i rewatched the movie now that i'm actually an adult and it's such a tragic movie! i seriously cried at the end, perhaps happy that he fulfilled his task of perhaps sacrificing himself to his trickster god.
@stockmack No, it seems that you fail to be a reasonable human being, idiot. I was trying to explain you something but you kept acting like an idiot. I will ignore you from now on. I really have no time for your nonsense
@stockmack Okay, idiot, cro magnons were tall and short, muscular and slim, it really depends. Another thing, this IS the closest thing to a cro magnon, read history, and you might know why. No, I don't have time for this because you are not a person, just an ignorant fool...
@stockmack Go ahead, you try to act a cro magnon, come on, let's see your performance. John Lone acted perfectly and gave us exactly that atmosphere of a real prehistoric man in presence. This movie is about cro magnon, our ancestors, learn to respect them, idiot...
I remember me and some friends who are of little importance now, went to see this, we wanted to see: Christine, 16 candles, and this, We didn't see Christine, though I don't think we missed out on much, in fact, all '80's flics suck IMAO, they're glum. If we hadn't seen any of these films, we hadn't missed out on much. :l
@Flakkks it was a helicopter at the end and he grabs on to it, There is a scene where tim hutton has an acoustic in the bio dome and is singing heart of gold, it is a better scene than the one posted.
@bwk5000 yeah it was a helicopter i love the begining part when they take him out of the ice i saw that movie way back when i was 11 sad when he cries about his familie i wanna buy the blue ray!!!!!!!!! disc
The acting of John Lone in this excellent movie is Oscar worthy. He had NO where to draw from to create the character of Charlie yet truly makes me feel I am watching a 40,000 year old man. This movie is true gem of the 80's and it's such a shame it was largely ignored.
@Jedi862001 i loved this movie when i was a kid, my favourite scene is when he tells about his family, and his kids...that scene is sooo touching...also icemans acting is sooo goooooooood.
I was thinking of this movie yesterday. I was x-country skiing in the backcountry in the Alps feeling very isolated and this film came to my mind. This was a great great film, I wish somebody would post more of it. And what irony that this was made in 1984, 7 years before Otzi was discovered in the Alps in 1991. What a coincidence!
Ever since I saw this movie as a kid I say Peetttahhhh when I'm pissed at something. It's very therapeutic for me and beats swearing. Peeeettttaaahhhh! Now my wife says it. Ha!
Yes the opening theme song by Bruce Smeaton is the best. Can anyone here upload that or know where it is on the net or what it is called. ??. Havn't heard it for years but have never forgotten it.
Excellent movie! John Lone was extraordinary as the Neanderthal man and didn't get much credit for it. The movie also had an incredible soundtrack by Australian composer Bruce Smeaton who also did Circle of Iron.
I saw this in the theater back in the day. I couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD. Then one day in Suncoast i saw it and snagged it up quick! Unfortunately the DVD picture quality is not much better than VHS, there isn't even a menu, WTF Universal!?
that's sad that Universal didn't care that much about such a great movie. it's a better movie than many they promote in DVDs, with their Behind the Scenes, Commentary from the Director, extra scenes that didn't make it to the movie because of time, at least they should have put in there a menu of scenes selections, that isn't so hard.
could you do as a favor?
my iceman movie doesn't work because it has errors, can you post it? i don't think universal will care if it's posted or not.
I don't have the software or knowledge on how to do it. The last time i posted just a 20 second clip from South Park on here, YouTube threatened to cancel my membership unless i deleted it.
