  • @Burgerphile

Lamb is a Greek favorite, if I'm not mistaken

but Gyro is made from pork.

    My mistake.

  • @tomken8dy Lamb is indeed a greek favorite, we just don't put it in gyro. Pork, on the other hand.. :P Love it.

  • @wolverine9921

    THANK YOU!!

You KNOW someone will likely dispute you though...

  • @wolverine9921 most usual is pork because it is less expensive than the lamb or the chicken......here in Greece we usually use use pork to make the souvlaki and the gyros

  • asto notis22 den to xoun to elliniko. Greeks eat pork you tomken8dy idiot

  • @iFun509

They served lamb, too when I went there.

  • @tomken8dy the original greek souvlaki contains pork, or, at special cases, chicken. But, I'm telling you, that lamb is not what we usually put in souvlaki.

  • ti lamp vre malaka!

  • it is good for you ... come on a little bread yoghurt and vegetable come on there is not many thing against this sandwich :))) or wrap .. i love it nice one

  • @tamaskrisztian

This little video about a sandwich

    caused 100 arguments ..

  • about the yoghurt or none yoghurt i have looked it up on wikipedia and well at least 8 country has it`s own way to serv it or made gyros ... the traditional greek style , no one really knows everyone has their own way to make so i really can not say anything about the video or a way to made it ... in my country has many dished what are known internationally exemple the gulash and even there at least 20 ways to make one and many ways to serve it . so if the taste good no one cares gyro Luxury:))

  • Lamb is lame, eat pork!

  • ur pronouncing it wrong, and the sauce is made from cucumbers not yogurt

  • @gtaisawesome87

    Yes, I pronounced it wrong.

Isn't it made from yogurt, cucumbers and garlic?

  • @tomken8dy well it doesnt taste like yogurt is in it

  • @gtaisawesome87

I googled it a while ago. I'm pretty sure it has yogurt in it.

  • @gtaisawesome87 Does it really matter how he pronounces Gyro? Just confirming your mistake correcting his mistake, NUMBNUTS, TZAZIKIs' MAIN INGREDIENT IS YOGURT!!! Shame on you, i'm calling you out!

  • @wtfrufrukus i was just saying my opinion dumbass that it doesnt taste like there's yogurt in it

  • @byJessCh

    Can't talk...eating... :))

  • hummus, pita bread, baklava, gyros....Greeks have some of the best food on the planet.

  • @PieceofMindmusic yup :))

  • @PieceofMindmusic Hummus is a middle-eastern food. It has nothing to do with the greek cuisine. Also, baklava, is more turkish rather than greek. If you want to eat something purely greek, try moussaka, spanakopita or a greek salad ;)

  • its no greek the greek pita no have

    μαρούλι

  • its called a donair here in novascotia, made from beef. but a difforent sauce, its made out of condenced milk and other ingredients

  • gyros is amazing but no healthy...at hawaii the best restaurant is THE FAT GREEK

and is sell gyros...i heard that one of the best restaurants in NY is greek too

  • gyros is amazing but no healthy...

  • Baklava is not turkish, the ancient Greeks and Byzantines always used thin layers of pastry with nuts and honey, bug deal. The Turks were nomad, a little hard to create sophisticated cooking in a nomadic way of life, the climate and living created other needs in their diet. Middle East and Ottomans had a major influence from the Byzantines mostly, and the Byzantines from ancient Greece and other cultures that were part of the empire as well.

  • *big deal

Ε ρε κόλλημα να αποδεικνύουν ότι όλα είναι τούρκικα... :-S

  • gyros is made from pork....

  • @KONSTANTINA25ify I'll STILL eat it!! :)

  • @KONSTANTINA25ify they are also made of beef and lamb.

  • @KONSTANTINA25ify No, LAMB

  • @KONSTANTINA25ify rofl google gyro and see how many come up as a pork recipe, do some homework before you say silly shit like that. Granted, there are many different meats used in all different types of gyros, but the original concept and tradition is to use seared lamb:)

  • @cellarbomb there aren't a lot of gyros types.i am not talking about doners kebabs and all these things...i know that they are made of other types of meat.i am talking about real greek gyro made by pork pieces from the neck of the animal...i dont know if in your country you make gyro from lamb but if you come in greece you will see that we make it only by pork and sometimes from chicken.oh and check in weekipedia for more infirmation

  • me either but there great

  • @jessiebabii2010 yup :))

  • @kingzxcvbnm1 I dont know but i read that it originated at the time of the ottomans in turkey and then it spreaded over several countries including greece

  • @VLbadboyVL07 serving meat in flat bread or crossing the meat to a wooden thin stake is one of the oldest and simplest recipes, the ancient Greeks and Byzantines used it all the time, other cultures as well.

  • @kingzxcvbnm1 Baklava is from Turkey ;)

  • tzairo me kafe, oti na'nai!! se ligo tha baleis kai tarama mesa.. Tzairos!!!

  • @Anne111222

That's all Greek to me. lol

  • @tomken8dy yeah but she says the truth

  • greeks and gyro its not made with lam but pork

  • @dolcevita1386 It's still good. :))))

  • @kingzxcvbnm1

The giant slices of tomato struck me the most.

I had a slice of one, grown in volcanic soil, it filled

the plate and was served as a course in the meal.

  • its pronounced YEEEEEE ROH

  • @ddirco

All I know is this is the only FOOD video I know about that

    has started so many arguments.

Why do people argue when they can just sit together and eat? :)

  • @tomken8dy This is exactly what I say :) When I was in U.S ; I was eating together with greek friends ;) Neighbour countries are always friends.. Happy is the one who eats DONER-GYRO..

  • @ddirco I won't argue. :)

  • @ddirco they are actually called gyros and they taste million times better than a kebab/doner! not even in the same league!!

  • @harkness123

you fool its an exact imitation of doner. you have never eaten a doner it seems.

  • you actually are eating beef.......gyros are lamb and beef ground, mixed with spices, shaped to the mold you see them turning on the spits

  • @limpbizquick

    I DON'T WANNA KNOW.

I just wanna eat it. LOL

  • jus kiddin' i love gyros' !!!! and by the way ! i'm jewish.

There have been many harsh words typed under this video!!

  • omg i love gyros there the best mmmmm

  • @jessiebabii2010

Just be careful how you pronounce it. People get upset. lol

  • Why would you think and not be sure at all about the health benefits of lamb or beef? Weird...Are you going to steal your pals thunder in a second and shoot your porn collection or dungeon in this video cause I've got a headache?
