  • Major drivers of climate ignored by Global Warmists

    1. Solar cycle

    2. Pacific Decadal Oscillation

    3. Effect of volcanoes in polar regions

    4. Water vapor

Then they claim CO2 drives temperatures when it actually follows temperatures. People are so brainwashed they refuse to believe evidence showing CO2 has minimal impact compared to other factors. In fact they get militant when their beliefs are challenged. GW has become a religion, not a field of science. A big money making religion.

  • which countries are likely to more affected by this cooling and will it be severe enough to hinder food crop production?

  • @abarafat When global cooling does happen because of low solar activity, it generally has the biggest affect on western europe and the UK by affecting the Jet Stream. Winters in these places will become much more severe and cold, whereas summers will become dreary, cool and grey. You can tell global cooling is already happening as in the UK, the last 5 summers were cool and damp, and the last 3 winters were cold and snowy.

  • is this cooling going to affect the pacific ocean and asian countries? will this affect food crop production?

  • from a layman weather has been very different especially this year, what cooling temperatures are we looking at?

  • And you've gagged journalists in order prevent criticism of your bad predictions in the British press? Isn't that dishonest? You've been critical of the scientific community for cashing-in on climate change at the expense of 'true science' and yet you yourself won't reveal your methodology nor subject it to peer review. Isn't that a bit hypocritical? It seems like a good scam you've got going here.

  • @manoffireandlight when did a proponent of climate change make the use of peer review? The last peer review of a climate change forecast found flawed data in the US.....enough said

  • @LeftiusMaximus Er, all reputable scientists use peer review as a means of subjecting their work to the scrutiny of other scientists. So when did a proponent make the use of peer review? Most likely today or at the very least this week.

  • I'm sorry, but your 'technique' appears to be saying the opposite of what the MET office, IPCC etc say and generalities like "There will be a large cyclone in the South China Sea during cyclone season". If you were a genuine scientist, you would appreciate the value of the peer-review process and would subject your work to the full scrutiny of the scientific community, in order that your work could be of value to mankind.

  • @manoffireandlight the man managed to predict two major superstorms to within 1 DAY of actual impact on two different continents, I'd call that success. He also correctly forecast the first of many major blizzards to hit the Northeast United States to the DAY a full month before it actually hit

  • @LeftiusMaximus So where are these predictions? Do we have to pay to get them? A genuine scientist would make his processes available to the scrutiny of other scientists (even if they had to sign contracts preventing them from disseminating the nature of the science) in order to gain widespread acceptance. He is a fake. And you are his shill. y

  • @manoffireandlight

Well he is spot on 90% of the time, isn't he ?. That makes you a fake, and a shill of the establishments.

  • @johnsenkenn Is he? Where do you get this figure from? I'm genuinely intrigued. If I saw evidence that his methods were accurate to that level, then I would gladly admit my mistake, as any genuine scientist would. He rambles on with his strawman arguments that CO2 doesn't drive weather conditions and that climatologists predicted snow free winters ten years from 2000. Both of these statements are false and so it is not hard to knock them down. Try reading more. You might learn something.

  • @manoffireandlight

I got it from lately following his forecast, they seem a bit more accurate than yours. CO2 drive the weather ?, why don't you try to think, you might learn something. Or is it nest fighting.

  • @johnsenkenn So you have paid and subscribe to his forecasts from the website or you mean the videos posted here on Youtube? I have not made any forecasts, so I don't quite know which forecasts you are referring to. As I said, I and the entirety of genuine scientists would gladly admit to being wrong were evidence presented of the accuracy of his work. Do you have a valid argument, or just insults?

  • @manoffireandlight

"He rambles on with his strawman arguments that CO2 doesn't drive weather conditions and that climatologists predicted snow free winters ten years from 2000. Both of these statements are false..." How is it that CO2 drives the climate if CO2 levels rise and fall due to temperature changes? And as for the "no snow prediction in 2000"... it's true, this claim was made... Google "Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past" and click on the first link.

  • @Spetsop

Past climate shifts have been due to changes in the Earth's orbit (see Milankovich Theory) and thus CO2 was not the driver, but to deny C02's role is to deny the greenhouse effect - is this what you are doing?

Your evidence of scientific predictions of snow free winters is a newspaper article that doesn't even reference a scientific paper - do you know the difference between conjecture and fact?

