  • @psykosel Im just saying that because of his grip he actually went BELOW 90 degrees and i wouldnt call what he did "hopping it" His back didnt arch at all and it was a solid rep. Im no where near that im 130lbs and bench about 260-275 on a good day. congrats on the Personal best tho sgtfitz71

    Drive your feet into the ground, it gives you more power as you press up

    same with curls (preachers) and any shoulder press

  • No shoulder problems? That's good. I have an unusual problem of my right shoulder hurting when I do flat bench. Incline bench and overhead presses are no problem. But the flat bench hurts like hell.  Any advice?

  • freaking awesome. first guy i see do that without arching their back. Just a recommendation. If you want to prolong your joint health, get a back belt, wrist straps and elbow sleeves..

  • wrong. back arch pushes the chest out and retracts the shoulders. it also makes sure, as long as you break at the elbows and bring the bar down to the bottom of your chest, that your elbows don't go too far behind your body like they do when you bench flat-backed - the further your arms go behind your body like that, the greater the stress on the shoulders - try just moving your elbow back far - its obvious when you feel it.  you want to prolong your joint health, don't bench flat backed.

  • @sgtfitz71 damn nice i can mac bench 430 so far if i rocket it up lol i weigh 290 Pounds wierd tho u can bench more than me and i can do more pushups i can do almost 100 legit pushups. i think i need to go winder on my becnhpress tho seems its been helping maybe i will get same weight as you idunno. im all natural like the ancient lifters of old . like hercules and and so on im only 19 years old tho so i have some years to keep training.

  • @sgtfitz71 .......your strong for sure , so was i did a 545 back in my day 1969 not to many guys were lifting that can of weight i did it with no chemical's once i started useing thats when i tore both my rotator cuff's and one pec i'm 60 years old and still can do a 465 any if i warm up really good .

  • im just curious how is you latest pt test looking and whats your stats on your push ups sit ups and 2 mile run im sure you max the calisthenics however i know carrying all that muscle mass on the run has gottta be kiling you

  • had to correct myself faster than i thought 14:23 2 mile run today at 244 pounds, 73 push ups, 56 sit ups, 272 score ok, but much room for improvment for my abs

  • Very nice. Put 480 on the bar. Lay on the bench, bring your feet in (keep them flat on the ground) arc you lower back just a bit, lock your shoulders on the bench (don't let them slip away from your start position or you will loose the drive. When you power the weight back up, let the energy build up from your feet, the weight will explode! I am currently benching 611 lbs. Want to be at 675 lbs. by July 09 - I currently weigh in at 275 and have also won 1st place and best lifter in all events.

    solo it took me 23 years to get here i blessed with no injuries and my joints never hurt me they are very solid i think thats my strongest point is my bones, lots of milk and grits when i was young haha.

  • most i ever did for a paused rep is 445, and dewalt888 i really enjoy pushing the heavy weights too, so many people say you gonna get hurt they cry and wine and try to give me advices but they all soft and the reason they say its too much on the body is because they have no idea really on how to train becuase they are very weak minded!!!! and they use that for excuses nt to train hard basically thats why they stay fat and lazy...

  • Man, work on your setup a little more. You probably could of hit 475 there. Can you arch at all? maybe give that a try. Try positioning your feet differently. I find that benching on my toes and having my feet underneith me helps me pop that bar up harder. More leg drive. Either way, you are fuckin strong! 460 is no joke!
