  • yeah the pitch on 0.35 was a two seamer,, dont know if he actually throws it along the two seams,, it could be a running 4seam fastball (natural movement) but i havent seen enough video to judge.. he has changed his mechanics after TJ though,, go check out some new vids of him.. it would be an understatement to say he's legit,, if he can stay healthy he has a chance to be one of the best,, but on the other side,,most of the first round picks have that chance..

  • @nathancolin1 2 SEAM FASTBALL BREAKS THE OTHER WAY THATS HIS CUTTER ITS DISCUSTING HE ALSO THROWS A KNUCKLE CURVE A 4 SEAM AND SOME SORT OF CHANGE IM NOT SURE HAVENT ASKED HIM BUT ITS A GOOD CHANGE

  • @nugget4204206 we didnt ask for his baseball statistics.

  • 0:35 wtf was that!? 2 seamer? filthy

  • His windup looks suspiciously like Mark Prior...

Kidding, kid looks great. Nice pickup.

  • LEGIT! all you nay sayers r jsut phillies fans haha hes ours now! hes improved his delivery after tommy jon and pitches with ease now erasing health concerns for his arm in the future.

  • played with him in cali @ area code showcase. kids legit.

  • legit? kid is a top rated prospect. I bet he shat all over you at that showcase

  • 22-year old Tommy John vet...so he's got something in common with Marcum, McGowan, Litsch...fuck me.

Jays won't even come close to .500 for the next 5 years and I don't see it getting any better after that.

  • @Flamesfan7 idiot of coarse they will. rogers is commited to spending 130 million once the right players are available. the teams not messin around anymore. beeston s gonna get us back on track trust me

  • we lost the good doctor, but as a Toronto native, I'll take this kid, especially with the movement on that 94 mph heater

  • I like like that late movement on the 94MPH heater. I say bring him up next year, and if theres no room in the rotation start his career in the pen to keep his arbitration cost down.

  • With that all-arm pitching motion i'm predicting 20 stints on the DL, 400 missed games and Tommy-John and shoulder reconstruction surgey

  • you must be a Mets fan.

  • Pretty sure he's already had TJ

  • I predict that you are a fuckin retard, am I close?

  • as a phillies fan i would say get rid of him because as i did more research i discovered he has already has Tommy John Surgery because of the AWFUL all arm wind up! i would like to keep Happ! but Halladay is a 20 Game winner each year! and if we could resign him and get another power bat i would say watch out cause we would be AMAZING!

  • another powerbat?i want a contact hitter that consistently gets on base.i also did some research and slowmo of his delivery on high school and in 07 in high school he was almost all arm because he picked up his right foot to early with no dragline a high leg kick, his hips opened too earlyand a short stride. the newr footage showed that he fixed his foot problem , has a lower kick and longer stride to create more power from his legs and hips. also his changeup will get better rich dube nuff said

  • yeah cause Toronto is soooo much better than Philly....ha!

  • he doesnt have to live in philly live in the suburbs they are great!

  • You're a moron. Philly rules!

  • The phillies should trade him for roy halliday if they wanna win another world series

  • @jakec41 wow lol

  • @jakec41 GOOD CALL ASSHOLE WHERE DID U GET YOUR INSIDE INFO ? I MEAN YOU OBVISLY KNEW THAT IT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN

  • i agree he seems so stiff its like hes jus using pure arm strength to throw... idk why the phillies are saying hes untouchable for this halladay trade... i say fuck it DO IT PHILLIES GO BALLS DEEP!

  • hey morons hes 17 in this video...i saw him pitch earlier this year and hes incredible...they also want one of our young stud hitters(mayberry brown or taylor) DONT DO IT RUBEN!!! we dont need halladay world champs bitches!!!!!

  • dude we our players are in there prime n they only got a few years left on contracts so if we want to be champs again we should do this trade. our pitching hate to say hasnt been like last year n we need a spark in the bullpen. but if you wana take a chance with not trading and having our players gettin old n traded off w/e thats you opinion

  • He needs to fix his delivery.

  • he did

  • looks like he throws all arm

  • 0:33 beastly 2 seam

  • The biggest misconception of young hard throwers is that alot of arms that young cant handle the stress a 90 mph fastball brings...i had my tommy john surgery at 17 when i was throwing 92 93 94 mphs(4 years ago) in Alabama by Dr. Andrews...and there was nothing wrong with my biomechanics...and 3 weeks ago i just had my shoulder scoped...pitching is the hardest thing on an arm...especially a young one...kids at 13 are throwing 150 pitches a game...coaches and parents need to get educated.

  • oh my that slider is disgusting

  • the motion is so quiet and smooth.. and the ball still flies at 93.. pretty amazing.

  • ok guys help me out

there are two numbers on the radar screen

    top one and bottom one

is the top one the velocity coming out of his hand and the bottom when it reaches the mitt? I'm confused since some of the fastball ratings were 11 mph different from top to bottom

  • I think the top one is were he normally tops out on that pitch and the bottom is the actual speed of the ball

  • Yes. The top # is out of the hand and the bottom is as it's crossing the plate.

  • the first speed is as it's leaving his hand. the last speed is the last thing that moves. in the cases where the bat is NOT swung its the ball. The differences vary due to the movement of the pitch, the ball cutting away from the beam of the radar gave a lower plate reading than the low outside one that basically ran in a straight line to the radar. The 93 to 68 is just the speed of the bat.

  • Tommy John's surgery is routine for pitchers these days. It just isn't a big deal for a young pitcher to go through the surgery.

  • This is sad. Another upper body thrower undergoes TJ surgery. When will kids learn to throw with the body. The whole body. Lincecum, Nolan Ryan, and now HOF Goose Gossage. Full body throwers. Kids, learn from this common mistake above.

  • postaudio: You are absolutely right. I umpire in NJ, and see HS kids constantly throwing all arm. Knee bend, and leg drive are the keys to a healthy arm. I'm also a Phillies fan, and since they drafted Drabek, I hope he comes back, and is able to pitch at the next level.

  • hopefully by july he be throwin he might go to clearwater then move to low a again

  • Kyle had Tommy John surgery. His 2008 season now is basically a wash. Might be able to throw some innings at the end of the season. Still is rated as a top 5 prospect as a Phillie.

  • heyy

i acually talked to hime and he is really nice......he pitched for blueclaws and he is one of my favorite players

  • TJ surgery for Drabek

  • his curveball is just filth

  • dang! that 2-seam i wicked!

  • This guy is a beast. I've both played against him and seen him against other teams.
