  • I'm just amazed that not only has PJ Harvey put out another brilliant album, she put out an album that might turn out to be regarded as her best EVER. As a longtime fan, this is very exciting.

  • Truly sad song. Fantastic album.

  • remembers me "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" smiths song...

  • Not only best album of the year but potentially of the decade

  • @bikiper Well, a lot can happen in 9 years.

  • @bikiper Don't be stupid.

  • i think the album is okay definitely aint no masterpiece. IF THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM OF THE YEAR THEN MUSIC IS CLEARLY GOING DOWN THE TUBES.

  • @royalnaz1 The english language is going down the tubes too. Try not to make it so obvious that you 'aint no' genius.

  • I agree, best album of the year, and best song, damn masterpiece

  • aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa impresionante!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Just brilliant.

  • i always prefered her more blues-y music...but jeez louisa...this album is impeccable....listening to it...from start to finish....she's never done anything better.....as a WHOLE....but that's just my opinion....

  • such a good album! I think it's becoming one of my favs not just of pjs but ever! :-)

  • Listen to the lyrics, just like poetry, brilliant!

  • some of this reminds me of midlakes (tales of van occupanther) not sure who influenced who!

  • beautiful

  • dont know what all the fuss is myself . what a boring load of rubbish

  • I like PJ's voice a little deeper and more guttural, but this ain't bad. (:

  • Esta Canción es mi favorita en el disco, muy buena, saludos desde Guatemala...

  • mcdstuff & rigani23 thank you so much for your kind comments, have been hard at it since posting that comment and have one track nearly completed (just percussion to sort out) and several others what I would call 'forming'! I will send them to you when done in case your interested.

  • After many years of messing about I'm finally trying to write my own stuff and just wish I could write something remotely close to this. Depresses me that nothing like this pops into my head, must persevere though.

  • @scottchenery

Keep at it buddy. and remember that often inspiration comes from the most unexpected of places

  • @scottchenery keep at it dude. what depresses me is seeing adults who have stopped playing music altogether. and like everyone else said, she has been doing this for a LONG time.

  • What I love about this album is the fact that it doesn't preach. It doesn't say war is good or bad. Just what it is: war. It's almost like a history lesson of humanity in the face of conflict? If that makes sense? It really is a brilliant album. PJ really outdid herself IMO.

  • Well put. That's what separates art from ... well, you know what.

  • It brings me tears

  • In this album her voice is fragile and innocent, yet powerful

  • this album is such a grower!

  • most emotive track I've heard for years

  • Heard it this morning RN Music Show and smitten what more can be said

  • Polly never stops to amaze me. This song is glorious.

  • Not one man has...and not one woman has...feel the secrets...of this world...

    Wow.

  • My favourite song on the best album I have heard in years. I hope she releases her own video of this one!

  • the audio is lower on this than it is on the version I have...this is peculiar did you edit it?

  • this song move my heart.. is so.. *.*

    ..in the fooorest.. ♫

  • Honestly, I see the allure, but I just can't get into this. I'll come back another time, maybe it'll click then

  • @Ajapam34 Poor you.

  • Are you men? hid with guns? in the forests.... and in the dark places....

  • @gloobyclamshakes01 I think it's "Our young men" mate, as in the country's men sent to war, to dieeeeeee,

  • @dub1ingunner same meaning is it not?

  • @dub1ingunner Bunch of baby killers and retards.

  • The best album so far this year and also the best song from that Album.

Question is if PJ Harvey have ever ben better? I'd say no, she definitly sing better then ever. BRILLIANT, absolutely BRILLIant!!!

  • @Matbj05 ehem ehem king of the limbs, part one and two?

  • PJH + the 90's!!!

  • She says how much this album was informed by traditional Engish songs and folk music and the Smiths are just that!

Grateful to everyone who has posted songs from Let England Shake. I'll go and buy the cd tomorrow. I think it's fantastic.

  • en live elle était incroyable cette chanson, INCROYABLE. cest une merveille...

  • The perfect song... makes my blood boil and my spirit fly

  • lol liberal, jk

    <3

  • Has anybody else noticed how this tune is just like "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths?

  • The most poignant song about war that I have ever heard. The whole album is truely outstanding..

  • Somehow this version is slightly pitched up, isn't it?

  • true
