I remember taking my high school sweetheart to Downtown Houston and walking what seemed miles to get to a high spot on the 610 loop so we could see the entire city skyline lit up by the lights and sounds of JMJ. From every car door his sounds poured out. It was a record attendance crowd that he beat shortly after in Brazil. I think 1.4 million people were in attendance. It was one of the most magical and amazing nights of my life, never to be recreated or seen again for more reasons than I..
a brilliant album from Jean-Michel jarre throughout. not sure about the middle section of Part 5 but other than that its brilliance all the way through. this Rendez-Vous 1 track is a good way to start the day as well as end the day
@death2hiphopnRnB....................however, thinking about it now, I would rather go out knowing that I have done something with my life (like these brave people) than go out with some debilitating disease. It´s better to be remembered in a short life than not remembered at all........just my opinion.
@KingKennyRules Sadly, they did not. Some of the life air packs had been activated and switches checked that show the crew knew they were in an emergency. In NASA's final report, they stated that it was 'highly likely' that any of them were concious before the capsule hit the sea, but they had no conclusive evidence either way.
@KingKennyRules No it wasn't.The astronaut supposed to play his part,Ron McNair, never arrived to space, because he actually died with the rest of the crew when Challenger exploded few seconds after its takeoff.
No other contemporanean composer has made music like this. Jarre is the only one making this kind of spectacular themes, sounds, melodies, harmonies.. like the beethoven of his age. Vangelis is the other great one, but his style is not so strong, but sweet.
The end of this piece (from 2:24) could have the signature of Beethoven, his unique strength
The most intense passage of the entire 1986 album (but, sorry, the concert versions sounds horrible, this music is not for the cocerts, like the rock)
