Hi Brian. Great review! Very helpful to those who have no way of actually testing the amp. I'm undecided on which HT Venue model to get. What was your reason for choosing the Club40? Why not the Soloist60 or the Stage60? I favor the Stage60 because of the 2 speakers. Newbies like me can't really tell what sound we really like in terms of cabinet configurations. Maybe the only way to really know is to buy and use one, say a 4x12, for a while. Unfortunately for me, if I buy one, thats gonna be it.
@frayo Check out my latest demo on the HT5R.That one is my favorite. You could always buy cabinets to run the combos through after. More speakers equal more weight, when it you have to play somewhere huge they will have a PA anyways. That's kind of how I look at it. I never lug a big cabinet out of the house.
@jermrox1 I'm not familiar with the song so I can't make any promises there. All tube amps tend to get to get trebly when the volume is turned up I find. It's just a matter of readjusting your settings. You should have no problems dialing in any tone you're after clean or overdriven. All around quality amp. Highly recommended.
Great review man and WHAT AN AMP!! I bought one yesterday and I'm not going back to anything else! It just has so many different tones, what would your gain settings be for a hard rock dirty tone?
Now thats the proper way to demo gear! I've been looking for a good demo on the chopper and I think I'm sold :-) So do you think its a good single coil sized humbucker to put in a Strat for metal-type and hard rock playing?
@mudbone80 Definitely! Exactly what I did + I get my nice strat clean sounds still in the neck and middle. I recommend it. If you lived near me I'd even wire it up for ya! :)
how this amp works with pre amps effect pedals?

i have a few questions to ask about the amp.
1. does it create a clean tone like the beginning of the song "Threads" by "This will destroy you"?
2. can it create nice eric johnson tone?
3. is the one tone control knob good enough for the clean channel?
and finally
4. Do the high notes start to get REALLY trebley and piercing at high volumes ?

For sure. I'm just using the camera mike so it's not too loud.

is it actually as loud as your voice when you use it hereon the video? so it is really capable of playing low and dimed, right??

@KumiRoni Wish I could remember for you boss. Sorry. It's not hard to dial in a good tone with that amp tho.

hey dude is this amp loud enough to play over drums?
inis99999 11 months ago
@inis99999 Definitely! It's a tube amp so it gets crazy loud. I perform with it at about a quarter volume.
