  • this music just makes me think of shinji and asuka, both of their mental breakdowns i guess...

  • 1 of the best animes ever really fucked my head up with the 3 endings

  • cant avoid to move my head around ♫

  • excelente

  • "I musn't run away"

all I could think about when I played this on trombone as a solo.

  • idk why but i like this kind of music, its really calming... just saying...

  • Un versión estraña, con esas 5 notas iniciales. No había escuchado nunca esa pequeñísima variación.

  • great:)

  • Ah, now to sip tea out of fine china and eat crumpets and scones.

I mean, being English, I do that anyway, but now I feel all stereo-typey doing it.

  • feel like a sir

  • @facu281 OBRA, sin H de burro

  • @shinwa1981 ^^XDDDDDD

  • Symphony**** Thumbs this is the correct way of spelling it.

  • Every time I here this song, I'm reminded of pain and suffering with disturbing images of blood, gore, murder, semen, young boys and girls presented in a dehumanized fashion- it's in all in my head and I can't un-see it. Damn you Eva, damn you...

  • bellisima melodia

  • god, can i just flow through cello while this plays, and then when its over go back to my miserable life. =)

  • JUST GORGEOUS!!!

  • Bach Unaccompanied Cello Suite #1.

  • What a beautiful piece and a prime example of how the most simplistic scenes of eva are the most memorable

  • Ok, all well and good, but what has any of this to do with Bach?

  • @cnmaster01 Nothing at all, just that BACH WROTE THIS DAMN PIECE!!!!!! If you are wondering what this song has anything to do with evangelion... well, in one episode Shinji plays this song in the cello.

  • @RoyVanNistelrooij - Yes, it is Bach's Cello Suite No. 1

  • @cnmaster01 It's by Bach...

  • @totlyepic forgive me I meant what does Evangelion have to do with Bach. I don't know what I was thinking when I typed that...

  • @cnmaster01 This song (and a lot of other famous classical pieces) are featured in the anime.

  • @cnmaster01

Nothing. Bach was just slapped there because it sounds deep.

  • i noticed the change in pictures though they are all the same.

  • It's called Cello Suite No.1 By Johan Sebastian Bach.

  • What kind of cello are they using? It sounds really REALLY bad. No offense to the show, but it does no justice for the actual song.

  • @julienlego, I actually like how it doesn't sound very... clean? Fits with the show. X3

  • Absolutely terrifying.

  • evangelion rules!

  • sometimes i wish i was stuck in Evangelion just to be part of something greater that life...

  • @itsvoogle Really? I mean I know it's the best thing ever but... I don't think I'd want to actually BE anyone in that show. They don't exactly have... good lives.

  • @PeteTStarr Shinji's got a harem

  • @itsvoogle thank you.

  • i love classic this is pure genius

  • i like this version the most on youtube, but it could be better :p

  • .....soothing

  • Anno used classical music in Evangelion, especially in End of Eva, in a similar manner of Stanley Kubrick using happy songs to highlight horrific film scenes. Putting yourself in Shinji's shoes, you hear this pleasant music thinking that everything is going to be alright, that the world isn't going to end and that humanity isn't going to dissolve into one liquid entity, but that couldn't be further from the truth. In a way, it corrupts a very pure form of music.

  • Man this is beautiful, I wanna listen to this when I die xD

  • i feel so fancy when i listen to this

  • it sounds like the mario brunello version... A bit faster though, I think.

  • Supposedly all the Cello suites were intended to just be etudes, but I have a hard time believing that.

  • i can't find a slower version of this.... only faster and faster =(

I still remember Shinji playing this, i'll never forget it

  • same here bro... same here.....

  • This is the version I was looking for! Every other misses the first five compasses (If that is the propper name, I really don´t know that much about classical music) or plays to fast. The Rostropovich version, for instance, left me with my nerves hanging on a thread; he plays too fast, asi if getting it done with, instead of waving the sounds so greatly like this one. But that is just my opinion.

  • Haha I was lookin for this one too. I bought Yo-Yo-Ma's version of this song and it was sorta fast, but still good. Time to get the Evangelion Soundtrack!

  • I prefer this version too. However I think the reason so many others play it faster is to show their skill off rather than any other reason.

  • @DhiegoRauda do you know who's the cellist for this verison? I agree with your opinion about the five notes.

  • Bach was a genius, it fits the anime nicely.

  • is'ent this VOISPEAR???

  • it has a title but I don't believe that's it. I know Partita iii for Violin solo is Gavotte en Rondeau, but I can't recall the name of this one.

  • al fin lo encontre! 5*******

  • first heard this when i watched la corda, one of my most fave cello pieces

  • finally! this is what im looking for

  • and probably the best and most profound anime of all...

  • @dalcazar96, Hahaha, i love evangelion, but i still thought that was pretty funny. Get a sense of humor guys.

  • I agree, this is what first got me into anime. It's a little bittersweet because in my eyes everything else since then falls short. The animation and production leaves a little to be desired but the story itself, in my eyes, it the best yet (with only a few contenders).

  • then you need to watch full metal alchemist it's not mind blowing but it is a very good story

  • @guillensa is

  • @guillensa I agree. Still, though, it did not teach me how to comprehend magnets. I've been contemplating upon that since the 12th century, you know..

  • this song has the same effect on me like "Kakariko Theme" of the Zelda OST

  • feelin' calm

  • I like the NGE music, but this is definitely one of my favorite songs.

  • I want to get a cello just to play this song.

btw random, but poor Shinji. I just feel so bad for that guy.

  • maaan this anime had some of the greatest compositions in classical music, being one of the reasons why this anime is so awesome

  • No, anybody can get just a bunch of amazing music together. The way NGE used it was what made it beautiful.

  • rostropovich

  • Beautiful, sad, peaking, intriguing, fantastic, painful and yet uplifting.

  • That says it all...

  • awesome anime

  • buen anime, buena pieza....

  • Hands down best anime of all time.

  • God damn right.

  • so beautiful *tears up*

  • Amazing..

  • i lovethis

  • beautiful, just beautiful!

    reflect perfectly shinji's inner emptiness...

  • Top !

  • add &fmt=18 to the end of the video for high quality audio

    ---

    the piece name is

"Prelude in G minor" from Bach's Cello suite No.1

    Exitos!

  • CELLO SUIT No. 1

    BACH

  • wow i love thes song

  • I found it

    it's beautiful

  • this is it! i love this song is that the real name in the info box?
