Photoshop 7 is $100 american and offers limited tools and has no 3D support.

Photoshop CS3 (CS4 is the newest) allows the artist to fully customize the working environment and create actions in order to streamline the workflow. It also has full 3D support and allows the user to export drawings for use in AutoCAD and 3D Max programs.

Um, what in the hell are you talking about? He balanced median values and had an even gradation with a soft brush of all things. Learn to speak and learn a few things about value before you try to critique technique.

At least I try to speak english....my first langage was spanish and then I learned french so stfu before talking and go learn.....

and on top of that I studied for like 3 years in the arts so I do know more stuff then you do and this guy rly needs to learn more about how to make a realistic sphere . If u dont beleave me then buy a book on photoshop and do some reasearch.

Only with practice you're eye will be able to see those things.

As a graduate student in Illustration, I'm pretty sure I have a fair amount of knowledge in "art". Buying a book on photoshop isn't going to teach you anything artistically. It's a tool, just like charcoal or oils.

And again, this is a fairly realistic sphere, depending on what material it is supposed to be representing.

even if u graduate in illustration , im pretty sure u still need to study more . As I am myself have around 10 years of experience(3years at school) I did showed this video to one of my teacher in the university and he has like over 45 years of experience so he does know more stuff then u do . And he told me this guy needs more work to be able to make something rly realistic.

Ok but look at yourself on 0:10 He types there "Sphere" ^^ Circle and sphere are little more diferrent things circle is just circle you know. and sphere is this so it's detailed. Circle can be just filled with color and that's it ;)

Thank you very much for this tutorial, it has helped me a lot and inspired me to try out some more things. Starting with these simple shapes is a good way to start. I did surprisingly well my first try at this. I'd love to see more tutorials. Keep it up! And just a little suggestion, some more tips during the video would be nice so I see why you change the brush sizes and such.
