out. I was th ONLY kid not in high school to get a part.

    I was eight, 3rd Grade, I was gretl ;)

  • shes really good

  • good song

  • I was in SOUND OF MUSIC years ago, I was the Captain. Unfortunetly, I didn't get to kiss Maria.

  • im playin MARIA!! EEEE!!

JR HIGH PLAY OF SOUND OF MUSIC!!

AND IM ONLY A 7TH GRADER!!!

    EEEEE

    SOO CITED

  • not only does she have an amazing voice, her delivery is superb. The inflection is perfect.

  • simply great!

  • wow she did really good...but im confused..they are supposed to sing my favorite things..oh well she did good!

  • wow , she has a beautiful voice !!

  • is that girl meant to be Maria because if it is she's a bit a young

  • Everyone in this production was under 17

  • Wow... kudos to the lead vocal! She carried this song through. Awesome vocals. Not an easy song to sing! +5

  • Oh Wow! She Has An Amazing Voice!

  • the lonely goatherd is not even sang in this part... hello... this is the bedroom scene w/ the children... they are supposed to sing my favorite things.

  • The Sound of Music movie changed the order of the songs from the Broadway stage musical. In the stage version the 'favorite things' song is sung in the abbey with Mother Superior, who after hearing Maria sing it asks her to repeat it as she remembers it from childhood and wants to relearn it...favorite things is sung together by mother superior and maria! If you can, see the stage version, I too was surprised to find out how different it is from the movie version.

  • Well said

  • Wind it Up!

  • wow..yeah that's really really good :)

  • wow...that was really impressive! this is SUCH a difficult song to sing and you did an excellent job!

  • With her American accent, it sounds like a different song compared with Julie Andrews' version... Still good singing though.

  • That was great

  • Maria's great!...and yeah, that's super fast. Haha.

  • Such a lovely voice. At first I thought you were playing Liesl, but when I realized you were Maria, I was, she's way too young to play her!lol. You're really good, and pretty too. And only 14 during the time? Nice.

Anyway, since this was probably children's theater, just curious, how did they make the Liesl and Rolf kiss work? :)

  • omg great voice

  • Nice voice! This is one of my fave songs from sound of music and I sang it for an audition once!

  • no one has actually uploaded the proper video of loney goat herd from the movie:(

  • I watched it once ago.. so it must be here, somewhere..

  • TEMPO... geeze musical director!

  • when was this?

  • haha thank you for noticing... it was so hard to sing that fasttt!

  • That's quite good! x

  • they're all so cute! and lovely voice too

  • how fast is this? It is slightly ridiculous, but the poor girl managed it really well.

  • I am goatherd o ho lAY

  • nice voice, I wonder if there are any scenes where "My Favorite Things" is sung. It's my favorite song.

  • Simply just fantastic.

  • She is fantastic!

  • is this from a drama group because i want to join

  • wow...the best child singer, though I never heard of you. I wish I was that good..gotta practice

  • The girl singing The Lonely Goatherd has a lot of potential. She doesn't miss a beat even though the song is being played too fast. She has a cnvincing voice and could go far if she works very hard and really wants to be on stage.

  • Thanks,

    I like your name!

My dream is to be in a Disney show, or Disney Princess. I already sing Ariel & Beauty at community teas for children, and also Dorothy from Wizard of Oz.

  • You'll go far. When you reach broadway send the tickets to mickeygrump/1

  • Wauw, this is very good! But in this part in de movie they sing 'Favourite Things', isn't it?

  • They changed the order of the songs while filming the movie. In the Broadway musical "Favorite Things" is sung in the Abbey with Mother Superior, in Mother Superior's office. After Mother tells Maria she remembers hearing her sing a song and asks Maria to help her recall the words to it...Favorite Things.

The Broadway version is quite different than the movie version, I'm not sure which I liked more: the movie or the Broadway version. Would be a good discussion topic!

  • I like both. I'm currently a nun in our comunity theater's production of it.

  • was the hiccup part of the musical number?

  • Nope

  • your voice is really good, part you do not play the part. I just did the sound of music, you would have been better as liesl. You play the part WAY TOO YOUNG! but beautiful voice.

  • I was the oldest in the cast! LOL! The captain was 6" shorter than me...try making that work! I loved this production - with all the kids - most fun I ever had on a set!

Another theater group next city over saw my performance here and invited me to audition in their production of sound of music & I was cast as Liesl for them 6 months after this production. Which was also tons of fun. I can do this show forwards and backwards in my sleep now!

  • Also, I was 14 when I did this show!

  • omg, i always wanted to take voice lessons.. i mean, i can sing and stuff, but only limitedly, since i never had lessons. WOW :)
