HOMELESSSTATION is visiting you. We're researching Catholic Charities today. It looks like their shelters are around the country and each area seems to have its own web site.

I went to catholic charities a few weeks ago to help out with some classmates. Everyone was so nice, and really not afraid to get their hands dirty. I scrubbed chairs for hours! Their clothing closet is amazing. It's great that people can get those things for free.

Wow, how did I miss this video???? Totally agree that Catholic Charities is an amazing organization! I would love to be able to volunteer with them one day, but alas, it will probably be after my schooling is done...

I'm going to be honest: I did judge the charity based on the name. I thought that because of my bad experience with my very Catholic and conservative (i.e. racist, sexist, homophobic, and xenophobic) family that this charity would be along the same lines. But, my mind is changed, and I thank you for that. DFTBA.

I have also volunteered at that food shelf and they do a wonderful job of service in their region. In these days of high unemployment, underemployment, and low wages these kinds of services are needed more than ever.

My sister works in a Catholic Charities food shelf, and I've volunteered there.

They help a lot of families get fresh foods, breads, meats..

Good food that they would not get otherwise, and a lot of grocery stores donate there too (Trader Joe's etc) It is a really wonderful organization that helps a broad spectrum of people.
