Anyone remember smoochy kev at night played all the love songs around 1981. Then their was a guy called keith. Hours of all the rock ballads and bobby goldsberg "honey". Reo Speedwagon. Great great memories
Hey all, just wondering if any of the old crew from Inchicore stop by here at all, its Ray Stevens here, I did the late show on Radio Dublin around 95/96, would love to hear from guys like Steve Douglas, Tommy Lee and Declan Traynor
Oh, I don't believe it! Dusty's Trail. I lived for Dusty's Trail. Best show on air at the time. I was 'Madonna's see through nightie'. I loved the get togethers that we had at the main gates of Stephens' Green every now and then. Remember Gerry's last show? He was so choked up. That's for the comments below. I'm having a nostalgic moment.
Hi Jinxer70 I remember Gerry Jones and Dusty's trail! I think I was Daryl Halls's secret girlfriend!! My friend was Nasher's Smasher (of Frankie Goes to Hollywood). We got through by phone a couple of times on Friday nights to talk to Gerry. 1985,I think - still have it recorded on an old casette somewhere!
The phonecalls would last about 15 minutes by the time you said hello to all the other trailers!!
Hi rimaaa, I remember those code names. You've brought back lovely memories. Mine was 'Judge Dredd's Law'. I used to write poems about Gerry. Those were great times.
That jingle brings back great memories. I used to cause my parents phone bill to soar by ringing up the Pia Kinsella show all the time circa 1983 telling weird ghost stories. C'mon back on the airwaves Pia you're missed!
I grew up listening to radio Dublin, Dusty's trail,, Mark Manning on the weekends, and pia Kinsella. I made great friends through that station when I used to write in for pen pals.
I actually joined the station myslef after I did my diploma in radio broadcasting in Newman college in Merrion sq, and presented a love music show 2 nights a week which was very popular in 1996 and had 2 amazing years. Any ex jocks out there, or even listeners to my show who used to ring me, drop me a line. Mark
I remember Radio Dublin from my Teenage Years.' I used to listen to John Everest, on the Breakfast Show, and DJ Lee, in the afternoon.'

I knew Kevin Barrett very well in the 70s. He came from Clondalkin. Haven't heard from him in over 30 years.

Dusty's trail was a great show,, I think he got hundreds of letters every week.
The Duran Duran fans were called "Duranies",, some people had nicknames like, John taylors toothbrush and all that.

The rusted Radio Dublin Jag at the end says it all. Titles naming the stars would be nice. Well done. JD
