It's a trick invented by Michel Michaelchuck in 1997-1998 (don't really remember the date, but I remember I was stoked). It basically is a bs rodeo, but in a pipe it is (or was) often called chuckflip, or michaelchuck

alley-oop isn't spinning up the pipe; it's spinning opposite the direction of travel which technically this guy does but in quarter pipe stuff it's not as big of a deal.

haters are fucking gay. i snowboard, and i love it, but i give skiiers mad fucking props for some of the stuff they do. i was watching the dew tour a few nights ago and they had the freeskiing slopestyle, and these guys were doing like fakie-to-grinds and then like misties and rodeos off a cannon box. same with bladers, i skateboard, but bladers go FUCKING BIG. like, look up some of the better blading videos (chris haffey) and they do crazy shit down stair sets and rails i would never do.

I don´t wanna fuel this argument which has been going on since the beginning of both skiing and snowboarding, but he is right in a way. I won´t say that snowboarding is easier, I just think it is easier to LEARN. I mean I do both, I have been skiing since my 4th (17 now) and started snowboarding 2 years ago. Within 2 days without any lessons I was already doing pretty well. However I do love both skiing and boarding and i also think that the argument between boarders and skiers is pointless

If you're about to fall skiing, you can post the other foot(ski) to keep yourself up. Not so with a board. If you mess up you're going down.

I worked at a ski resort for a few years & we'd occasionally get SUPER wasted & ski just to mess around. SO EASY. I ski slid a rail 1st try. & then I had to ask for forgiveness since skiing is gay.

hmm i don't really agree with the whole snowboarding being ahead thing

a few years ago there was no doubt, when i got one of the first pair of twintips made people look at me like i was an idiot, especially when i was in the 'snowboard park'

but about 3 years ago, when jon olsson, tj schiller and a bunch of other skiers came around, they started going bigger and bigger,

they basically did stuff on skis that snowboards wouldn't be able to do, aka really nasty grabs with double flips
