My German is rusty but after reading the above comment I laughed. The US has the highest trained military in the world. Russia's air force and navy would be destroyed without any resistance. Russia's silos would be taken out a few minutes after war was declared. With no air force on Russia's side the US would control the sky over Russia and either force you to surrender or die in shame for the Russian armies stupidity.

Also in reference as to which country would win, without nukes. While i adore russia it's my favorite country. A battle against the U.S. they would lose. Even if it was on Russia's soil. Problem is Russian Equipment is very very outdated, they're still using weapons from the cold war. Once america is past Russia's spetsnaz the battle would be over pretty quickly considering U.S. has air and sea superiority. If russia does modernize it's military though it would very interesting.

now the are modernizing their navy and air force I think that the project will be finished at 2017 at most :).
the real problem is their ground forces as you know they have tons of equipment from the soviet era. Sadly to replace these equipment it would require a lot of money which Russia lacks.

If Russia launched a nuke, then the minute those silo doors open we would either have 100 nukes airborne toward you OR use our counter missiles in Poland, Alaska, and California. My German is rusty but after reading the above comment I laughed. The US has the highest trained military in the world. Russia's air force and navy would be destroyed without any resistance. Russia's silos would be taken out a few minutes after war was declared. With no air force on Russia's side the US would control the sky over Russia and either force you to surrender or die in shame for the Russian armies stupidity.

We went to war with IRAQ to protect the oil fields of the middle east (one of the reasons). The reason the war is over is because we took out Saddam. We didn't gain ANY oil from the Iraq war and unless you can evidence of it (which is impossible because we didn't obtain any oil), then you should be quite. Iraq did have weapons of mass destruction. You may also want to remember that the Russians backed off when the United States threatened them with military and economic intervention. Another thing to remember is that Russia tries to win wars by attrition: throwing millions of troops with little ammunition and poor equipment against well trained armies (like Germany in WWII).

@sperryful thats not true russia have no leave georgia cause the americans sad so they left georgia cause the win the war agianst them and they stay there in abkhasia and south ossetia and i dont think that america would attack russia when the war was cause russia know what they do when this would happen russia have good weapons not only the old stuff they have new to

Except a Aircraft carrier fleet could annihilate Russia's entire Naval/air forces. That is a fact and you can argue all you want but, if you can't cross the pacific then, there is no way to invade the U.S. Russia (ashamed of the ass kicking on it's military forces) would try to then launch its nuclear supply at the U.S (if any remained after the bombardment) which would prove to be unsuccessful because they would just be shot down a few mins after launch.
