The first album sold on the hype surrounding this new sensation and the strength of her voice not really because the music backing it was of any note. The second album isnt any worse musically but sales this time have not been backed by hype. This girl needs better music simon cowell is a disgrace

I'm not gonna argue because you're entitled to your opinion, but there isn't anyway to truly know if Mariah's voice has weakened. Her new songs don't show off her voice at all and are extremely simple. Take that and the fact that when she gets on stage for live performances, all she does is riffs and all kinds of other stuff that ruins the songs if done too much. Look at the MJ memorial, if she would've stuck to the song, it would've been beautiful, a memorial is no place for all of that.

Exactly, but it's not necessarily her voice, if you listen to those performances, she doesn't sing the song the same, and does too many riffs and stuff. On certain songs and at certain times a riff or two is good, but god, on hero and at the MJ memorial she did "riffd" through the whole song, not even paying attention to the melody. Her voice s still there, but her passion for the MUSIC has been overpowered by the urge to be a "sex symbol" and it gets on my nerves!!!!!

It's not just how she sings it though, the tone of her voice and her ability to control her voice and stay in tune has declined. she's still better than alot of artists though not that i'm saying anyone is perfect all the time, though. and sex symbol?
