  • Oh, it's so nice to see this! I'm playing Dolly in my high school's production, and I wanted to try to find something that would boost my confidence. This is really helping. Dolly here has such and amazing voice!

  • Wow! Amazing voices on everyone! :D

  • Were doing this in our comet capers(:

  • Really good job on a classic musical....big shoes to fill! Congrats to all!

  • Bravo to all of you!

  • Hello Dolly is my favorite show ever. Saw Channing do it twice. This production was so enjoyable and done SO WELL!!! I just watched it 3 times

  • What a wonderful production number. I saw the original Carol Channing show in NYC and 9 other performances by Channing, Ginger Rogers and Pearl Baily and this group did a very commendable job! Kuddos!

  • One of the best hs performances of this number I have seen. Only crituque, needs a bit more NY accent, and less Beyonce. Otherwise, great job. Also glad to see the guys not be a bit over the top, campy. Mazel tov, guys!

  • great song!!

  • very good i loved it and i lovee this song so easy to get it stuck in your head!! im currently rehearsing for a production of hello dolly wich is in about 2 weeks im soooo excited but i dont get to be in this song but im in sunday clothes wich is an amazing song too. u guys did really good i dont think we have as many guys that signed up as you did :( but its ok

  • im sorry but this is really good, but our high schools production of this scene was better than even streisands version.Northgate High School in Newna,Ga just closed this show on saturday and good heavens it was awesome.these guys are great, but our Dolly Levi, Molly Jacobsen, was streisand incarnate if not better.not just voice but charisma and the waiters had much deeper voices.good try though!

  • As someone who's seen many versions of this musical over the last 15 years, I can say that this was a very fun and well done. No, she isn't Barbra Steisand, but no one could be. She's not Merman, Channing, or Martin either. I don't know who she is, but she did a wonderful job. They may have too many people on stage, but for the love of heaven is that really important? Go write your own musical, direct it, and you can do it exactly as you want it.

  • What a great show - and a wonderful performance.

Brings back so many great memories from years in local theater. Nothing like it.

You guys (and gal ;) Did real good!

  • this is great but don't like it with those girls in it

  • this was pretty cool

  • we r doing this at my sholl this year!!!

  • it's cute. it's lovely. why not ? be more generous to their awesome performance...

  • I have no idea how old this clip is or what where it was done, but I found it most enjoyable. The cast looks like they really had a good time doing this number, and it shows. Thanks for posting.

  • Actually it is not terrible. In fact (and I have no connection to any of these people), it is not bad. Since Dolly first came out in 1964 I have been an avid fan of this show. (I was 9 years old and got to sing it in person with Louis Armstrong.) Not only as a Dolly fan, but also as a professional entertainer and former theatre director of middle school and high school kids, this is, actually, a pretty good effort for a large group of teenagers.

  • as is your critique. Jealousy/envy has a way of downgrading others.

  • We all are born critics, aren't we?

Anyway, the kids are having a ball! (Who cares if there are too many waiters!) They are not professional, but we (I) have fun watching them having fun!

  • Loved it. :)

  • The Choreography is awful!!

  • It seems clear that the director wanted this performance to have HUGE numbers with the stage full of people, which works in some numbers in "Hello Dolly". But not this one. This is supposed to be a dance number between Dolly and her boys, not Dolly and the whole cast stuffed on stage doing such simple dancing as is in this video. Dolly says in the lyrics "Wow FELLAS." Were you guys trying to confuse your audience? You can hear the girls' voices. Tying their hair back doesn't do much.

  • This is a great song and I remember a one special person with I was at the theater the last month.

  • and you're very, very retarded.

  • Is this girl a HS student ? Shes wonderful .

  • Really very good! There were a few places where Dolly was a bit sharp, but other than that, one of the best high school productions I have seen.

  • WOW! This really sets the bar high for a high school production. The singing and choreography are tremendously impressive.

  • Excellent! It's so heart-warming to see directors (drama-teachers?) utilize the talents of their cast! The choreography is superb, the cast is so synchronized. Is this high-school? All your voices are so professional!

  • Who ever played Dolly, has a great voice :)

  • This is a great performance. I loved the choreography. Dolly sings very well too.

