Fascist liberals won't allow innovations for oil supply

I agree the Left is being somewhat unrealistic on the energy issue. They oppose any further drilling for oil on principle, oppose expansion of nuclear power on principle, and favor solutions that sound nice, but don't work in terms of volume/cost of energy that could be produced (e.g. ethanol, wind, solar). The only legitimate option I've heard the Left push for is alternative energy research which I'm all in favor of. If there isn't a technological solution out there we're in for a rough ride.
