hey! i just bought my ipod touch 8GB on monday and i am completely in love with it. I have 4 pages of applications, almost 800 songs and a full elngth movie and stttillllll have 1.07GB of space left!! Thats about 500 songs to go!!! so yes the 8GB is definitely worth. From Awesome Wi-fi, to youtube to facebook application and AIM application and not to mention the awesome sound and graphics. Totally worth it. For $300 its more then worth it :)

8GB is not bad at all IMO.. just pick what songs you want on there because there's no way you need your entire 30GB library at your fingertips.. I only listen to probably 10% of my total library, which is pretty much 400-500 songs. I'm sure others will agree (and some will disagree)

As for my case, I bought the 16gb because it's always great to be sure that you have enough memory. One thing too, when I bought mine, it only had 14.8 gig in it. I guess some of the software in it ate up 1.2 gig... Just imagine how much you're left with if you bought 8gb and had your touch take up some space too.