  • Love it!

  • that was pretty good :) the hyper-speed duck walk at the end was kind of funny though, haha.

  • I'm looking for a copy of the music for the 'waiters gallop' for a benefit show we are doing in las vegas..anybody?

  • lovely.. loved dolly!

  • so we have a celb in our mids:) Very nice voice from "dolly" by the way.

  • I was in this!!! I'm manny! haha tall guy with sideburns lol it's so cool that this has 45K views after only 2 years

  • hehe danny is seriously the cutest thing i have ever seen...

  • this is really good.

i think this was better than my high school production. i went to see it, i was not in it. (i am still in middle school)

  • my school did this last year i was on tech crew it was awesome ...ours was way better dolly was really hot

  • Bravo! Excellent.

  • Wow! That was really good! I'm a Dolly fanatic since I first saw it on broadway as a teenager when Pearl Bailey was starring. I've since seen it with Carol Channing (1994 revival), Dorothy Collins, Nell Carter and the movie. I've also seen several high school productions but this was by far the best! You kids have really got it. Congrats!!!!

  • this is probably the best non-pro version i've seen on youtube

  • and that one guy is really tall...lol

  • WOW - this is High School? WOW. When my high school did this (many) years ago there were maybe 2 guys who could have done the choreography in this. I know a few of the waiters were actually girls - but guys you kicked butt in this number. Kudos to the choreographer for sure. And Dolly - you go girl - AWESOME!!

  • i agree with u

  • only if you were the lead - then the answer would be yes

  • what a voice!

  • that was pretty frickin sweet : ]

    like, wowowowow!

  • Honey-wotta an entrance!

  • This was BRILLIANT!

really..I'm...wow...this is... I can't put it in words...

    YOU ROCK!

    more please? =)

(actually I think you did more justice to this number than [the brilliant but not...dolly-like] streisand did....^^ I'm impressed =)

  • You nailed the belting notes, that's all that matters. :)

  • That was amazing!

  • wow umm...first off I would like to say that I was Dolly Levi in this production and have only recently ((like today)) found this video on youtube. We all put a lot of work and effort into that production and still had fun with it. The actors and actresses were all so highly involved that they became the soul reason for my motivation. I thank everyone in that cast and crew, and especially that person who posted this video. It was awesome to unexpectedly relive a great moment in my past.

  • WOW!! ... you were really good. I do agree with the comment below that maybe your voice is a bit "pop" for a show set in 1890, but you have a very strong presence and definitely made the character your own.

  • @bsbhottie213 great voice ^^

  • @bsbhottie213 WOW

  • @bsbhottie213 Your voice is absolut fantastic!!!! Continue in show business, please!!!!

  • @bsbhottie213 You are AWESOME!!

  • @bsbhottie213 and YOU are great in this role! You have a beautiful voice!

  • This is very good, for the age of the participants. Dolly's voice is just a tiny bit "pop" for my taste. The men are wonderful, you can tell they worked incredibly hard. I wish someone had taught Dolly to walk a little more gracefully. She lumbers a little bit. That said, I still think she's the best non-pro. on Youtube right now.

  • Here we have it another voice of let's find something wrong with somebody else. Why can't you just appreciate on the effort, enthusiasm, talent, and enjoyment they have just presented. I am sorry I forgot this is the "all about me" commentary you just gave.

  • Aw... obviously the mommy or daddy of one of the performers. Which little waiter is yours?

  • neither and if they were one of mine I would be very proud of them. And what play were you rejected in when you tried out. Very obvious you are taking out your anger in some area that touches a nerve. Maybe jealousy is surfacing.

  • Um...no. I've been rejected hundreds of times, but with the exception of a break to go to law school, I've made my living in professional theater since I was six. During high-school it was German tours of "...Dreamcoat" and "West Side Story" I'd post some videos, but don't have the cash to pay the equity fines if caught.

  • I've been asked to create a musical theater program for at risk youth. Hence the reason I've been scanning youtube for non-pro productions, because I've not ever worked with folks at that level.

Like I said originally, this number was very good. But, that doesn't mean that it could not be improved upon.