  • @manoffireandlight

Well there you, CO2 is not the driver of climate. I'm not denying the fact that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, I'm denying the claim that CO2 is CURRENTLY running the show (because it never did in the past). CO2 increased in the past too, and my understanding of that is that shouldn't it have caused a positive feedback to the increase of temp? Meaning that as temp increases and more CO2 is released it would additionally increase the temp b/c of it's greenhouse effect?

  • @Spetsop I agree, CO2 is likely not running the show now, but there is evidence that it has in the past been the principle driver of global warming (see Snowball Earth). The evidence currently available to us suggests that the global climate system lags behind CO2 emissions and it's full effect won't be felt for decades. Corbyn's claim that 'warmers' are predicting massive changes now is a straw-man, because climate scientists (of which he is not one) are making no such predictions.

  • @manoffireandlight

Part2: Correct me if I'm wrong of course.

Also, of course it will be a newspaper article... this was announced to the general public. Did you not notice who was the person who made that claim? It was Dr David Viner, who, according to the British Council website, is leading their work on climate change at the moment and was a member of University of East Anglia Climatic Research Unit at the time of his claim.

  • @Spetsop An accurate and entertaining analysis of that story (amongst others) is by Potholer54. Search for - BP oil spills and an end to snow on youtube.

  • Enoch had it sussed 2 and half thousand years ago and there was no light bulbs then Piers.he clearly said that there are portals or holes around the Earth, some make the good bad weather and others make the very bad bad weather that destoy mankind all because of the luminaries .When the luminaries move away from their duties signs appear, like flowers that do not die seasons alter crops fail etc etc etc. Oh he also said that Eathquakes will be caused by what happens above the ground not below.

  • Piers, I like you. But you badly need to sort your act out. Find an office or rent a space where the traffic noise is not so bad that you can hear the number 23 passengers talking. Use decent graphics rather then rough edged bits of paper bluetacked to walls. Use specific predictive values citing temeperature ranges rather than 'lower levels'. Your points about the political motivations of others are good ones but you endanger yourself to the charges of being more of a charlatan than them

  • @elbapo7 I totally agree - Piers, you need to get a marketing / PR consultant in. Seriously, you do.

  • watch it guys you could be killed. theirs to much money in global warming.

  • I can see how the Sun has more to do with the earths temps than CO2. I too wouldn't bet against Pier.

Hats off to some real science.

Will be following your fight against the political agenda for a carbon tax. Its hogwash.

  • No computer graphics here, the graphs have creases and he is doing this from home.

How are we expected to believe somebody who clearly receives such little grant money.

Sorry mate, without computer generated graphs you just cannot be for real.

  • @OneBigRetard Grant money proves one is right? Did you stop to think that he does not receive grant money because his government doesn't like what he is saying. Do you think the Chinese government would give money to those who promote capitalism? This guy is basing his work on science not politics. Apparently you think he drew these graphs by hand (face palm). Obviously they were printed from a computer. They just don't have a shiny laminated cover to impress a simpleton like yourself.

  • @MrArphaxad

What, like the sort of simpleton that can't recognise sarcasm?

    Cretin.

  • @OneBigRetard

Those graphs were printed from a computer, idiot.

  • @jdavis234

First up, those are not graphics as much as print outs. Your comment makes you a thick individual.

To compound that, any normal person could see I was taking this piss.

In short, you are clearly a fucking idiot. Not run-of-the-mill idiocy, Like danger to yourself in dire need of state support idiocy.

    Seek help numskull.

  • Only a genius would have a hair style like this gentleman, so he must be onto something.

  • I WANT GLOBAL COOLING ITS SO FUCKING HOT HERE IN AUSTRALIA KNSUNRUH4GI A4G4PLKL494- T=4TP4O

  • Ladies and gentleman! The well organised, Republicans/BigOil-funded sceptics campaign!

    Hah!

"I like OLD computers" -- Piers Corbyn @ Heartland

Well... I like programming graphical stuff on ALL computers! Lovely toys! (Am mathematician)

    Am also prettier. Sorry!

I'll now revise PDE solving & increase my potential no. of roles when I finally apply

For now I'll make noise & stand on the shoulders of these giants

Actually worth moving to London for

Even if it's website work, and tea making

  • "It is a sad comment on human psyche that we seem to care about the quality of this video."

    Agreed

"How much more effective they'd be against the slick PR and Marketing of the pro-warming brigade if they just got somone who knows what they're doing to make their videos!"

