Watts's analogies seem to be hasty sometimes because he's so high on the fumes of his own persona. Inner division is also the fundament of a magnetic field. Impermanence of our universe seems to imply that all anything is cause and effect, interdependent movement of, as he says, water--molecules and debris all being pulled by gravity downstream, pushing each other... Gravity may have no explainable cause, but don't go acting like the idea of cause and effect is for inferior minds

The point of my criticism is that he likes to make observations, eloquently and I love his work for that, but at the same time it doesn't really lead you anywhere. He's criticizing literal interpretations of cause and effect which A) I think few people actually make, and B) make him sound overly profound.

The overall message of the video, I'd say, is that fear is a product of identifying elements of the universe as separate from oneself.. This is kind of a theme in a lot of Eastern philosophy.. Problems come from failing to grasp completely you're unity with the cosmos..
