  • HOOAH!

  • Born Dec of 69'. One of my earliest memories is hearing this song on a pair of book case speakers. I was three and this has been one of my favorite songs since.

  • Who else thought the second guitarist was John Lennon at first?

  • Great story teller, glad my generation can claim him :) One of the best things to roll out of Philadelphia. Wish he was still around.

  • The crowd sucks!!!!!

  • my friend is so naive that he thought the frank sinatra wrote this!!!!!!!!

  • Damn the woman at :58 to 1:06 is hot! I bet you that was the girl he was looking at in the song. Also, AMAZING SONG!

  • @surferboyy96 I'm so glad you not only have wonderful taste in music but also a great sense of humor!

  • I come here because Phoebe said so

  • 18 people are about to get a visit from Leroy Brown.

  • @PaladinValmir LOL

  • Jim had a lovely clear voice..

  • Ahh the good old days when artists sounded the same live as in the studio. Jim Croce is a timeless classic!

  • Coolest dude to strum the strings. What a storyteller, what a singer-songwriter. Beautiful person. If there were only Jim Croce-type peeps in this world, there would be no war.

  • WW loved this song. He lived it before I was born. He passed of old age in '81, but dang he loved this song. He was kinda my grampa during my early teens, and I am so lucky he turned me on to Jim Croce. I am a better person because of Jim's many great contributions to humanity.

  • Glad my parents/ Grandparents opened up my mind for awesome music like this

  • 1:45 he was obviously eying a girl in the crowd.

  • I remember seeing this!!!!!

  • Home Alone 3 bring me here

  • God what happened to music....

  • No one cares how old you are... STOP IT

  • i don't know whats more manly. Having a caterpillar patch on a denim jacket or that awesome moustache!!

  • 17 people are leroy browns

  • god bless my un cle alex and his friends for introducing me to this kind of music

  • John Lennon on Backup

  • @llaparle You're joking, right?

  • 16 years old and same here.... The way I see it, I listen to what I want. I dont care about what other people like.

  • I'm a 15 year old boy. I'm the only one of any of my friends who has any idea who Jim Croce is. I apologize for my generation fucking with music so badly.

  • @surferboyy96 This rap stuff just can't match up to this anyday.

  • Comment removed

  • @surferboyy96 You restore my faith in the youth of today young man!

  • @surferboyy96 I agree with you but you could do without the bad language. Jim Croce was an amazing artist.

  • @surferboyy96 I know right? Slapped one of my friends for saying this song sucked.

  • @surferboyy96 dont blame your generation. i am 34 and MY generation wont know him... I believe is our fault :D

  • @surferboyy96 you are so right now day generation has no idea what good music is.

  • so I listened to this song over and over again from Cheyenne Wyoming to Little America across the other side of the state.... Awsome buzz

  • I LOVE THIS SONG to bad he died

  • @TempeSoldier123 He's right. Klansmen are wasps and would not associate with a catholic Italian man

  • @txsfn47 I'm not a guy.. Trollolol

  • @1903xBlackxVelvetx i was saying that he is a man who is catholic and italian, bitch

  • @txsfn47 Where the hell did THAT come from?!

  • He was a racist. Even his wife (Ingrid) said he would invite Klansman to his house for dinner. I would never wish for the demise of anyone BUT if you are a racist many times Allah will seek vengance.

  • @TempeSoldier123 He was of Italian background.. and they have very strong beliefs and drum Catholicism into their kids so I think he was just a genuine person that liked everyone. He liked to know everything about everyone and would sing about them. The Klansmen just would of thought of him as another outsider being of foreign desent. The KKK would not have accepted him. Simple.

  • @1903xBlackxVelvetx Huh? I have no idea what you are talking about. You went from Catholicism to Klansmen thinking he was an outsider. PLEASE deal with what I said and do your research. He was a racist that had Klansman in his house often . HIS OWN WIFE EVEN SAID SO.

  • @TempeSoldier123 I thought I was pretty clear with what I said, but like @txsfn47 said the Klansmen would not have associated with him because he was a Catholic Italian. What his wife said could just be a lie. Rock 'n' roll wives resented their husbands lifestyles. You are only aloud into the KKK if you are of WASP Breeding which means White Anglo-Saxon Protestant. So basically, Fair skin, Blue eyes and Light hair.

  • @1903xBlackxVelvetx You are correct. Ingrid never said that and more importantly Jim Croce(Philly boy) had nothing to do with the KKK.Believe what you want; but Leroy Brown was an actual black guy Croce ran across and wrote a song about it.

  • Come for the mustache and stay for the song.

  • I found this song after listening to Wu Tang Clan.

  • im glad i found this song

  • the poor mans frank zappa............and before you start yelling i mean it in the best way possible because i love em both

  • every time it was my dad and i in a car he would play non stop croce it was amazing, i always asked why he was attracted to a girl built like a refidgerater with a head, and my dad never knew why

  • @notpopcorn lol

  • sknyrd song is about a flea and not about getting rid of me. this song? put it with come together-add chipped animals, everyone making money, spilling oil, starting wars, covering stuff up why do i waste my time even writing dont know does everyone already know this stuff is anyone out for one common good?? not justice- just elimination of pain and painful places

  • blue jean jacket with a CAT patch, working man's tuxedo.

  • 17 people are angel of light hehehehe

  • Am I the only person who thinks this song has a racist under tone

  • Joe Rogan!!

  • anybody think he looks like luigi off mario? just sayin haha

  • @MrJahhead Mario and Luigi are Italian. Jim Croce was born Italian catholic. Luigis character was actually based somewhat on Croce.

  • Beautiful song.

  • 17 people are knobs

  • Toe Tapping Talent at its purest!

    I love it!

  • Funny, but Jim ends the song by still saying Leroy was the baddest man in the whole damn town.

"Leroy looked like a jigsaw puzzle with a couple of pieces gone." He never said what the other guy in the fight looked like! Maybe Leroy won after all!

  • @UncleMikeNJ

Jim was mocking Leroy. They show him getting run out of town in the animated music vid.

He meant " He (was) bad, bad Leroy Brown..."

  • im fucking addicted to this song

  • I see Bieber's name on every single video I look at any more. That little twat will fade into obscurity like many who have come before him, truly great music like Croce is timeless. Just enjoy the song and let the little shit make his dollars and disappear.

  • a razor in his shoe thats me lmao

  • He sounds the same live as he does on the recording. Same can't be said of 90% of today's singers...

  • @godsmith3

Agreed. Note for note. The ONLY difference i noticed was the harmony at the very end. (Gone before most of us had ever heard of him. What a shame.)

  • Hey Chefmark2009-- Brown is his LAST NAME! I think you should wake up buddy! Why do black people always think that white people are always being racist?? For ex: My g/f works @ a Shell gas station. If she does not sell a black person a pack of cigs. b/c they do not have a drivers license to prove they r 21, then they think she is doing it b/c they are black! Wake up, it is the law people, not what color u are!

  • I want girl N pink too..lol