    Alas! Also agreed

To stress, all it needs is ONE person, armed with naught but know-how

"who knows what they're doing" sounds harsh

It's easy to underestimate the difficulty of slickness. We're accustomed to a high standard

  • Piers Corbyn is great

  • I like this video because it's not about polish and snazziness - it's basic and gets to the point. I have since lost a lot of faith in the met and have discovered Piers Corbyn, which is great!! I sent a link to my family and all my global climate. Keep up the good work Mr. Corbyn!!

  • It is a sad comment on human psyche that we seem to care about the quality of this video. I would rather see a truthful but poorly made video like this than a slick presentation from some organisation that has the money to make it but not the sense to do real testable science. BTW lthe met office's own graphs show recent global cooling (but of course they make no mention of it.

  • Don't get me wrong - I like Piers and "mavericks" like him often have good ideas, but he's forecasted a cold winter almost every year that I've read his forecasts.

  • Important and well founded information; Pity about the quality of the presentation and the video!

How much more effective they'd be against the slick PR and Marketing of the pro-warming brigade if they just got somone who knows what they're doing to make their videos!

  • Real science ie THE TRUTH will always win in the end. Mr Corbyn is one of only a few of the torch bearers of the true FACTS. They will be the ones future generations will look back on and note unlike those who spread the lies of man made global warming.

  • In July he forecast a cold to very cold winter for Britain and Ireland 2009-2010, while the Met Office forecast average -above average winter temps.

He said they would be wrong.

Now that the winter has come and the results are in.

He got it spot on while the Met Office were way off.

I don't blame the bookies for refusing his bets.

I certainly wouldn't bet against him.

  • Hahah! Pun not intended...

  • I also wish these videos were better done. My solution will be to apply for a job there. I'm a mathematician, physicist and programmer but I don't have a degree. I reckon I can persuade him though. In the current climate, there's plenty I can say that's more valuable than university credentials...

  • Plenty of evidence, including a presentation by Piers Corbyn, (and including Powerpoint slides, danben) are available from the proceedings of the heartland conference, New York, 2009. You'll have to browse because YoureaTube doesn't let anything remotely like a link get posted.

The site is up-front about how it is funded and if you look, not one penny is corporate.

That doesn't stop Wikipedia slamming nearly every organisation as members of the paid-up oil conspiracy. I am not interested.

  • You doubters may be interested to know that this man has been banned from making bets on the weather by William Hill, the bookmakers, because he has won too much money.

  • Sorry the credibility is 0. Please use Powerpoint slides to substantiate your claims, so I can read the charts you are referring to on my own. Otherwise I have to dismiss all of your claims as conspiracy lunacy, which would be a real pity given that you seem to be a decent person caring for the world well being.

  • climategate :))

    answer to danben72

  • OK, next time they should close the window before the speech and bind the tie in normal lenghth.

Did a cow chew on the graphs?

  • Thankyou for that info...so we can expect much colder winters then.does this mean less hurricans and atlantic storms?

  • Piers Did you see the bbc news the other week? they said in 30 years time their will be no ice left in the artic circle! Un secretary Ban Ki-Moon said theres about 100 Billion tones of ice melting per year!

and they had video footage to prove their clames.

  • Perhaps the BBC didn't realize that Arctic ice has increased 12% on 2008, and the Antarctic continues its 30 year cooling trend, with sea ice this year well above the average.

  • i hope Piers is right! .only time will tell i suppose.

  • Gobal cooling will have far worse effects than warming could ever have ... and it probably won't stop new climate taxes anyway. AGW is all about politics, not science.

  • What could happen? will it change our weather?

  • We are near what should be the end of an interglacial warm period. These last for about 10,000 years or so. At some point the earth will follow the pattern it has for the past 4 billion years and plunge into an ice age. This will definitely effect "weather". The current cooling trend however appears to be more likely a return to "The Little Ice Age" that ended 200 yrs ago ... where millions died from disease and starvation.

  • You herd the latest news? Maldives are now Under Threat from rising sea levels due to global warming!. what do you make of that? i saw the video evidence on the news. now i don't know who to beleave!

  • @ 019208237: That's because there HAS been global warming. The point is, the world has had thousands of episodes of warming and of cooling, long before humans walked the earth. This is nothing new and nothing to be alarmed about - and nothing Man can change. Piers is saying the warming phase is now over and we have entered a cooling phase. I would suggest that anyone who trusts governments (and government 'scientists') over this man is mad. In fact, anyone who trusts governments period is mad.

