oh man do you no how long i been searching for the name and singer of that track. i herd it a few times on my dads cassette. lol this track and the clancy eccles rod of correction. do you no what album if any that they both appear on? i wanna buy that cd. i no theres other ppl on it too. it most be some reggae mix.
like ozzie says, it's an old, old traditional song, Max Romeo adapted the lyrics as a overall commentary about Jamaican society - "some a big shot", "some a sufferah" "some a criminal, some a ginal" (con man, hustler, etc). there was a huge divide between the rich and poor, and the "share the wealth" sentiment of the song was a popular theme for the PNP party that put Michael Manley in office in 1972......... "Let The Power Fall On I" , off this same album was his huge hit at the time.
its an old folk jamaican song. chi chi bud is a flock of birds, it originally about different types of birds but he changed it up to sing about huslters
wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, almost cannot be topped.Thank you.
