guys im going to settle this. i am greek american and have been to greece many times. the meat is lamb. greece is very big on goats and sheep. the tzaziki sauce is made from goat or sheep yoghurt, cucumber, garlic, and other spices and such. it is served on pita with onions tomatos lettuce and the g is silent its more like yeeros the gyros its the best tasting stuff on earth
@wolverine9921 most usual is pork because it is less expensive than the lamb or the chicken......here in Greece we usually use use pork to make the souvlaki and the gyros

Baklava is not turkish, the ancient Greeks and Byzantines always used thin layers of pastry with nuts and honey, bug deal. The Turks were nomad, a little hard to create sophisticated cooking in a nomadic way of life, the climate and living created other needs in their diet. Middle East and Ottomans had a major influence from the Byzantines mostly, and the Byzantines from ancient Greece and other cultures that were part of the empire as well.