  • I hope your right! how do you explain the constant rising sea levels and some islands are now disappearing?

what you are saying is ,now we can expect the rappid melting to stop and sea levels to drop.

    we shall see.

  • @019208237

Actually, the leading scientist on sea levels, Niels-Axel Mörner, has said time and time again that islands like Maldives are not sinking out of the excistance.

  • Time will tell...i have to say piers has done a bloody good job with forcasting britains cold winter unlike the met office who said back in october it will be a mild winter! they always get it wrong and he's always right! go piers i say.

  • Comment removed

  • nIce one

  • I think Piers is spot on with this long term trend. A lot of peeps are in for a shock within the next decade me thinks..

  • What a scruffy presentation...

Doesn't do any favours for trying to get me to believe you and have any trust in this forecast, which I don't.

  • Not as slick as "An Inconvenient Truth" but don't judge a book by its cover.

Piers is one of the best (if not the best) forecasters in the world today.

  • ..... and what excactly do you know what will happen in the next years or so? Would you happen to carry an Astrophysics degree? Have you predicted aprox 85% of the time that a certain portion of the US is going to be hit on that excact day? What's wrong, you think Dr. Corbyn's the devil? Can't say he's lying.. .he has made those predictions almost every time. You are ignorant; I forgive people like you. :) Good day.

  • I never said he is lying and I never even implied that he is the devil, so I don't understand where that came from. Just because I don't agree with something doesn't mean I think he is lying, obviously it is possible for him to get it wrong unintentionally???

  • All I was saying is that I don't trust in this forecast, its only an opinion which I am entirely entitled too without being labeled ignorant, especially because you have no way to actually prove that I'm am being ignorant, it could be in fact, that you are the one being ignorant but again I have no way to prove it and nor do I believe as such.

  • You have got to admit that it is quite a scruffy, unprofessional presentation, maybe a little more effort/time should be invested into such a forecast as it would help to make him look far more credible to someone like myself who has not seen a previous forecast by him and is not aware of his 'reputation'.

Also thank you Antiquax for such a civil, informative reply, I'll have a look at some of his other forecasts if I can :)

  • Damn 500 character limit!! :P

  • This is typical: You are from the UK (I don't know which part... unfortunately) and you all have the best reputation for spotting the most minute nook and cranny of any person whatsoever. You don't have to judge a book by its cover. He doesn't have to be the most fashionable presenter or has to be the most notticible under the tabloids to know that he's very credible; this is just being shallow in your behalf... which is typical and I respect that. (continue since characters are limitted)

  • (continue for KaMaCaRz) The man devotes his time into detailing information about our weather that no other normal weather meteorologist can't even lay their hands on, since they themselves are limited into the inteligence of Astrophysics. If you were to master mathematics and lay your hands on a book, or listen to DVDs of the Astronomy, you will realize that there is alot more out there than meets the eye. This is why I love Physics of all sorts. I am majoring in this. Not easy, but worth it.

  • Also I just want to say I am not discrediting or dismissing any of his techniques nor am I discrediting the effect such things astrophysics have on our weather. I also don't understand how I am being shallow (or how that is typical) or spotting a 'minute nook or cranny' but I digress, opinions are just that, opinions. Thank you for the (somewhat heated) discussion and good luck with all things in your future.

  • Actually (and thankfully) I'm not from the UK, although such a stereotype as above is ignorant.

Honestly I can't be bothered to continue this 'argument' as such discussions over Youtube are frankly very tedious and usually pointless. I have to say I'm very impressed in your majoring of such a complicated topic and I wish you all the best in your studies.

  • Thank you for sharing this information! Your methods make sense. I can't wait for you to share your techniques with the rest of the world! Again, thank you!

  • By the way, your weather action site is down and been down for a while!

  • Weather Action site fully working. Please check again.

  • @1weatheraction Is this Piers Corbyn official YT channel or does he have one? I would liek to know what he forecasts for the year 2010 and 2011? Anyone knows?

  • This is timely. Well done Peirs. I think we need more activity on the BBC now. Maybe Jeremy Clarkson could get involved. I will share this as much as I can. Piers, are you on Twitter?

  • thank you soo much Peirs you are soo blessed! I love you...