What you consider optimism, is condescension to anyone in that production who may care about self-betterment.

As fun as this conversation has been, I'm done with it now.

  • it has been interesting

  • I'm extremely impressed with everybody in this number. The dance moves are crisp, the orchestra is great, Dolly is fabulous (Dolly Levi is a roll that not everyone can pull off), and the performance has personality. I got goosebumps around 5:02 when everyone belted out "Hello Dolly!"

  • I wish my highschool had done this musical. The girl playing Dolly is great!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • By the way, I think this IS a good production. (If anyone cares for my opinion)

  • i do

  • How come this production gets so many comments? Maybe we can start a discussion at my videos. Come and watch my daughter at mrspayne13 Hello Dolly or her postings at Mizzie Hello Dolly.

  • Enough said! I am a lover of musical theatre, and these teens did a great job. It is worthy of posting. Teens need to be more involved in these ways - - it is productive use of time and talent. Kudos to these young performers who have done an able job of entertaining.

  • ll things considered (my personal love for the song and performers of high school age), that this group did a very good job. I mean we should be fair. These are 16 to 18 year old young men and a woman. They have not had years of professional training and experience. Just getting a group of boys to all move in sync can be an undertaking. I, for one, am pretty impressed with their effort.

  • No comparison with the original ... unfortunately ... At least an effort on size?

  • Sorry to say, many will disagree & comparison with the original is not what this is about. I am sure the cast was not out to compete with anyone else, but just wanted to do it with their best effort.

  • Sorry, I was just a voice of the cruel market competition. I am perfectly aware of how long and hard the path to sky stars is. Best to all of them!

  • guys..... she's not that great. she's nothing to rant and rave about. she doesn't suck either. she's just average. no need to get your balls in a knot, everyone! jesus.

  • Just what this world needs another self-proclaimed expert on negativity for high school musicals. Would love to see you perform and let us evaluate your talent. Chances are many would probably put your reply as your evaluation and even more harsh. Give us a break & listen to the applause at the end & let that speak for itself.

  • lmao jesus christ! i never said i was an expert! she was alright... she has a pretty voice. a little off pitch is all. what are you, her personal body guard? you gonna attack anyone who doesn't say she's fabulous and perfect? you need to freakin calm down. of course she got applause, she didn't do horrible, and she's probably got a lot of friends. take some ritalin for gods sake.

  • ooops accidentally posted from my bros account, didn't realize he was still logged in.

  • Don't over/analyze my statements, just watch your grammar and your emotions.

  • GIRL... pitch is key and yours needs some major work. and dont give me that "its only high school" crap.. ive seen NUMEROUS outstanding performances by female performers ESPECIALLY from IHA. something went wrong with the casting here. ugh.

  • *"ive seen numerous outstanding performances by female HIGH SCHOOL performers...*

  • so does that make you an expert

  • your opinion is exactly what this is. Again try giving some encouraging words instead of your negativity & maybe you will see your glass half full.

  • Actually for todays standards they did a good job, of course she will never be a Barbra, nor will the casts of today match those of the ones back then, there is just not the same perfection, but she was alright, not as bad as you make her out to be, and I think I am a Play expert, as having lived to hear the original and all these years later, having been to so many Broadway Plays, they were OK!

I've seen some high school plays were really bad! It your opinion! Maybe her weight offended you!

  • Give us all a break!! You are missing the point also. Why can't you just appreciate the effort & enthusiasm these kids put into this. You say not Barbara or the cast, but you are a play expert, what "Broadway review" columnist do you write for. Why would you even bring up a person's weight. Sounds like your ego needs some help in humility & appreciation of some very talented high school kids.

  • give me a break!!!! needs help?she was great as Dolly!!Many will & disagree with your opinion. Try being positive in a cynical world & your glass will appear 1/2 full

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!

  • You guy's and lady were awesome. Not good job, but great job. Take your well deserved bow. Bravo! Bravo!

