No, the point is to back yourself against the wall so you won't get pushed back, and spam your sword attack. You can't miss him since you are against a wall and he can't beat the crap out of you with his fire spell.\

Or you can go with what DoomHammeRDBR said and get any armor with "Harmony" in it's sufflix.

Anything with "Harmony" on it will prevent knock back and reduce stun duration I think...but it's been like 12 years since I've touched this game.

diablo's greatest weakness, as you say, is a weapon with Fastest Attack Speed.

I had a Composite Bow, not magical, not nothing, just average 3-6 damage, and just clicked diablo like 20-30 times and he was done :D

p.s. he didn't "hit" me, not even once, lol.

@AgathoDaimon911991 Yes, indeed it is. If you attack fast enough the recoil he takes from being hit is long enough for you to hit again, thereby making him in a permanent recoil, until death. I did the same strategy, it was kind of lame, though. :P

You won't find them in every game but hey spawn in the catacombs, sometimes on lvl 4 in the labyrinth. They look a bit yellow. As far as i know they are still in the game.

i played and renew my character levels many times until all of my gears and weaps are gold...it took me less than a yr...but last yr i just learned how to use the dead speeding spell key's...only up to 4 can b used:) and goodflow, griswolds edge is good for the lava cave levels, but a new weapons such as Demon Destroyer sword or the Valors Axc or the Vipered Ivory Immolator staffs r probobly the best weapons ive looted on the game :)

I remember when I beat this game years ago, I also was a Warrior. Yer, at the end all those ranged monsters become a problem, what I did was use a Fire Wall spell, make four walls of fire and run around they corner, if they walked through those walls, they died. Also, at one point I had 75% resist to everything, but I had another ring that if I put it in I had 50% resist to poison and lightning, but 100% to fire. So, when I fought Diablo he couldn't hurt me. Which made the battle a piece of cake

Diablo can be harmed by Holy Bolt. It's a great luring method as well since the only other creatures affected by it are undead.

Or do as I did as sorc: Melee combat! You dont stand any chance by casting spells at him. I had 2x ring of giants (19 and 17 str) saintly great helm (armor 14, 119% armor) and saintly platemail (armor 45, 122% armor) and bought meself a nice knights warstaff (31% to hit, 107% damage). I had around 150 armor in total. Then just pound him down as the video above shows. Use mana shield and get a few full mana pots=Easy victory.

That is for the multiplayer part though. I've only played single once.

The trick with the walls is quite cool really, it can help alot if your character isn't the strongest. But actually Diablo himself wasn't the real problem, it was more his pack of mages and knights surrounding him, especially on hell difficulty. Diablo is (relatively) easy to beat if you lure him away from the others and fight him alone. The sorcerer has a harder time than the others though i agree.
