I love that fist pump and 'yeah' Anna give as she walks away from Robert and Cheryl. She knew she left Robert breathless. And I'm sure it made her feel great especially after their argument where he called her a nag and a frump.
Wow hard to believe this was 20 years ago!! But it's such a classic story. I love it even more now than before. I really appreciate it now, especially in the light of how bad gh is now. Viva RnA!
I think that the English Rosebud had a definit effect on the Australian Swordman. And she didn't need to stand on a stalk of bibles...LOL! My dear and wonderful stubborn spies of love, darn I love them!
No, you're right. Anna first met Robert, O'Reilly, and Swede in Sean's WSB office (I assume it was Sean's office). The second time they met was in 1985 at a hotel bar in NYC. So, Anna must be referring to this time and NYC, not their first time.
Kir Royal - It is a french drink popular in France. It is made with Champagne. and crème de cassis (blackcurrant liquor.) The only reason I know that is because years ago my husband was a bartender on the side and I would always read the drink books he had. In 91 when this aired I remember looking the drink up and it is just one of those useless facts that I remember that is taking up brain space.
Is that the same drink that Anna ordered for the 2 of them the first time they saw each other in 1985 in the bar? Was that "Their" drink from the 70's past?
No the drink from 1985 was a layered multi colored drink. I think it was red white and blue. I will have to look at the clip. I have no idea what kind of drink it was. Does anyone know? There is a scene when Robert and Anna were in Scotland scattering Duke's ashes and they talk about a drink they had in Paris - I was always wondering if it was the multi colored drink that they were talking about
I Know I Know !! at least now I do after researching.
"Pousse-Cafe" was the drink they talked about in Scotland in 1990 that Robert said was the disgusting drink that caused him fall in love with Anna in the Country Inn when he threw her "what's-it's" over the camera.
That is the drink from 1985 because a "pousse-cafe" or a layered drink that creates colored stripes. A liqueur drunk with after-dinner coffee. The name literally means "it pushes the coffee" in French.
Good job with the research! I've been wondering about the striped drink ever since robertannafan posted the clip of their NYC meeting. Now I'm off to find the R&A scene in Scotland. thanks:)
