guys!he went to brown brigade not because of the money but due to his passion to play metal...if u listen to brown brigade u will see that it's great.im sad too because of the fact that he left my favorite punk rock band but he is happy now and that's what matters.....he speaked with sum 41 about their new album and when he found out that it would be a pop album he choosed to leave because he thought he would be an "obstacle" to the band..

Personally, I'd take this band over Sum 41 any day, but then again, to me, all modern day punk bands (except for the Red Hot Chili Peppers), sounds like a Green Day clone to a certain extent (especially on the vocals).

Although, I have to admit that Brown Brigade has obvious similarities to Iron Maiden in their sound. Of course, that's what they do anyway, combining Iron Maiden with a touch of Reggae. Need to read Iron Maiden's lyrics though (the last album of their's was brilliant).

Derryck has a characteristic voice but in terms of ability and skill he is a horrible vocalist.

You want good vocalists?

People like Chris Cornell, Geoff Tate, the dude from Symphony X, Roy Khan, Eddie Vedder, etc. And Brownsound is much, much better than him.

Derryck is an ok lyricist but definitely not the best. lmao

And SUM 41 is a good band but not the best.
