@robertec1981 Sure, I know how to search for information and use logic, and my logic says there is no part of an engine such as a "head valve" I did what you just said, typed in head valve. and I didnt get a single thing to come up that just said "head valve" there were some videos that had some extra words on either end, like "head valve job" and others similar. like I said, head valve makes no sense. a car has a head(s) and valves, putting them together doesnt make a head valve.

If the head gasket goes out it would be white smoke, more like steam actually, and would acually cause major damage quickly. There is no such thing as a head valve, there are valves in an engine, not head valve. Valve guides can leak oil into the cylinders while the car is sitting, here we have the reason cars smoke on startup, another culprit is bad rings on the pistons, also allowing oil to leak through.

@zloben9000 obviously not. piston rings would cause smoke on startup, but have nothing to do with or are any way related to the "head valve" valve guides/seals/seats could be bad and cause this, head gasket could let some oil in, but usually this would cause bigger problems such as introducing coolant to the crank case causing bigger issues, and more obvious symptoms of a problem.

@Roadzery Changing the oil probably wouldn't help. You could use a thicker oil, it probably wouldn't let as much past the rings at first but still in time it would end up back where it started. And the "Overhaul in a can's" are worse for your engine than anything, sure they clean the shit out of the engine good but where does the crap come from? Piston rings maybe? Most people don't know it but sometimes the crap built up in the rings is an engines last defense before it blows up.
