I think it's the engines horsepower vs the finall horsepower...you know, the numbres you read on car magazines are not actually the finall numbers, almost every time. There's the engines horsepower and then a lesser horsepower that goes to the flywheel and transmision, where there's a lose due to overall friction. Its the "real" horsepower.
Bro trust me that isn't a stock block !! there is no Fuckn way a stock Ls7 block could handle this much boost without shattering the pistons of the exhaust, those Ls7's barely handle cams .. trust me
Spunkyq8, I am the owner of this C6 Z06 and it may surprise you but this is a stock block, the rods, pistons and crank are all factory. MTI in Houston is the best, it is all a matter of tuning and dial in. The car is awesome and runs great and I hammer it frequently. Thank you again MTI!!
Hey Bad .. Convince me how could a stock Ls7 block with very high compression ratio handle this much torque ?!? a close friend of mine here in kuwait shattered his pistons for just putting on cams and so many others that i know had the same problem.
Hey Spunkyq8, MTI has put out many of these cars. I have had a cam in this car for over 1year with a 200 shot of NOS, and no probems, and it was making over 800+ ft. lbs of rear wheel torque. It is all about tuning and fuel. Again with the procharger and NOS the my car runs great. If you don't believe me, you are welcome to contact David Coats, General Manager of MTI 281.870.8787 to confirm. If your friends were having problems with just a cam, there was something wrong.
Well i have my exotic a Carrera GT, and i race an 05 modular mustang making over 850 on the wheel .. and most of my friends own z06's and i know how their engine works and when i called my friend to tell him that there is one guy who makes well over 700 of torque on the wheel on a stock block he asked me to shut up and it's bullshit, that's what confuses me bro i mean if i wasn't right my friend can be ...
im sorry this is a year later reply and you probably dont give a shit but the LS7 and LS3 and id say LS9 imo are the best LS v8 engines and they can handle A LOT more stock than you think they can... again im sorry this is a year later reply and you probably dont give a shit
MTI, did you all get some better fans?

was that 725 or 829 to the wheels or both? I take it that was a small shot of nitrous? And what kind of octane gas was used

it was prolly 725 w/o nos and 829 with nos and yea ur right it was a small shot but regardless thats more than good especially on a stock block

Any mods on your flywheel or clutch ??

We installed a Ram twin disc clutch. It works great, rated to 900 ft. lbs. of torque and is very streetable. What do you drive/race?
