guys got great skills, of course I'm refering to the man drawing ,not the guy holding the camera. well he's no actually holding the camera as much as he's shaking the shit out of it! At what point did you think a handheld 240p being wiggled the entire time was going to truly show this guys talent. Hell the first 5 minutes is almost useless. It's not until he uses the darker color to go over his stencil (or rough draft) that you can see any detail. Tripod and better camera..I'm just saying.

No offense to Jim Lee (met him in person and know someone who worked with him), but his anatomy is horrible, his artwork is really exaggerated and unrealistic, which at least to me and people that I know, isn't anything to respect.

Just my two cents.

Ask anyone who has ever submitted their artwork to Marvel or DC or any studio and see what they say. Besides, in all honesty, it doesn't really pay well (unless you become a celebrity in the world of comic books).

He singlehandedly made the x-men super super popular begining in the early '90s. Anyone who's ever even heard of the x-men can thank this extremely talented man right here. then he created his own teams like WildC.A.T.s and other characters which were pretty kick ass too. Great artists but also a great writer. He's among the handful who can be said to be the best of the best in comics.

He rose to fame in Marvel. He went indie and joined Image in 1992 as he desired to have more control over his own work. He would return to Marvel in 1996 and back to Wildstorm (One of the studios under Image). He left eventually and sold Wildstorm to DC Comics and is currently Co-Publisher.

Fun fact: X-Men #1 (Volume 2), on which he worked with Chris Claremont, is still the best-selling comic book of all time.

Jim Lee was my favorite comic book artist during my high school years. I was actually a comics junkie until my art teacher told me to STOP learning from these artist and start learning from the great masters of art. The next day he brought me loose pages from National geographic of Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel artwork. My jaw just dropped. From ancient Greece to Michelangelo to other great art masters I learnt so much about drawing the human form. These comic book artist also learned from them.

This is a horribly filmed video. Can't really see the drawing until 3 1/2 minutes later when he is inking the pencils. I think its the angle, which has to much reflective light. More close ups. The drawing is the point of interest, not jim lee's face and hands.
