I was saying he should have made it easy to findhimself no matter where he was, I mean even in the 80's they could. These days I'd get one of thos GPS phones that can be used anywhere
@Dorvell The kidney was from a teenage girl and it "became available" early on Saturday. By the time the hospital contacted me, it was Saturday evening. The kidney was deteriorating and it would only last so long. It was estimated that by ~6AM on Sunday it would no longer be viable.
Yeah, the "we've got your kidney" thing was definitely a Huh? moment for my Dad. Frankly, the whole night was sort of surreal. And the editors even skipped the thunderstorm that the small plane had to fly through on the way back to Orange County. I do remember filming that bit on the tarmac at John Wayne airport after they filmed my cousin and I driving the streets around upper Newport Bay for a couple of hours (you can see some of that footage around 2:58).
@mridgewy I LOVE the story, how's your dad doing today! you are a hero for your dad, and I'm glad he received his kidney in time and that it worked out for you all!

Why would you go to a place you might not be able to be contacted in that situation

@MaddDogg81
He didn't expect that a kidney would be "free" for him, so he enjoyed his life.
What are you gonna do?
Wait on something, you think you will never get, or enjoy the life with your family?
Sorry, English is not my native language
