A word of advice to FJ fans. Don't drive it into deep water without first retro-fitting the differentials. The breathers on FJ differentials will allow water and mud to slip inside the box. It's a relatively cheap thing to retro-fit to prevent the problem but an expensive repair if you allow the differentials to get fouled by water, mud, etc.
FJC's have a longer wheelbase than Jeeps. Longer wheelbase= less rollover risk but will git snagged on things easier. (I'm not bashing anything here or promoting, just trying to explain)
what the hell was that? there was so much noise was the body grinding on something? (ive never been offroading so dont call me a dumbfuck 4 not knowing) and im pretty sure my moms 99 RWD Chevy astro would do that lol
Actually an S10 could easily do this hot tub ;) I was there this summer, only problem is you wouldnt be able to get through Hell's Revenge's entrance =P Ohhh and Jeeps are better, at least 00' and below newer ones idk...
I agree, when I first looked at one I almost made jokes about it too the salesmen, then he told me to drive. I got in and drove it, man was I impressed. I like it better than the new Jeeps although the Jeep does have legends written all over the vehicle. Not to mention a stock FJ beat the Jeep Rubicon's time on the rubicon trail. I thought that was pretty impressive.
Yea, I'm not a fan of the new Jeep's either. They're all too fancy for me to justify taking them offroad. Ever since they switched to unibody frames, like almost every other vehicle, they just aren't as good for offroading.
Really?? That is pretty impressive, maybe I'll get an FJ sometime :p
I wish I would've bought the FJ but I just didn't have the money. The new Jeeps disapoint me, they are no longer offroad vehicles, they are trying to be like everyother SUV. Sad but true.
its the suspension and 4wheel drive stuff being worked. i test drove a crappy dodge nitro and it would like squeak whenever i turned the wheel in 4High
NOPE. not even close to more flex. go watch a jeep flex the go watch an fj. i wheel with a guy who has a jeep and fj, and likes the jeep better for offroading. the fj is his pretty car
Well not to be rude but Just about any SWB auto can do it this way. Next time your there I want to see you go the other way! up the slope. It can be done but it will show the Men from the boys! Good luck and keep that rig on her wheels
whats better for the 4x4?? a ram cummins 5.9 4x4turbo diesel or the fj cruiser? im goin to buy a car but i dont know between this two, the ram have locks on the axle like the fj??
I did this in my CTD slick as can be as well, Three wheeled it diving in cause I took the entrance a little off due to long wheelbase but it was fun. CTD rocks due to low end grunt, but it is really heavy in mud/sand/snow. Powerwagons have front/rear elockers, but regular CTD's don't unless you put it in yourself. :)
guys, i am thinking of getting an FJ what do u think? does it really worth it? i mean from the inside it is shitty but it can be really good from the outside

so why exactly does a FJ on 285's and a 3" lift do the bathtub so easily, but these TJ's and CJ's on 37's roll doing the same thing?
(side note, i have a FJ, 3" lift, 285/70/17 KM2's, among other things, so just curious)
tornadomid 1 year ago
There's more than one tub in the area. The rolling videos you are referring to are filmed in deeper/steeper tubs.