  • First off, I want to state I think te young lady portraying Dolly has an outstanding singing vice, wonderful stage presence, and superb acting ability. However, I think her interpretation of this song and Broadway songs are very off the mark. This is a showtune, not a pop song you are singing as an audition for American idol. I hold the director mroe accountable for this faux paus than the young actress, it is the director's responsibility to guide the actress in the proper interpretation.

  • Give us a break!! Don't be so critical & petty toward a high school performance that is greatly appreciated by many a person. The time & effort behind all those responsible is to be commended & very much appreciated. In my opinion they were just fantastic!!!

  • I don't see how offering constructive criticism and advice qualifies as either critical or petty.

If you weren't so defensive and reactionary, you would perceive that I was extremely complimentary and attemting to offer helpful hints.

Also, if people posting videos on Youtube don't want to be critiqued, they should disable the comments option.

  • after seeing this, i began to miss directing plays... wow. wonderful production!

  • damn you guys have some cute boys, especially something super nerdy like CHOIR. hahaha

  • this was great but you guys had a stupid audience cause they kept on clapping during the song..it just ruins it....

  • not a stupid audience, just an audience that showed their appreciation for a fantastic musical performed by some very talented & great kids.

  • i agree. i think the applause were just appropriate cause they really deserve it afterall. It's a beautiful production.

  • Just outstanding & thank you so much for posting this. The students are to be commnended for their effort, time & talent. Also to the producer & behind the scenes personnel who made this possible. Great job!!!!!

  • Where did you get your headpiece, Dolly? I've been looking for one with no success.

  • wow nothing compared to my school 3rd best in the world for high school. set is kinda sad. the girl playing Dolly is a really good singer though. oh and to many waiters looks bad. sorry.

  • Oh gee, but you're not a snob at all. What a bitch, don't you have more important things to do than bash random people's high school plays? Rehearsal, maybe, since apparently you're third in the world.

  • This performance ranks as one of the best for this song. How can you "bash" people who put in countless hours in bringing this musical to life. Their energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism at this age is to be commended not criticized. Shame on you.

  • this is better than a semi-pro production i was in

  • very nice !!! she has a great voice !

  • my god thats amazing!

were doing this for our years musical =)

  • her voice is amazing. she's meant to be in show biz. :)

  • oh and by the way, how on EARTH did you get that many guys in your musical??? We are lucky to get, like TEN guys in our musicals.

  • when my high school did this, my best friend Jane played Dolly (and I played Irene Molloy, btw) and the director decided to go with the other version of the score where Dolly's songs are all in the Soprano range. It's an interesting contrast.

  • im PLAYING dolly thiS coming spring...i have to say you are teaching me everything i need to know in your vidoes...i have watched all of them...you guys did an awesome jod...especially you....can you say HELLO DOLLY!!!!!!

  • This one made me cry. I like perfectionism. They took all that attention to detail, she has a beautiful voice and stage presence, and the guys were great doing all that stuff with as much precision ans they could. I love this video!!!!

  • haha thast the exact dress i wore when i was dolly this past spring. i hated it but i guess onstage it looked good.

  • A bunch of nice people having fun!

  • I think she's great....gonna b a star

  • Yeah, I think the dress could use a lot of fixing up. The appearneses are okay but i don't know. Besides that the play is reall cool and i love the acting!!!! Very good performence and it was it was like proffessional.

  • quel fromage

  • I hate that dress with a passion.

  • really, im laughing..fine b-way voice? are you on crack?

  • This girl has a fine B'Way voice and delivers with class and pizzazz. She does get lost on the low notes, but Dolly is very low for many, many women as she has to sing with power down to baritone range. Remember, it was written for Merman and Channing! The staging and the precision from the waiters is great for such a young cast of amateurs. This is not an easy number to get over with such measured energy and excitement. Bravo!

  • The waiters were pretty good. I didnt see anyone out of step you guys worked hard and it showed! I would have like to have heard more than one part singing tho. I aggree with an earlier post the Girl in the lead role is doesnt have the right voice but she did a good job just the same. Her costume should be a lighter all that red has blends in with the waiters too much

  • i agree more bum notes then a church hall production......oh it must be one

  • this lady has the wrong voice and look

    sorry lady

i did not mean to offend

    i luv ur voice, tho

do u have any albums out?
